As far as walk-up/take-out strip mall Chinese goes, this place is awesome. I work about 2 miles west of it, and we've tried every Chinese take-out place in a 4 mile radius. We now only go to China Wok. Not sure if one reviewer was thinking of a different place, but they've been taking my debit card for about 2 or so years now. So don't be discouraged by that! GREAT egg rolls, good rangoons, excellent pork lo mein, decent hot & sour soup, good kung pao chicken, sesame chicken, cashew chicken, and I've heard my co-worker rave about the beef & broccoli. I order take-out General Tso, which turned out to be 5% stringy, chewy chicken bits and 95% breading. The sauce was okay though a little too sweet. My boyfriend got Singapore Mei Fun. He said it was average. I personally didn't like the dry curry flavor, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be. The crab rangoon was okay. Terrible experience! I have been coming to this place for a couple of years because it is in my neighborhood. But for the first time, I received a takeout order in the evening for a quick family dinner. We ordered close to $40 of food and we all shared several dishes on our plates. After eating the variety, I noticed my Shrimp Egg Foo Young wasn't the same. As I chewed it became apparent that it was not shrimp. So, I called the restaurant and told them my order was incorrect. It had pork or something rather than shrimp. A lady abruptly said bring it in tomorrow. I had 1 patty left and brought it in the next afternoon. I nicely said," I spoke to you last night about getting the wrong order and handed her the leftover to show her it wasn't shrimp." Then the drama began. She started loudly yelling, "why didn't you bring all the food back! Where is the rice and gravy?" I told her my family and I were sitting down eating all the varieties on our plates, the food was eaten out of. Therefore, I was unable to scrape the food left on the plates and bring it in. She still argued with me about me telling her it was pork. She even went and got some pork and said, "this is what pork looks like!" In amazement on why she was accusing me of lying I just said, "lady, I am not lying, only trying to tell you the order was wrong. She kept screaming, and now saying, I will give you your money back, but you said it was pork and you didn't bring all the food back! I took the money and said, I will not be back. She screamed, "I don't care if you don't come back!" Well, I am very disappointed. I just wanted to tell her the order was wrong. It was not worth getting so upset over a few dollars. I turned and walked out the door, and still heard her hollering. I know everybody has a bad day, but please don't take it out on your most loyal patrons. I won't be returning. The food was ok here but more of a convenience since it was close. But I am going back to my old Chinese restaurant on the other side of town where the food was excellent. This is a very popular place and the food is good. I love going here whenever I do laundry (it's next to a laundromat) and just in general. The food is good and they are fast with service. Bad customer service and order accuracy, and the food was waaaaaaay below par Never argue with a customer when you forget part of their order I ordered thru DoorDash and when I received my chow mein I received only a big jar of vegetables, zero noodles. Since this was all my kids wanted to eat I called to see if we could fix it. Nope. The person who answered the phone told me I was wrong and he had added noodles on the side in the bag. I unloaded the bag, no noodles. Nothing. Double checked. Nope. Still told I was wrong. Would not listen. Tried to blame the DoorDash driver. Never apologized, just claimed I was not looking. Acted like I was too stupid to understand Chow Mein noodles. I was treated terribly, like a liar. Why would I call about missing noodles if I wasn't actually missing noodles? The bean curd was badly cooked and disgusting. The vegetables in it were the frozen peas and carrots you buy for .99cents in the freezer aisle. The vegetable egg rolls were all cabbage with a small sliver of carrot. The garlic broccoli was limp and tasted gross, the fried was nasty. No one ate. Luckily DoorDash refunded my money and I ordered my Chow Mein from a competitor who ACTUALLY gave us what we ordered. Word to the wise, pick somewhere else read more

Super good. We get hunan shrimp, shrimp fried rice, shrimp lo mein...all very good. Their dumplings are a little heavy-handed, but the filling is high quality & yummy. Also, you can see the whole kitchen and the place is incredibly clean, which gives me that warm fuzzy feeling. The egg rolls were good and hot, veggies were cooked well but the chicken was so horrible it ruined our entire meal. It was hard , stringy and very hard to chew. I was at my office working late and hadn't had good chinese food in quite a while. I ordered the chicken lo mein and crab rangoon via Door Dash. Door Dash was a very good experience and the crab rangoon was some of the best I've had; however the chicken lo mein was SO DISAPPOINTING. It had no flavor whatsoever. It literally tasted like something was missing. When I called to let the manager know he said I could bring the food back and they'd give me something else or return my money. I was like but I'm hungry NOW! He said he was sorry and repeated himself again. I will be making a stop to return this food and will not repeat business here again. read more

