Oh my word! We were in Orlando for fun and we searched local / cheap restaurants before we chose China Tea. We were not disappointed! The restaurant is very small but quaint. I counted room for about 20. Their take out business is BIG it seems. We had the dinner special which comes with fried rice and either an egg roll or soup. I had Mongolian Beef and my husband had sesame chicken. The special comes with pork fried rice but we don't do pork - they were more than happy to substitute fried rice of our choice. The Mongolian beef was seriously the best I've ever had. The beef was so tender it cut with a fork and was so soft and easy to chew. The flavors were spot on. Everything was hot and fresh. Since they no longer having the dine in option, I'll just rave about the food! I found this place through a friend from work who was from New York and said the food was as good as home. Well he wasn't kidding. We started with the boneless ribs and they were excellent. Tender and sauced perfectly. We also had the steamed dumplings. They were delicious, and so were the coconut shrimp. This visit I had the house Lo Mein and it was excellent! The assorted proteins were tender and tasty with shrimp, chicken and pork. My dining partner had the spicy orange chicken with fried rice. Super good and tasty with just the right amount of spices. The service is swift and efficient. Taking out Chinese - come here, you won't be disappointed! read more

I love this place one of the best places to eat in all of Orlando for Chinese food. Coming from NJ, and hitting Chinatown in the city I was very picky about my food. This place is very flavorful. I have eaten almost everything on their menu, and never been disappointed, the only downfall is there is no bok choy but no one down here uses bok choy. They have about 10 tables and for lunch you need to get there by 12 PM or you will waiting for about 15 min. The owner may seem a bit overwhelmed sometimes because how busy they are, but don't take heart she is very sweet. She also remembers her customers and she learns what you like. read more

My family is vegetarian, so that is my disclaimer. Meat eating folks probably have different experiences. I'd give the veggie fried rice a 4 out of 5. Loved the complexity of the vegetables in it. Some give up after peas and carrots and a piece of onion. There were some shiitake mushrooms and other items that made this a pretty tasty option for take out. This was the star of the show. Also had the curry tofu. Have to give that a 2 out 5. The flavor was there, the execution left much to be desired. It was too soupy of a sauce. Seemed like a can of cheap coconut milk was dumped in with the leftovers of some curry powder. The tofu itself absorbed the flavors well, but at the end of the day wading through the puddle of sauce despite, again a wonderful array of vegetables just took away from the meal. After we landed in Florida, we were craving for authentic Chinese food for Thanksgiving. Yes, we were one of those people who didn't care about turkey. We wanted yummy food.Due to the holiday, most of the restaurants were closed. That was a bummer. The food at China tea was descent but I felt the portions were small. And it was not authentic at all. We felt the service was slow. They took time to cook although there was only one table occupied and they left shortly after we sat down. I would say, when they were closing their doors around 5pm, customers started to show up. Unfortunately they had to leave.They closed down early due to holidays. My favorite was the chicken with broccoli. Chicken was not dry. I did notice they wipe the tables, chairs, inside and outside the refrigerator. I like clean restaurants. There's a small area where u can stand to pay but apparently you have to call and order in advance. Someone that has never been here before would not know this. The best and pretty much ONLY good thing that has happened to us in this strange year 2020 was finding China Tea. We were yearning for a delicious Chinese experience, and while we were okay with other places, decided to venture out and try a new experience at China Tea. This is a family owned and operated business, and they take great pride in the fresh food they create. That speaks volumes to us. When a business owner takes such pride in the product they make. Our first visit was August 28, 2020 and we have been back at 2 or 3 times a week since then, and we will continue on this journey with China Tea forever. We have tried many things from the ample selection on the menu, and everything has been absolutely delightful and full of great flavor. The Spring Rolls and Egg Rolls are an absolutely MUST! So delicious they are beyond words. A real great add-on to any meal. The Bird's Nest is a real treat. We'd never seen or heard of it and it was a great tasty delight!!! China Tea's Lemon Chicken is really amazing and perfectly seasoned to perfection. We love the Moo Shu Pork is wonderful, served with a brilliant sauce and flat rice pancakes. DELICIOUS! Another great taste is their Hawaiian Rice. So full