I have a feeling this is going to be a regular spot for us. I almost came here on Father's Day but then figured it would probably be too busy. I ended up coming the following day and it seemed to be very calm. The place looks amazing inside and is very clean. The service was great and we were immediately attended to. Our drinks were waiting for us when we returned from our first round of the buffet. Large drink sizes and they keep the refills coming. the sushi was very fresh and tasted great. I can't believe we have an Asian Buffet now! I've been waiting so long for the buffet scene to return. I went on a Saturday around 1pm and that was a perfect time. Not crowded like 2pm when everyone and busses rolled in. I thought the quality of the seafood was super fresh and smelled fine. The Salmon was delicious and tender. Peel shrimp and mussels tasted fresh. No weird smells or spoiled taste at all. I was super impressed by the selection of bbq buns! Super warm and fluffy. Weekends have more seafood than weekdays. So we did try this place, takeout, which differs a bit from dining in. Bottom line, it doesn't suck, it's not bad, nor is it great. The two (ugh, styrofoam containers, I thought that was no longer an option in the county) cost $25.76. This was a lot of food for two! The Sashimi tuna and salmon were pretty good, but without rice, they weighed less. The fellow didn't know if the eel was fresh or saltwater; it was a tad fishy, but not bad. There are not many labels or descriptions of the sushi, so we picked what looked good. Nothing was bad, but of course, in a buffet, some items are better than others. There isn't as much sushi as other items, which one would expect. I think the sushi at Market Street is better, albeit more expensive. Then there are 'true' sushi joints. For hot food, it was OK, nothing bad, nothing great. Chows has nothing to worry about. It's all you can eat there, over 65, and it's $20 per person. So it's a deal, but it's not great, and with all the really good Restaurants in Santa Fe, sushi or otherwise, I don't think l'd go back. My go-to buffet for 30+ years is India House; everything is excellent, it's not a huge buffet, and the price is higher (I recall when it was $9.95 in the 90s). Should you try this new buffet? Maybe. Had lunch today with my wife at something Santa Fe hasn't had in a long time (if ever?): a great all-you-can-eat Asian buffet. Tried a little bit of a whole lot of different dishes and every one of them was great -- the bourbon chicken, which we noticed, had to be frequently replenished, was a tasty highlight, as were the large number of sushi selections. I'm crazy about seaweed salad and this was the first I've had anywhere in a long, long time. And I really loved my spongy espresso cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert! To my fellow Santa Feans: I would definitely recommend that you steer your tourist friends away from the Plaza and down to Cordova for the Empire alternative. The service is excellent and the place is very clean and new. Went for weekday lunch and while it was crowded, the restaurant size and staff were able to easily commentate the crowds. The food was surprisingly good, when comparing it to larger city Chinese buffets, the quality is superior with a more limited selection. $16 for a weekday lunch adult was well worth it, and as of today; children under 3 are free. There's a huge selection of sushi, which is mostly the same ingredients rolled different ways, but there's plenty for everyone!
