I've been on the hunt for some NYC/NJ style Chinese takeout and after reading the customer reviews and seeing the food pics I thought I may have finally found what Im in search of. I ordered General Tso's chicken, Mei fun with chicken and shrimp, dragon soup, fried chicken wings, and Singapore noodles. The General Tso's chicken was a dinner order and came with hot and sour soup, eggroll and fried rice. General Tso's chicken was decent tasting but everything else was absolutely bland no flavor at all. The fried Rice seem to only have soy sauce and nothing else very disappointing indeed. The fried chicken wings was "meh". The May fun was decent tasting it could have had more vegetables and shrimp we had two shrimp in it. The Singapore noodles had curry but very bland it was Disappointing because that's usually a very flavorful spicy dish. I absolutely loved the dragon soup and the hot and sour soup was Mild but flavorful. I will probably go back for their sweet meat dishes and soups. But nothing else. So my hunt for New York style Chinese takeout is still on. If anyone reading this can relate to my search and know of a good place in Atlanta or Metro Atlanta please leave me a message with the info. We usually love China Moon but the last few times we've ordered they quoted us a time just so we would make sure we placed the order and then an hour and a half almost 2 hours later we're getting our food. I understand that Covid has placed a bigger burden on delivery. However, as a business you compensate for that. You hire more delivery drivers OR you don't take on more orders than you can handle OR you are honest with your customers as to the time when they were going to get their food. If you're looking for a good Chinese food this is the place however just be prepared to wait a very long time or just go pick it up instead of doing delivery. read more

Just received a delivery$ 40.00 of of the Absolute Worst food I'veEaten!!! The reviews are so misleading. Nothing has Any Flavor!! It smells worst and tastes like it was cooked in dirt. I came here looking for a new neighborhood Chinese restaurant. What we had wasn't that great. Food tasted like salt and grease. They also do not display their food score because they have a 70 from their most recent inspection at the end of 2018. I verified this with the Cobb Public Health dept. When I asked them what their food score was, he pulled out an old inspection of 95 from 9-22-17 and said he doesn't display it because it keeps falling off the wall. Gross. read more

The food is very good at China Moon. My first experience was in the restaurant and subsequent times were delivery. Every time we've eaten, we have been very satisfied. There is another Chinese restaurant close by, and in my opinion, China Moon is better. Give them a shot if you're looking for quick and tasty food! read more

I was out with some friends at Lucho time and we saw a "Grand Opening" sign and decided to try it out. West Cobb is full of Chinese restaurants (most really bad) with a couple of good ones... so I wasn't expecting much. Walking in it looked average, but the service was good. Sat down instantly, were given menus, and drink orders taken very fast. They didn't have Dr. Pepper (my drink of choice) but that's okay. Won't take off points because they don't stock every soft drink out there. I did ask and their sodas are from a fountain and not from a can. I ordered wonton soup and the almond chicken. Didn't want to go out on a limb with an unknown restaurant. The soup came out and it was really good. Then our food came out and it was excellent. My chicken was high quality white meat and cooked just right and the fried rice was perfect. I don't eat egg-rolls so I gave mine to my wife and she enjoyed it. All in all, I was very pleased. West Cobb has a new Chinese restaurant that I can recommend. read more

She had her old standby General Tso's chicken minus veggies and I had the Shrimp with Lobster sauce. Both were good. High hopes for this place based on reviews and was horribly disappointed. I am not sure if other reviewers have just never had good Chinese food or maybe the state of dining in West Cobb is so abysmal, we have just readjusted our expectations. After working my kids and my visiting sister like rented mules for the day, I wanted to treat them to a fun meal and honestly I was too tired to cook. We ordered 4 different meals (Lo Mein, fried rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken and Spicy Vegetables for me). No need for separate reviews, they were effectively the same dish. Spicy vegetable were not spicy despite me requesting some extra heat. The sauce was over done, smothering the veggies. The biggest crime was the veggies. I assumed they were from the freezer because the broccoli was soggy to the point of falling apart and they had a mixture of sickly green and grey coloring. I was able to pick out a few veggies from my meal and then made some of my own brown rice. Driving 8 extra miles to the Panda Express would have been a good investment in our dining pleasure (and yes, I know Panda Express is horrible). read more