of flavor! Watch a sunset while eating, close your eyes, and be transported to a wonderful place on an island. Every dish we have had and continue to try is as excellent as the previous....we just can't get enough of China Tea's amazing food. This year has been challenging for many restaurants during this Covid Pandemic, and China Tea has found a way to operate and serve the community great food, SAFELY. The owners go above and beyond to ensure ALL safety protocols are being followed, with hand sanitizer everywhere, masks required, and protective screens when picking up to-go orders. This tells me that China Tea actually CARES about the community and wants to see all of us get back to normal in the future, which we will eventually. Until that time comes, we RESPECT the decision of China Tea to continue on a 'take-out' only basis for the time being. China Tea is doing what is right for their business and right for our community. Hopefully, this resonates with those that seemed to not understand in other reviews. China Tea is doing this out of RESPECT for the HEALTH of ALL of us! Think about it. They would LOVE to have diners inside, and they WILL, when they believe that the time is right and safe for all. Okay, time for us to get on the phone to order an EXCELLENT dinner! Trying something new tonight....and we KNOW it will be AWESOME. Odd setup. can only order by phone even though they have a counter inside. Whole seating area must have been shut down and walled/plexiglassed off during COVID and they never took it down. Sick of pasta and burgers, we wanted some semi homemade asian eats. Tucked away in an unassuming corner location in a strip mall you'd miss it of you blinked. A bit hesitant because it didn't look like much from the outside but it was quite spacious and filled with tons of families having a nice quiet dinner out. There are several tables set up for wait service but primarily this place is a classic take out place. Owner was very friendly and sat us quickly, while manning the take out counter, bringing food out to guests and clearing tables by herself. Ordered a few classic American Chinese apps: spare ribs, crab rangoon, dumplings, egg drop soups, scallion pancakes. All yummy since they were served immediately oyt of the broiler and fryer. For our mains we ordered the house lo mein, a seafood combo in a garlic white sauce and a sesame chicken plus some string beans sautéed in garlic for some ruffage. All tasted fresh and well seasoned. I thought it was odd that they had bubble tea, smoothie and milkshake menus up but said they don't offer them anymore...ummm maybe it's time to change the name of the establishment then? Call it in and one of two choices. Food sits so you don't wait or you wait and the food still sits because a dozen other people are at abiding outside door and only 1-2 people allowed in door at a time. Definitely a no frill Chinese restaurant however, don't let that stop you. The food and flavoring are a 5 stars. There are about 7-8 tables in the entire place and it is setup to be more of a take out place. Pros: The place is very clean. They are constantly cleaning actually. While we were there for lunch. They were cleaning their door and Windows. They were very attentive in terms of refilling our water and made our food perfect to our request. I ordered Mongolian chicken extra spicy, it came out steaming hot and with amazing flavors. My husband ordered Kung pao chicken with 2 stars spicy, it came just as that. Additionally, there were two other tables with 5 and 3 people and I noticed that they must ordered something off the menu as I didn't recognize those dishes. So another pro is they customize to people likings. Pricing is ridiculously reasonable ($5.69-$7 for lunch) I guess living in Seattle- I don't get to see pricing like this anymore so I truly appreciate it. I remember seeing this type of pricing back when I was in College in Pittsburgh but no where in Seattle for sure or even in Tampa. We chanced upon this tiny gem on our way to Costco and decided to try it for lunch based on the great Yelp reviews. The three meals we had were exceptional examples of what could have been very ordinary, but they were elevated by quality ingredients, expertly handled in the kitchen. We had both wonton and hot and sour soup. Both were seasoned perfectly and had a subtle underlying smoky complexity of flavor. I love duck and have had the privilege of frequenting a few of the duck "palaces" in Beijing where they number each of the thousands of ducks served and present you with a certificate to that effect. My humble $7.89 duck lunch here, Crispy Wok Shu Duck, was one of the best duck dishes I have ever eaten--crispy, but not overly coated, with melt-in-your-mouth meatiness inside. This was presented on a bed of crisp-tender veggies in a light savory sauce alongside a generous helping of good fried rice. My husband and sister had the Thai Basil Chicken ($5.69) and Chicken with Cashew Nuts (also $5.69), respectively. All three of us loved our meals and polished off every bit. My sister also