This is my go to Chinese take out place. The food is about what you would expect for the price and I always feel like I get a good amount for my money here. My g to is the Hot and Sour Soup, Crab Ragoon and Orange Chicken. Is it the most gourmet Chinese ever? No, but its good take out and I tried quite a few other places in the area. Shame on them. It was actually the owners wife that was the one that was so rude to me. Absolutely horrible service. Have been going there for 10 years and ordered something different off the menu and got it back to the office and it had completely different ingredients than listed on the menu. I did he eat a few pieces of the shrimp but then stopped because it wasn't any good. I have a hard time with carrots and celery so I don't order them with anything and it was mostly carrots and celery (which were not listed as ingredients ) and a few water chestnuts, cashews and shrimp. When I took it back they refused to give me my money or a new meal because she kept screaming but you ate some shrimp. I did I was hungry but I couldn't eat anymore. This is my first time here. I was very pleased with the General Tso chicken. The combo was enough to fill me up and I could share with my baby(bonus)! The chicken was heavy on breading and light on chicken. I did like the sweetness of the sauce... it balanced out the saltyness of the soy sauce. The price is average for this type of take out place. I have been to a lot of Chinese restaurants and this place has got to be my favorite. I would not necessarily recommend it as a sit-down place, but for carryout it is the best in my opinion. Yeah, so maybe you can't understand the lady that is taking your orders, but with General's Chicken that good I can never complain. The people working here seem nice enough. So I see some reviews that don't make sense. I did some investigating to find out people are reviewing 1 of 2 china Woks. The one I am going to talk about is on Allisonville and 96th street. The food here is great, they are very clean, and the food is very inexpensive for the amount you get, and very flavorful. My family eats here once a week. We introduced our out of town friends to this China Wok and now they want to eat here when they visit. You can also tell them if you want another ingredient, or if you want one taken out my daughter dosent like mushrooms so we take them out, and I like alot heat to mine so I add Chinese hot sauce. Definitely my favorite around here (my favorite had been China's Best in Zionsville but that closed recently). Their egg rolls are A+, can't be beat. They have just enough grease to make it feel fresh and hot out of the fryer but you don't have to pat them off like some nasty pizza or like most other places' egg rolls. Their rice is usually one of my favorite things but tonight it was a big sub-par. Don't let this fool you though, because they make up for any small short comings with their Sesame Chicken and their Lo Meins. My wife and I were looking for a good Chinese take out restaurant this evening and we decided to try "China Wok" it was close to home and had decent reviews, so we figured we'd give it a shot. We ordered General Tso's Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Crab rangoons, chow mein, an egg roll and some won ton soup. We picked up the food and took it home. We started off with the Won ton soup, which was in fact delicious and some of the best won ton soup we had ever tasted! Next we tried the crab rangoon also good. Then we got into the entrees, the chicken. My wife and I popped the lids of our chicken containers and poked our chicken which first off was drowning and I mean DROWNING in sauce and not good sauce I might add, stringy not flavorful sauce ugh gross. We tried having one or two bites of the chicken but it was literally falling apart as we were trying to fork it into our mouths, it was so wet and soggy from the sauce. Rubbery, did I mention the chicken was rubbery? So I thought hmm let me pop this into the oven and see if we can crisp this chicken up a little bit. 15 mins of 425 and it was still rubbery. My wife and I looked at each other and said, "This is not good! We need to take this back". So we called and spoke with the manager and he seemed like he was going to be somewhat accommodating so we grabbed our coats, grabbed the food and went and took the bad food back. We arrived at the restaurant had brought our receipt as well. We showed the manager and told him what was wrong. He hesitated and looked at the food like he didn't believe us that the chicken entrees were not good and then he picked up the general tso's and noticed it was in a different container which we had put into a smaller leftover container from the wonton (we had thrown away the general tso's container) he then accused us of eating most of the general tso's (Well yeah we TRIED to eat some of it, that's how this food thing works). We could tell he was doubting our story like we looked like a bunch of hoodlums and do this sort of thing all the time. I'm guessing this isn't the first time someone has returned their food judging by his defensive reaction to us. Needless to say he finally gave us a refund and WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK! read more

How does this place have such good reviews? It's completely sub-par, except in service where it's just downright bad. The food is simply okay. I had chicken and broccoli and it was salty, which I like, but some people may not. I also had dumplings, which were tasty, but the dough was gummy and not completely cooked. The service, as I said, was bad. The lady behind the counter was rude and unwelcoming, she acted as though we were bothering her by placing an order. I came because of the good reviews this place has, but I was sorely disappointed. Maybe take-out is better than the dine-in. read more
