In our last two dine in meals at China Villa they got our order wrong. The last meal they forgot our main dish and when we reminded them they forgot and we were waiting to eat so they rush out a very bad dish and so we were so disappointed. Their prices are also expensive for what meal we received. There is something off with their service. I can't recommend China Villa to any of my friends. Too bad! I drop by fairly often for takeout and find China Villa to be a consistent performer - this is my "go to" place for Chinese Takeout near home. I don't recall ever eating in... but who knows with my memory - I may have at some point! The location has easy access for parking, it's part of a large-ish strip mall tucked in behind Krush Burger and Applebee's (across from the movie theater). If you enter from Lonetree, take a left once you pass Applebee's and you'll see it up ahead. There's usually plenty of parking. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a busy place - keep that in mind while ordering. It can often take 20-30 minutes to get your order ready. If they're extremely busy it might take a little longer, but I've found waits longer than 30 minutes to be pretty rare. They'll give you an estimate on the phone, and I've found their estimates to be fairly accurate. I can't think of a time I've ever been disappointed with the food here (and my memory is good about this kind of thing!). The quality, seasoning and so on is very consistent. The Cashew Chicken two years ago is the same as the Cashew Chicken today... the Snow Pea with Prawns mid-day tastes the same as Snow Pea with Prawns near closing time. I pretty much always get the House Special Fried Rice. From that starting point, some of the entrees I particularly enjoy here are: Sweet & Sour Pork, Beef with Broccoli, Fresh Garlic Beef (my favorite in the beef category!), General Chicken, Orange Flavor Chicken, Honey Walnut Prawns, Snow Pea with Prawns, Cashew Nut Prawns (prawn fav!) and Salted Pepper Calamari. For my most recent Chinese food run, I ordered Snow Pea with Prawns, Orange Flavor Chicken and of course House Special Fried Rice. The total hit to my debit card with tax and tip was $40 (I tip, but tip lightly with carryout). This might sound a little steep for two entrees + rice, but given the portion size, I personally think it's a fair deal. Each entree can easily feed two people - we order two entrees strictly for variety... and end up with leftovers for a couple of days. This was the first time I've tried the Orange Flavor Chicken... and WOW, they bring the Orange Flavor! Definitely a fan of that now. If you're used to Orange Chicken from Panda, buckle your seat belt for this stuff! I mean, the Panda stuff is usually pretty decent for what it is... but China Villa's version has significantly more flavor! To summarize for all dishes I've had here... the veggies have always been fresh, the meats are cooked just right... nice and tender... flavors have depth and well balanced. China Villa will definitely stay in a regular rotation for the foreseeable future. I ordered to go for pick up last night. It took me several tries to talk to someone. I have placed an order before for pick up and they answered quickly. Anywho, the food was good. I ordered salt and pepper spare ribs, orange chicken, corn soup and eggplant. I came here last month also for dine in and they check your temp prior to seating using like a temp gun to scan your head. Inside, this place gets super busy. On that day, I also ordered house fried rice and walnut shrimp. The walnut chicken is good too. So far, this is a great spot if your craving Chinese food. read more

Came in for the first time today. I had the Hunan Chicken lunch special. The Good: $ 8.25 for this lunch special included soup, entree, pork fried rice or chicken chow mein, and the egg roll. The service was very good. The Hot and Sour soup was excellent. The pork fried rice and the egg roll were both good, and the hot tea was tasty. The bad: The hot tea was $ 2.50. More expensive than a soda. While the veggies in the entree were obviously fresh, the peas and carrots in the fried rice were bagged, frozen ones. The ugly: The entree was heavily covered in what tasted like seasoned salt, with no Hunan sauce at all. Also, the entree portion was a little small. ( plenty of rice though). really good food good service nice setting. The only thing is is I was extremely tired and I got home. Not sure if it was the food or what! The hot and sour soup is my favorite. I just wish I could have it without tofu also the chow mein noodles I wish they weren't as fat and had more vegetables in them. Other than that I've been looking for a good Chinese food place and I'll just have to commute from Rancho Cordova to here I hope to give it another shot. Have always had a great experience with their takeout service. It can get very busy in here so I of course recommend calling your order ahead of time. Even when waiting inside for a take out order, we never had to wait more than 15 min for our items to be ready. The staff is always so friendly and nice. They have a nice selection on their menu and everything we've ordered so far has been wonderful. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in Rocklin. My recommendations are the orange chicken, and the Hong Kong style crispy chowmein. Nothing is ever too salty or too greasy, or too bland for that matter. Prices are reasonable as well. You'd never know it by looking at the outside, but this is the best Chinese food in the Sacramento area. In fact, it's some of the best I've had anywhere. Super friendly staff, generous portions, and delicious food. The best! One warning--they have always had the best General's Chicken, but we have found that just recently they will precook it and it's cold (or room temp) by the time it gets to the table. We have been going to China Villa for more than a decade. The food was good. However, in the last few years the quality has deteriorated beyond words. It seems they are guaranteed of customers and are so overworked that the chefs and the cooks really don't care what they are dishing out, The curry powder in Singapore Street Noodles had a raw smell and there was too much turmeric. It had no chicken one of the main ingredients but it had sausage. The dish was dry. Hot and Sour was very sour. The heat and the acid in the soup should be balanced. The cook certainly didn't pay attention to how much vinegar he was pouring. The cabbage in the Twice Cooked Pork was too mature and tough. So unless they check their cooks and chefs as to what they are dishing out and know what good Chinese food is, this restaurant has lost my business. read more