tried bubble tea for the first time (mango) and loved it. It helps that she loves tapioca ;o) Our very reasonable tab was paid off by a fellow customer who was grateful to my husband for producing the proper cord for charging his phone while he dined, my husband having overheard a conversation he was having with the owner. After he left, the owner came over to let us know that our entire bill had been paid. This tiny, clean, competent and caring restaurant provided us with not only an amazing meal, but an amazing experience with human appreciation and generosity. Yep, I'm a fan. My wife and I travel around the US a lot with my business and for fun. One thing we love is a good Chinese restaurant. It doesn't need to be fancy it just has to be good. We were brought up on New England Chinese food along with NYC and Boston so the bar is a bit high to say the least! We live in Kentucky now and there is one great Chinese place - Oriental House - and it's amazing. Tonight we looked to Yelp for advice and found China Tea. We ordered Pork Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon and Singapore Curry Noodles (not sure that's what they call it but is done with Mei Fun noodles). Firstly the egg rolls were so tasty! The wrapper was crispy but not overcooked and the filling was tops. You can't judge a book by it's cover so we were glad when we bit into it and it was full of veggies and pork! Secondly we had the crab Rangoon - again, nicely cooked with a tasty cream cheese and crab filling. Another yum! Lastly we asked for this Singapore Mei Fun spicy and it did not disappoint. It was spicy and on the edge really spicy but it was something you could not stop eating! It was fully of vegetables and pork, chicken and shrimp. The size surprised us because it looked sort of small in the rectangular container but it was enough on non-gorging day with an egg roll and Rangoons. We are in a condo and although our plans tonight are for maybe Mexican (may we suggest El Tenampa in Kissimmee) we could just go back and eat more of this delicious Chinese! A note about the place. It seats about 20 or so and it was packed. The kitchen, which is right behind the register and open for all to see, was clean and tidy. And the rest of the restaurant was spotless. Try it out. Second time trying this place. First time was pre-covid. They ONLY have pick up available now but they're very busy even just for pick up. Only accepting orders through phone call and only 2 cooks in the back while the lady runs around doing everything else. Dine in will not be open at all this year (2021). The food is still pretty good but lots of items are not available anymore. Took almost an hour for my take out order. First time trying the egg roll but I just don't like those huge wrappings on them, but everything else I ordered were great. Will definitely order again. read more

What a wonderful surprise to find a place like this. It was a totally unexpected last-minute decision to have lunch there. The food was delicious. I had the Thai chicken, my sister in-law had the chicken with cashews and my wife had the duck. All our dishes were lunch meals. While we were there, the takeout orders were constant. The phone orders never stopped. We realized that this small restaurant has a steady stream of repeat customers. The quality of the food explained it all. I plan to return frequently. While there, a regular customer asked to use the owner's cell phone charger. She said okay, only to discover it was an older Apple cord that would not work with his phone. Overhearing, I got my new cord from my car. I apologized for eavesdropping and offered him the cord to use. I just asked that when done he return it. After he left, the owner informed us that our entire check had been paid by this generous customer who borrowed my cord. Just had to update my review since it's been a while since I reviewed this place and it's one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando. Food is always fantastic, regardless of what you order. One of the best parts is you can change things around if you like. I like my fried rice with carrots and onions. I asked one day if they could do that and they accommodated me. It's now my signature side to go with my lemon fried chicken which is to die for. My dad gets Kung Pao chicken, my cousin gets moo shu pork, my nieces both get something else and everyone is always happy The restaurant is run by a very nice lady, her husband is one of the chefs. She finally hired another server but during the school year she only works on weekends. Everyone is very nice. The downside - very very very small restaurant - and they do not take reservations Sodas are purchased in cans so no free refills, which we have gotten used to everywhere else read more