We stopped here for dinner last night after shopping nearby. I'm really glad we did. The food was excellent and the people were really nice. I will definitely think of them first when a craving for Chinese comes on. Food was very fresh and delicious. Generous portions and equally as important - the place was squeaky clean. I've had good Chinese food a few times, this wasn't one. The good - it was hot, fast, cheap and had no MSG. The bad - my General Tso's chicken was chewy, fried hard and the sauce tasted like orange ketchup. It was too sweet and so salty I actually got a leg cramp that night. That's never happened! I was really surprised given the great reviews. I should've known though, if a place doesn't have brown rice it's usually downhill from there. read more

I have given this place multiple tries due to the great reviews. I have tried the General Tso's, Mongolian Chicken, and sesame chicken. They all have something missing in the flavor department. I have had better mall Chinese. The fried rice is not edible if not mixed with a meat.. I just don't get the hype. read more

Our new favorite, replacing House Of Lu III. Delivery is fast and they will throw in free donuts if asked. I usually have a type of shrimp dinner, along with our usual crab Rangoon, steamed pot stickers, and lo mein, all always delicious, with the portions you expect for this type place. One of the worst Chinese restaurants I have ever eaten at. If you like all your food with sugar and bread...this is your place. Left a full plate of Kung Pao Shrimp because it had sugar in it. The wonton soup was good and the wings were good when I asked them to leave out the corn starch that they add to them. When the waitor came to our table and took the whole uneaten plate and I asked him if the chef put sugar in it he said, "yes but just sugar coated peanuts". I'm never the one to order Chinese takeout, but this place has me hooked! After experiencing my second delivery with China Moon, the food gets tastier each time. The Singapore noodles are deliciously spiced with the perfect amount of curry sauce. Usually, I'm skeptical on ordering meats through take out; however, the Mongolian beef is so tender and fresh. Probably one of their best plates! And you can't go wrong with their spring rolls.. YUM. Also, take a spoon full of the Dragon soup. One of my favorites! Oh my goodness! This is the best Chinese food we have had in a while (and we are pretty picky)! We had the crab Rangoon, which was unlike we've ever had before! We also had hot and sour soup, house pan fried noodles, sesame chicken, egg rolls, and fried rice. Everything was fresh and hot! The pan fried noodles had the best flavor I've ever tasted! Stopped in here because my daughter wanted some Chinese food. We weren't on a route that we are familiar with. So, I looked for the nearest Chinese restaurant on Yelp. Luckily, we were .2 miles away and it had a pretty good rating. JACKPOT!!! The food was fresh, hot and YUMMY! The waitress was very nice and accommodating. Unless you want MSG in your food then do not eat at China Moon. I requested NO MSG in an order of Chicken Fried Rice but it was in the rice. I called the restaurant, the kitchen said they could not be sure it was not cooked with MSG. UNBELIEVABLE!!! This is the second time this has happened and there will not be a third. I have gotten takeout at China Moon several times my favorite Gen Tso and loved it. Always had 2 meals off one meal. So I ordered my usual and was terribly disappointed because there wasn't much chicken at all mostly breading. This was on Tuesday April 6th. Since I split it up for lunches of course I didn't find this out until Wednesday at lunch. Good thing the rice was still good. It's going to be a while before I order anything from them. read more

This restaurant is terrible as far as food goes. The combination comes with soup (awful), fried rice which was just a dark brown rice with no flavor, and broccoli. The broccoli was raw ---not steamed or anything. The eggroll is awful---it did have a flavor and it was like rotten cabbage. Not good. Of course, this is just my opinion. We have been searching for a great Chinese place for a while with no real luck. Mini Stop was the best so far but I never understood the hype. It's average, at best. China Moon has lo mein like you might find in New England. It's great, definitely recommend. The honey garlic chicken, fried rice, and egg rolls are great too. We've been to so many places and this is some of the best Chinese food my husband and I have had. Delivery is good. Usually around 45 min or so whenever we call in. Used to only take around 20-30 but they seemed to have really picked up business. They are always busy but it's a good sign. Hopefully they expand closer to downtown Kennesaw! read more

At so many Chinese restaurants, the dishes with familiar names are just boring rehashes of the same tastes you get everywhere. For some people this is reassuring, I suppose, but that's what I like about China Moon - they put a spin on even the most familiar dishes. Take Mongolian Beef, which for me is the "mineshaft canary" of any Chinese restaurant. At China Moon, the beef is tender, the sprouts crisp, and the sauce has a zip. It's the same for all the dishes. It was okay food. I've had way better Chinese food. I'm kind of shocked since there we're a bunch of positive reviews. That's why I based my decision on. Huge disappointment. It seem that they were more worried about decorating the food with vegetables then making it good. It was kind of expensive too for average food.
