Sorry I didn't take a picture. Often I order late after a long day when we finally all get him after sporting events. And each and every time it's quick, piping hot and delicious. We're always on the lookout for good Chinese take-out and tried this place on the fly at the end of a long road trip. They nailed it. The online ordering was successful. The order was hot and packed well so that it didn't spill during the long ride back to the island. When we got home everyone lived their food, including two teenagers. Good job China Sun. I will never try this place again. It's way too greasy. The food wasn't up to par on several levels besides the greasiness. I guess, you can ask to make it less greasy, but one time was enough for me. Thankfully I found another great take out place 13 min away. It is quick, it is easy, it is convenient. The portions are ample to generous and the food quality is just fine for the price paid and venue. Service is relatively quick (considering that they are making it for you) and staff is friendly enough. Perfect for a cheap takeaway meal with the family. Look, I like this place. It's really nothing special but it has good food. So you know whenever I like a place - it gets 5 stars. None of these 4.5 or 3.9 stars - no I'll give the 5 stars. If you're picky then well I'm not sure what to tell you. But, if you like simple good takeout food then try them. I moved to Chesapeake in June 2020 and have had a lot of hit and misses with Chinese Restaurants. China Sun is the best chinese food in this area! Actually, the egg rolls are so fresh, I think they're the best I've ever had. THE HOUSE DUCK SAUCE is the bomb!! I order it by the 1/2 pint! Ordered 2 Generals chicken and both were just small fried dough with no chicken inside. Couldn't believe we paid for chicken and just got 2 Orders of breading. The sweet and sour pork wasn't much better . Tiny pieces of pork that were mostly breading. We will not be ordering from them again. read more

Went in for the first time. None of the employees were wearing masks. The lady at the register was prepping food without gloves. She took my order, ran my credit card and then went right back to touching food without washing her hands or using gloves. Food wasn't great either. I proceeded to order delivery via the website on a Monday evening. After being patient and waiting an hour and a half I called three times and got no answer. I triple checked my confirmation email. I then googled the store to stumble upon yelp and find out you are closed on today?!?! How am I able to place an order, wait, call re-visit the website and and waste two hours waiting for my food just to discover you are closed today. Complete bs. Tried it twice, there will not be a third. Quality of food is just not to my expectations

Food acceptable, however, we ordered take-out and had to wait twice as long as were told AFTER I arrived. Got order home and no condiments and egg rolls were missing. Called back and was asked to wait and I could hear her dealing with another customer whose egg rolls were missing. She told me to come back or I could have a free egg roll next time, no refund. Sorry I left a tip for take out and not certain that there will be a next time. read more

We order from this place at least twice a month. I stay pretty safe and get chicken fried rice and egg drop soup. The soup is not overly seasoned (I hate the egg drops soups with the pepper and veggies), and the fried noodles are the really thick kind that are so good. The chicken fried rice is really good too, even reheated. My husband gets the Singapore Mei Fun, a seafood curry lo mein thing. He absoulutely loves it and could probably eat it for days. The only other things I've tried are the sesame chicken, sweet and sour pork and and chicken lo mein. All were fantastic. Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad allergic reaction when I got the chicken lo mein (shellfish allergy), so that makes me think they use the same pan for everything. That knocked off a star for me. Ordered here while visiting relatives. I recognize Chesapeake is a hick town where few residents have ever enjoyed first class Chinese food in a major city like New York or San Francisco. That said, even by sorrowful local standards, this food is disgusting. The shrimp toast were overcooked to a dark chocolate brown in oil that clearly should have changed out long ago. The filling was mushy and tasteless. No hint of shrimp. I'm frightened to think about what it might have been. Anyone serving dumplings like these in NYC, or DC would be immediately arrested and jailed. The dumplings were big and tough, containing only a tiny morsel of ground ......uh.....meat, that was totally flavorless. No specks of ginger or garlic. Nothing. The idea that anyone would travel from NC to eat here, as one reviewer did, is mind boggling. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Because the lady who answered the phone failed to listen to me the first time I had to call back and place an order that I didn't receive and when I did call she had the audacity to say "omg" as if she's the one who has the right to be annoyed. And now on top of that everything I had ordered was from the lunch menu which comes with one can drink. If I place 3 lunch orders I should receive 3 cans of soda, so explain to me why I didn't receive any!? read more

This is one of the better Chinese carry outs in the area. The service is very fast. Everything is cooked to order. It's a family run business, and they are very friendly and courteous. The prices are very reasonable. We frequently eat in. The portions are large enough that my wife and I can share. It's also one block off 168. So, it's a very good alternative to typical road food to and from the OBX. read more