We had the coconut shrimp, crab Rangoon, and pan fried dumplings to start. We ordered 2 entrees off the luncheon menu - the Mongolian beef and the sesame chicken. Every bite was as tasty as the last and although we went at prime time lunch hours - the service was prompt. The prices were so reasonable and the portions provided us more than enough to have leftovers for dinner. Don't waste your bucks eating in the parks. As of this time they are still closed for dine in. Didn't know that until we arrived. So we had to call in our order and wait for it to pick up. Took 30 mins before we got our food. The lady got us the exact/correct number of plates, utensils and napkins without asking (or maybe she saw us at the window while I called to place the order over the phone). Would have preferred to dine in coz we were so hungry when we got there, so had to drive back to eat. Got the fried chicken wings, eggplant with garlic sauce, fried rice and sweet and sour shrimp. We just dined at China Tea (literally 10 minutes ago), and this is the restaurant that made me download the Yelp app and create an account. It's a small place, but the food is amazing. We got 2 Kung Paos, the Five Spice Szechuan chicken, and Chicken Lo Mein dinner specials. It was very reasonably priced, had generous portions (we were really hungry and we still all brought food home), and it was overall a great experience. Most Chinese restaurants have similar menus, but China Tea went above and beyond with high quality dishes made fresh. However, what took China Tea from a good restaurant to a great one was the wait staff. Specifically, *to the hostess/waitress with blonde hair who served us on 1/3/2020 around 8pm, you were amazing!!*. She memorized everyone's order (particularly impressive for the party of nine that came in after us), was extremely nice about noticing when we were out of water or needed chili sauce, and left an amazing impression on us. *My family hopes that you are saving up for school because you seem extremely intelligent. I wish i could give this place 100 stars. This is definitely a mom and pop type of place. Very small and intimate environment. Typically when i go for lunch, it is just the owners ( husband and wife) and maybe one extra cook in the back. The wife is a one stop shop. She buses tables, takes orders, serves the food and drinks, along with cashing out the customers. If you are the type of person who is very needy and needs your server to make a whole bunch of trips to your table, this is not the place for you. This restaurant is extremely busy with usually only one person doing everything front of house (i think she recently hired a server to help so this may have changed) so make sure you ask for everything you may need when your order is first taken. One of the many reasons why i love this restaurant is not only the food, but how it reminds me of my childhood growing up. When you approach the register, you see a plethora of photos of their child, along with awards the child has won throughout his academic career. It is definitely a tear jerker because you can tell they bust their ass's in that restaurant for their kid.... Anyways... that got super sappy! The food... I come in at least once a week every week for the last year... shall i say more? TL;DR - Adding salt after food is cooked is NOT the same as cooking with salt. If you're trying to avoid salt in your diet, this is the place for you. After reading the reviews I was saddened to find that the food is just okay. Very little of the food seems to have any salt in it. Just a pinch during cooking would improve things tenfold. We started with the pork egg rolls, and mine was okay. My wife found a piece of what looked like raw pork in hers. The fried rice is unique in that it's chock full of ingredients, which I really like. Too bad they didn't use any salt. The pork egg foo young was cooked perfectly, and the sauce has good flavor. But, again, the lack of salt keeps it from being great. The star of the meal was the chicken wings. That was the one item that we would return for (to go). Crispy, hot, and flavorful. Just what a good wing should be. The wings saved this from being a 2-star review. It's kind of disappointing. We love Chinese food, and we're often at Sea World. This could have been our regular spot. If only they'd use a little salt. At least is makes for decent leftovers. read more

Finally! A quick, cheap Chinese restaurant that I can score some delicious food! Since moving to Orlando I have struggled to find some place, other than places like Bento or Pei Wei, to get one of my favorite types of food, but I am happy to say China Tea is my new go to! In Orlando, I have found that most Chinese restaurants lack flavor, quality, consistency and mostly... the meats just feel and taste wrong. After seeing some glowing reviews for China Tea, I finally convinced my fiancé (who dislikes Chinese food) and it did not disappoint! I ordered the General Tsu chicken and they actually ask how spicy you want it. The chicken and rice were fresh and packed with flavors. My fiancé got the ribs and wings and loved them. We will be returning many more time. Why only 4 stars? The schedule for this restaurant is petty weird. On Saturday and Sunday they are only open 5pm-10pm, Mondays they are closed and Tuesday-Friday they are open 11am-5pm close for and hour and then 6pm-9pm.