Happy Chinese New Year! Chinese New Year happened to fall on a Saturday this year (2020), so they were insanely busy. We usually order food by phone to take out, but chose to eat in tonight. There was a bit of a wait to even get our name on the list, but we were seated pretty quickly after that. We could hear the phones going nuts, and could see everyone was working hard. It did take a while to get our drinks, then for the food to come out, but I never saw a single employee standing around idle. They were constantly bringing food to tables or to-go orders to the front. And I felt the food was well worth the wait My 9-year old ate more food than I've seen her eat in a single meal in a while! She loved everything! She even asked for foods she normally won't eat (zucchini and carrots from the Mixed Vegetables plate). I strongly oppose food waste but ended up throwing the whole order of food after one bite. Fresh garlic chicken was supposed to be hot and spicy but instead it was more like mango chicken in sweet sauce with big pieces of garlic.. Will never order food from here again! China Villa is located in the Krush Burger/ Chef's Table/ Shave Monstter strip mall across the street from RC Wiley Shopping Center. The location is medium sized with standard decor. I ordered one of the Special Dinners for two togo $14.95 pp. The dinner included chicken corn soup, 2 veggie egg rolls, 2 pork spare ribs, 2 deep fried prawns, Broccoli Beef, Honey Walnut Prawns and House Special Fried Rice. The soup was very bland and I had to add soy sauce and pepper for some flavor. The egg rolls and prawns looked and tasted like store bought. The pork spare ribs were surprisingly meaty and not bad for being pre-cooked and re-heated. The broccoli beef was good with broccoli being cooked just right, not to soft not still crunchy. The honey walnut prawns were decent but had a touch too much mayo. The special fried rice was lacking flavor even though it had a decent amount of ingredients. My bill came to a paltry $31.96 and for this part of town, that is a lot of food for a little bit of money. While China Villa isn't going to knock your socks off with their food, it won't dent your budget either. There are better Chinese places in the area but I often don't feel like paying their inflated prices. If you feel like me sometimes give China Villa a try. We sold our house in Roseville and moved to San Antonio at the beginning of September, we've tried 3 places, they not only aren't as good as China Villa, they're not even half as good! For the last several years, I've passed by China Villa on my way to my favorite "big box" sporting goods store, but I never knew the restaurant existed until I heard some of my neighbors raving about it. My visit happened last year and I'm just getting around to "Yelping" about it. Forgive the delay... The dining room is spacious, clean and very comfortable. There are several large, round tables, each one with a lazy susan in the middle of the table, as Chinese food is meant to be shared. The seating is divided equally between tables, and booths. As it was time for lunch, I ordered from the "Lunch Special" section of the menu, that posts a whopping 43 different varieties of lunch plates, most of which are priced at only $7.50, as of this writing. The lunch includes a bowl of soup, if you're dining inside, rather than take-out, the main entree, an egg roll, and your choice of barbecue pork-fried rice, steamed rice, or chicken chow mein. Today, I opted for the #18, which is "Szechuan Pork," and I went with the chicken chow mein, and, of course, hot and sour soup. The lunch plate is BIG, big enough for dinner, and REALLY BIG for lunch; it isn't giant, but I would think it would satisfy any hunger. Everything about my lunch was PERFECT, including the marinated pork, the delicious Chinese sauce, and the vegetables, which retained just enough "crunch" to make them spectacular. The photo really does the meal justice, but trust me, the meal tasted even better than it looks in the photo! I have to confess that I'm a sucker for any Chinese restaurant that serves hot and sour soup, as it's my favorite variety of soup served at Chinese restaurants. China Villa serves delicious hot and sour soup, and when you throw in one of their awesome lunches, it makes for a meal to remember. Including tax, the total came to only $8.08, so by giving my server a 10-spot, plus a 1, that made for a great tip to reward her for her great service, and to let the friendly staff know that I enjoyed one of the best Chinese lunches that I've eaten in a long time. As close to authentic Chinese food you can get here in Roseville/Rocklin! I am a regular here at China Villa... they know me by name. It's as authentic as you can get to Chinese food here in Roseville... it satisfies my Chinese food fix. Great food, clean environment, affordable prices, service is fast for the most part (they do get a full house once in a while), friendly staff, lots of parking space. I've dined-in and placed take out/pick up orders with no problems. They have accommodated our large party of at least 10 or more easily with no hassles. Love all the fried rice, whether beef or BBQ pork or shrimp. My favorite is their Hong Kong-style pan fried noodles. They do have lunch plate specials which comes with either egg drop soup or hot & sour. The soup only comes with the meal if you're dining in. Ordered the hot garlic scallops ( bite size). They were so tasteless. Tasted like they were boiled and thrown into a sauce that was by far not even close to hot. There were more vegs on the plate than scallops. Got a lot of nerve charging 28$ for that. Totally disappointed and mad they could even serve these at that price especially . read more

This Chinese food spot is one of my favorites. The food is always good, fresh, and served with a smile. There was only one time we ordered it for take-out, and it wasn't their best product. However, this was only one time out of the many times we have came to eat there. I will also add the take-out order was during COVID-19, so maybe they were busy/rushed or just adjusting to the new norm. Awful. That food sucked, waste of money. Little cheap frozen tiny prawns for the walnut prawns. Fried Rice was bland. Food is always amazing! My husband enjoys ordering the Sweet & Sour Pork combination plate and I order either the General Chicken or the Kung Pao chicken combination plate. The egg flour soup and the hot and sour soup are delicious! Just be mindful, that you are here to eat delicious food, your drinks will be filled promptly, and your order will come out in a timely fashion. They will most likely bring out the check before you are done eating, but it's not to rush you out. They're just efficient that way. Don't expect to become friends with the staff. They are quick and efficient without all the "fluff." read more
