Always on the lookout for a good Chinese food experience. Tried this based on the number of positive reviews. In July 2021 they are one of the few places still asking everyone to mask up, but they also didn't seem to enforce it when someone entered without a mask. We ate inside, and they did fix everything to go and provide styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. To be honest, the food was just average. Nothing special, I'm sure most of it came frozen. However, the one thing that we really had issue with was that we specifically asked, if the sesame chicken and orange chicken were prepared using all white meat, and we were told that they were both all white meat. They were definitely not all white meat, so that left us feeling lied to and cheated because otherwise we would not have ordered the items. It seems as though the staff need to be more knowledgeable about their product or they need to talk with their supplier about providing quality product. I frequented this restaurant when I first moved to Nashville. It was the closest Chinese restaurant to my apartment and it remains the best in the city, in my opinion. We usually get China King if we are feeling like loading up on Chinese takeout, but over the years it's kind of gone downhill. We heard about this place and decided to give it a try. We ordered out on a Sunday around 8:15pm. An order of bourbon chicken combo, general Tso combo and an 8 piece order of crab rangoon. They told us it would be 15 minutes and we arrived about ten minutes after ordering and it was ready. I had never been in the area before, it looks a little rundown. The restaurant didn't have any customers in it when I entered to get the to go order. They have a LOT of handwritten signs that tell the different rules of the restaurant that doesn't make it feel very welcoming. The total for our meal was $21.33. We came home and busted it open. The bourbon chicken is a non breaded chicken, it had somewhat of a sweet/spicy sauce on it. It didn't taste like bourbon. The chicken was good though. The general Tso's had a LOT of sauce on it. The chicken in the bottom was covered, soaking in it. Maybe next time we will ask for the sauce on the side. The crab rangoon wasn't good. It was hard to bite into the wonton and the filling tasted like runny cream cheese. I wouldn't recommend getting them. The peas in the rice were a little on the firm side. I think that must be a Chinese restaurant issue around here though. read more

I just moved down to the area this summer and was bummed to hear from my brother who's lived here for a few years that there wasn't any good Chinese food. But I stumbled upon this place and decided to try it, and now it's a go-to takeout spot for me. Highly recommend the bourbon, general Tso's, and sesame chicken. Egg rolls slap too. 1 star Have ordered from here 4 times over past 3 months but this will be the last. This place apparently hates to throw away old unserved food here & just keep recycling it until they sell it. (2) orders of 8pc fried chicken wings were inedible. They were clearly over 2 weeks old, hard, dry, black from being reheated over & over. Shrimp toast were the same, they were greasy from being reheated over & over. They were hard & burnt outside from the reheating. Fries were greasy from being refried again too. Ordered steamed white chicken & broccoli with garlic sauce on side. Received a black reddish firery hot sauce that was at level 100 on a scale of 1-10. It was pure hot, inedible, & not what I asked for. Luckily they didn't put it on the steamed chicken/broccoli or it would have been inedible too. Threw away chicken wings, shrimp toasts, fries, & sauce that came for steamed chicken as they were all inedible. Won't order from here ever again. read more

Hard to find good Chinese food these days for some reason. Their general tsos chicken was delicious and even had some heat in it! Every place says it is spicy but it is never spicy. I've seen my coworkers scarf down this Chinese food and I had to try it for myself. I called ahead and the owner's 10 year old daughter answered the phone. She was polite, intelligent and knew how to answer all of lunch special questions. I chose the orange chicken with rice. It was so tasty and affordable. There were real orange pieces in my food. I agree with some of the other reviews that the Crab Rangoon filling was bit more creamy than I've had in the past but their veggie egg rolls and their sweet and sour sauce was THE BEST! The Veggie Mai Fun was delish and the Kung Pao Chicken had a very generous amount of chicken and it was really good . Their staff was friend, prices were good, and they were super quick. Summary: Thank GOD I finally found a decent Chinese restaurant near my place. I'm the kind of guy that if I find a really good pizza place, or Chinese place, or Indian place, etc. I will be a loyal customer. I visited the place because of the high Yelp recommendations. I have two go-to meals to "try out" a Chinese food place. General Tso Chicken with only white meat and Chicken & Broccoli. The Chicken & Broccoli to me is a nice, light staple for when I'm on a diet and don't want something too heavy. The flavor mix with China Spring was fantastic. The sauce didn't overpower the broccoli or chicken; it all blended into a very delicious taste that was just as good heated up the following day. The General Tso Chicken...why do I ask for all white meat? It's because I like to see how a restaurant handles someone making a request for something different than the norm. Not only did the guy who took my order not bat an eye, it truly was all white meat when I got home and broke it out. And it was goooooooooooooood. Oh yes. It was gooooooooooooooooood. Now that I know they're good, I'll expand the items I try from them. But it's good to know that I now have a "go to" place where I'll get some damn fine Chinese food. I love China Spring. We discovered this little gem a couple of years ago when we were angry at mean ol' China Moon on Murfreesboro Road, and said "screw it", we're changing shops. Best chinese-food decision ever. This place is family-owned by a younger couple, and they are the nicest people! The girl is very sweet and remembers all of her regulars. When I was pregnant with my son, and was visibly showing, she ran around the side of the counter and put her hands on my belly. "It's going to be a boy!" she exclaimed. From then on, she always asked about the baby and once he was born she came out to the dining room to play with him and coo over him. If my husband goes to pick up dinner without me, she always asks about me. You can't beat the awesome service and genuine interest these folks display in their customers. Now onto the food! The portions are very generous. Typically my meal will last me through dinner and then lunch the next day. The hot and sour soup is hands down, the best I've had in Nashville. It's spicy, tangy and is chock full of yummy bamboo veggie things. The lo mein and fried rice are always fresh and tasty. My favorite is the beef and broccoli. The broccoli is always freshly steamed, and the beef is tender and cooked well. The Kung Pao Shrimp, General Tso's, and Happy Family are also very good. The pork fried dumplings are awesome, and are so big they can be eaten as a meal rather than an appetizer. My stomach is growling just thinking about it. If you call in an order, it'll be ready in usually 10 minutes, unless they have a rush and then you'll be looking at about 15. Their dining room is very clean, and decorated nicely. I had a great experience here! I called to see if they could cook my meal without cornstarch and the woman I spoke with was so friendly and accommodating. I picked up my meal and she even let me taste it before leaving! It's great when you find a place that is willing to create special orders. she even said she saved it in the system should I choose to come back.
