I guess I should start off by saying that I've been coming here for a years and I mean years..... I know that this restaurant has changed hands at least three times ,,, And for a very, very strange reason, it always taste the same.... Still good after all these years. I guess you can say that this is my go to Chinese food place. I still remember one of the first times I came to this location. I was in high school, around late 80s ..... And ever since then I've been coming to this location, no matter who is working the counter. They were always friendly and nice. Always greeted you with a smile and always made you feel very welcomed. I've always liked their food. I've seen people complaining. Other people say there's better blah blah blah but to me it's always been really good and delicious.. As for the location itself, it's your average neighborhood Chinese food spot. It's clean and very simple I guess like most spots. Of course not everybody's gonna like it as much as I do, but that's completely understandable. We're all different and we have different taste. Do I have a better Chinese food place to go to? I'm not going to lie of course I do. but it's more expensive. It's out of my ways and for me this is quick. It's convenient. The food is good. The people are nice and I've been coming here practically half of my life...... Pretty decent Chinese fast food. The dish ordering process is similar to Panda Express where you get a choice of rice or chow mein and a few choices of entrees depending on which combo you choose. The ladies at the front of the store are very nice, so if you're confused about the menu, they'll happily assist you! I chose combo A which is fried rice, chow mein, and the choice of one entree. The vegetable tofu stir fry was my entree and it was pretty good. A very flavorful vegetarian option. The chow mein was pretty good as well; I liked that they used thick fried noodles. The fried rice wasn't too good. The texture of the rice was pretty hard and it tasted like school cafeteria rice. Besides the rice, it was really decent Chinese fast food. I've been on the hunt for different Chinese takeout spots in the area, so tried this one on a weekday right before they were about to close around 8:30 PM. When I got there, most of the dishes were almost empty so I would suggest come earlier in the day for fresh food. I got combo A for about eight dollars. It comes with one entrée. The fried rice is not good. I think they use brown rice which makes it taste odd but also the rice isn't really seasoned so it was just kind of rice and vegetables with no seasoning. The noodles were pretty typical and the barbecue pork was OK! Food is a 6/10 overall for me but if you're craving takeout I'm not sure if it'll hit the spot! I don't normally eat Chinese fast food but I had to try this place because my bf was obsessed with their orange popcorn chicken. He said they make it very crunchy and juicy meat with good taste of sweet and sourness. So I was excited to try too! We got here, not many people, but overall place is neat and clean. The lady was really welcoming and she recommended us the spicy popcorn chicken. We were curious so we ordered it. We got the chow mein with original and spicy popcorn chicken. Sadly, the chicken was soggy and bland. Also the temperature of the food was lukewarm, so it was sad for both of us. Before I heard their chicken quality never failed. I have been coming to get Chinese food here since 2014. The food here isn't anything fancy or gourmet, it's a simple and cheap Chinese takeout spot. The rice and chow mein in comparison to other spots is way better here, trust me I eat a lot of Chinese takeout. The side items are amazing. I mix it up from time to time but the best two menu items I get here often are the red spicy wings and the potato chicken. The broccoli beef is also a solid choice. They have plenty of options for you to chose as far as drink go. The have sodas to teas. The price for a stacked plate with two side items and drink is under ten dollars. I'm not so sure why this spot doesn't get more love, every time I dine in the line forms up quick. The ladies behind the counter are friendly and very helpful. They are very generous with their portions for the price (Everything attached came with the combo C), but that's were the pros end. The chow mein and the fried rice were both mushy and not great. The food is ok for what it is. It's a fast food Chinese place. I came in to order the 3 item combo and got the chicken wings, orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp. The spicy orange chicken has no spice like most other place's spicy orange chicken but it wasn't bad at all. The walnut shrimp was soggy and was more batter than shrimp and has chunks of pineapple that kind of overpowered everything. Fried chicken was dry but the jalapeños gave it a decent kick. What pissed me off about the service here is that they up charged me $1 for the honey walnut shrimp without telling me until I looked at the receipt. They said that they didn't know if it was my first time and assumed I knew about the upcharge but if that's the case shouldn't you assume that it's my first time and just tell me? Then she pointed to a tiny little label on the corner of the glass case saying shrimp was $1. Eat here at you own risk. I asked for for freshly cooked chicken and shrimp fried rice and this is what I got. They took old rice, old shrimp that was breaded for some odd reason, and "chicken" that was definitely not chicken, beef or pork. This is not what they advertise. When I told the 2 ladies that I didn't want the old fried rice from underneath the lamp and old "chicken" and shrimp just reheated from this afternoon, they insisted that this was cooked fresh. I didn't make a scene but I told them I will definitely know when I taste it....and sure enough...it was old food refried with more grease. I specifically said very light oil. Decided to try this place for a quick snack. They have an A so I felt ok about walking in and ordering. They have a decent selection of dishes set up like Panda Express style. I tried the Potatoes with sliced beef in a light gravy (almost like a semi beef stew). They were tasty and hit the spot. The food was warm which isnt always the case at such places. I hate writing bad reviews and if you look you will see I rarely do. I came here today. I ordered a bowl with noodles and kung pao chicken. First off I had to ask what everything was because it all looked strange...color wise including the kung pao. It was all beige with the celery and green peppers a slight faded green. My first instinct was to leave which I guess I should have. Anyways I took it home and as the color was beige the flavor was non existent. I couldn't taste the chicken, there was very little flavor in the sauce at all and no peanuts...not sure that is important but isn't that something in every kung pao? I ended up eating only a few bites but had to add a ton of chile sauce that I have at home. I put the remaining portion in my frig but doubt I will end up eating it.
