    Hot and Sour Soup
    Ericson R.

The food was good and the portions were big enough to share with another person but this was slightly overpriced. Now I'm wondering if they overcharged us. 1 Combo plate and 2 soups half and half (fried rice and lo mein) Butter shrimp, general tso chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Hot and sour soup Wonton soup They only said it was one size for the soup and it was a huge portion. Not sure if this was all wo

We found cooked maggots in our orange chicken. We will not be coming here anymore.

Reminded me nothing of China. And it's an overly white hovel in there with next-to-cheap tables and chairs. But if you're looking for grub that's of the fast sort, then you might just fill up real nice (and have leftovers to boot) at "China One Express." They got your guilty pleasure Orange Chicken here, Coconut Butterfly Shrimp here too, but they had my Beef Filet and Onions for me. Big pieces. #wellfed

They have a lot of plastic and plush toys behind the counter and some shockingly pink artificial orchids on each table top. *Food: this is where I went weak in my knees after sampling the spread in front of me. Such simple yet mind bogglingly delicious food! If it were not for the large amount of grease across the dishes, I would have rated this as my favorite Chinese restaurant in the bayarea. We got chicken fried rice, chicken chow mein, Mongolian chicken and chicken with green beans. Fried rice was moist and umami rich. The noodles had a thick delicious sauce coating them. The green beans were addictively crunchy. The chicken was soft and flavorful. I reached my happy place after this meal.

I was working in Greenfield and was craving Chinese. This place seems to be the only option, lol!…read moreDefinitely hole in the wall vibe which i don't mind at all. After speaking with the lady there, I found out they've been at the same location for 20 years! Any food place that can last 20 years is doing something right. Now to the food! I did their 3 item combo with chow mein which was about 15 bucks after tax. I chose broccolli beef, salt and pepper chicken something (I forgot what they called it), and fried shrimp. Huge portion overall, my box weighed at least 2 pounds! Chow mein was above average with more flavor than panda express. Broccolli beef was average to above average. Fried shrimp was just as you would expect from a buffet. Not bad, not amazing. The real star to me was that salty, peppery, jalapeño chicken dish. That's the one that makes me wanna come back. This place isn't gonna blow you away, but the food is flavorful, and comes at a great value which really means a little more nowadays! Considering the cost, i'd recommend this place to satisfy your chinese food craving

Let me formally apologize as it appears I may have posted a review for Panda Express to this…read morerestaurant in error and gave them a 1-star review. I no longer see that review on my history so I am assuming that Yelp corrected that oversight as i referenced a drive thru that does not exist at this restaurant but does exist at Panda Express in Soledad. Having gotten that out of the way, now let me accurately review this location. Admittedly I have acquired take-out from this location on several occasions over the past 5 years. To be fair, the food was average and not really having anything so positive or so negative to say I never bothered to submit a review. But I will correct that now for better or worse. The location is in a shopping mall so parking options are generous. The restaurant itself is not opulent nor trashy but just simple and adequate. Seating options are okay though if they were more popular I think they would need to address a better layout for seating. Every interaction I have had with staff has always been pleasant. As I noted above the food is okay. And to be fare, if you check my Panda Express review I revised today to correct the mistake I made. They are heads and shoulders above Panda Express. Their Chow Mein tastes and looks like I would expect (unlike Panda). Their meatballs are okay and the other dishes average. I have tried most of what they offer and nothing was so off-putting that I need to provide details, while nothing so amazing that it warranted being called out. Simply stated, if you are not interested in cooking one night, they offer options that are decent; though if I were so inclined I feel I might cook those options better but they just save me the time. Not intended to sound or be critical. Just an honest opinion and hope it helps. Sorry again if my post intended for Panda Express caused any issues but I no longer can find that original review so hopefully this more accurately captures your restaurant.

Delicious food, great service, generous portions, storefront restaurant with limited ambience…read more Mix Stix Asian Fusion is a surprising find in Soledad. A fairly extensive sushi menu, a number of traditional / California Chinese dishes, really attentive service by Jocelyn this evening, and quite generous portions. We ordered a Bento box of sushi and sashimi, a seaweed salad, and a shrimp tempura roll. The sushi chef only had our order to work on, so we got our food very promptly. Quite generous portions for the sushi and sashimi items (quite large chunks of fish as sashimi, and five or six big pieces of fish on rice for the sushi). However, we're used to Bento boxes coming with some other elements in addition to the main named items; there were none, and although there were cardboard shipping cartons containing traditional Bento Box trays stacked next the the sushi chef's station, we were served the sushi and sashimi items on a platter. We were also served quite a large portion of seaweed salad, and five pieces of shrimp tempura with our order. No dessert available (no mochi, green tea ice cream), but we each got a fortune cookie. The restaurant looks like it does most of its business as carryout, so maybe decor is not so important, but there is none. The red chairs are the only decor present. We expressed our appreciation for the generous portions and the very attentive service with a generous tip. For the three items ordered, with tip, we paid $53.

That being said, we had a pleasant experience here. It's clean. It's bright from sunlight (not industrial lighting) inside. There are booths and tables so small or large party-flexible. Got a friendly greeting from the owner (maybe?). You pay when you go in, before you sit down, so there's no waiting for your check. If you'd like beer or wine (only wine by the bottle, but it's $16.10 a bottle - Copper Ridge), you buy that at the front, too. I had a Tsing Tao beer for $4.50. Self-serve tea in plastic mugs, which is just okay. It's a multi- row buffet with a lot of choices. We went for Friday night dinner, at 5:30. It had a few big tables of families and some small groups at the booths. I most enjoyed the salt and peppered pork, sesame balls, veggie spring rolls, and all the wok-cooked dishes with vegetables (like beef with broccoli and the wok-cooked green beans), which were perfectly cooked, fresh, and not too salty. The house special rib (a flat cut, not like a spare rib) was in a very exotic magenta sweet/spicy sauce and was worth a taste. There was a dish of fried salt and pepper in-shell shrimp, which I would have tried if I had felt like shelling shrimp. My partner said the steamed peel-and-eat shrimp were also very good. I was impressed with the fresh salad bar's cucumber slices, and fresh honeydew and cantaloupe, which all looked very nice. I would skip the noodles and the egg flower soup. Oh, and the soft-serve vanilla ice cream with sauces was very fun. There were many kinds of cookies that I wasn't familiar with that were fun to try: a vanilla wafer with cream cookie, and an almond cookie. The empty dishes were cleared quickly. It was a good value at $23(ish) per adult for dinner on the weekend. Different prices for lunch. We will be back!

The décor is simple, comfortable, and fitting for the space, creating a welcoming atmosphere. After looking through the menu, we decided on the Chef's Special Dinner. For our entrées, we chose the Chow Fun Noodles with Beef, Sizzling Black Pepper Beef, and Chicken Fried Rice. Appetizers included Egg Rolls, Deep-Fried Shrimp, and BBQ Ribs. The meal also came with a bowl of War Wonton Soup. Everything was freshly prepared and made to order. The ingredients tasted fresh, the flavors were well balanced, and every dish was cooked properly. The standout item for us was the Chow Fun Noodles with Beef. The tender beef and perfectly cooked noodles made it the highlight of the meal. Everything paired nicely with a chilled glass of Hexamer Riesling. To top it all off, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, and all of our dishes arrived in a timely manner. We'll definitely be back for another visit.
