Want to try new places now I missed my old place. The Egg Foo Young taste like it was made prior and frozen and taken out for order not fresh, the shrimp I ordered extra of all 12 where not cooked through still raw and doughy. They took over 40 mins to make my order I called it in and still waited after I arrived. Edible not great not worth the trip. read more

I'd like to say I've never found general tso's chicken that I can't eat or don't like. well I found it and they serve it here. It's not spicy it's mainly just chopped up zucchini which is a cooked very much, the zucchini was harder than the peanuts were on top. I should have known something was up when there's no cars in the parking lot except one parked way in the back which I assume is the owners. There is a really good cook/s here who make bomb American Chinese. They also have at least one cook who, if I can identify what days/nights they are on, I would stay away those times. I tried the fried rice one time and have not given it a second chance. The good cook does S&S ribs so tender and delicious. The other cook's ribs are tough. The good cook's S&S chicken is perfectly sauced, hot, fried perfectly and so unctuous. The other cook's has less sauce and last time was a little cold and stringy. Sometimes the almond chix with the gravy is good. Sometimes it is not. I have started getting the sesame chix instead and a side of gravy. The egg roll is huge with a crunchy coating and filled with cabbage and bean sprouts and small pieces of some kind of ground meat. Sometimes it's really good and sometimes it is just ok. I'm not sure if the filling varies, but sometimes it seems to have or not have the little meat bits. Strangely, even though it seems like a huge log of fried WTF, it's a satisfying eat. Bottom line it can be really, really good. OR you get the other cook. I am a basic B** and always order the same thing for takeout. Past the food quality issues, it always comes quick and well packaged. Order is always correct and the staff is attentive and friendly/polite. They have good fortune cookies. I always tip. read more

Was robbed of my money last night before closing. I ordered take out over the phone for me, my mother and one year old daughter... This man handed me take out that wasn't even mine, let alone I didn't even realize until I got home. I had to call them and drive all the way back (it's roughly 8pm) because I got disrespected and hung up on. The police had to be called but they always take their sweet time. The restaurant was closing up and all he could do (man in photos) is laugh and tell me how the police never show up or they take hours until they show. So as I'm sitting down patient and quiet. The owner starts blackmailing me saying "if the police show up I'll give you $20 back." While continuing to laugh at me. He also charged me $40 for less than two combos... and refused to give me my change back.. knowing the order was ALSO INCORRECT. Mind you I'm doing my best to stay calm. The police never showed, the man continued to harass me while I was in his lobby... following me outside... I then did something a bit shameful, but the food I PAID For that WASNT MINE, I splatted all over there outside lobby doors..sucks to suck but he and this other female started happily recording me and my minor daughter getting all in my face at the passenger back window. Blocking traffic from letting us leave or other customers. I called non emergency to relay what had happened. Yet I still never got my food or money back. To add in ; that video is much longer but it had to be clipped for posting purpose. The end of the video it shows him at my window with his camera to the glass - you hear me say plenty of times they took my money, I say it one last time at the end of the video which isn't seen but the man replied back "thank you you're welcome" admitting he knows he took my money... Our go too for when those cravings for old school Americanized-Chinese food hits. It's not the "best" there is, but it's certainly far from the "worst" we've endured. We usually get to go or delivery because it fits better with our needs. They have a decent online presence so ordering is usually no issue. Dining in, the decor and atmosphere can be a downer for some, but keep your expectations in check. It's par for the course for these types of eateries, and far more "civilized" than some of the truly authentic Chinese food dives we've been to. Service for us has always been friendly and quick. Fried rice and lo mein selections are always guaranteed go to's. BBQ pork too. Deep fried selections not over-battered like found elsewhere. Not a fan of sweet and sour in general, so I'll leave it at that. Non-authentic gloppy chow mein selections with crispy noodles and egg foo youngs (with brown gravy no less!) bring back some pleasant childhood memories. Common theme among the savory selections is saltiness, but expected given the soy sauce bases. Sweeter selections tend to be a bit much for our taste and we usually ask for it on the side. If you order one of the wide variety of combination plates, you better be really hungry and prepared to take some leftovers. Portions, even on the proteins, are sizable enough for two. If you're looking for high end Peking Duck, Ginger-Scallion Crab, steamed ground pork with salt preserved fish, or delicate dim sum selections, this isn't the place for you. Food is devoid of taste flavor. Crab puffs have a glob of imitation crab. Egg roll is a deep fried mess with out any seasoning. The sesame chicken is fried chicken strips with a few sesame seeds in the batter. No sauce. Curry chicken had more broccoli than anything. Including sauce. Gross, inedible food. I ordered the House Fried Rice. Pretty basic dish. The rice was clumpy and dry, the chicken and pork super dry, beef flimsy and shrimp mushy. Everything tasted old. The rice was oddly dark brown (too much soy sauce?) but had NO flavor. I added soy sauce which I never do. Fried shrimp appetizer looked great, nicely fried with a puffy coating but the inside of the batter was undercooked and the shrimp were not firm but soft. $31 for these two items that were inedible. Well my order was missing the fried rice I ordered but I overlooked that. I ate the food, it wasn't bad tasting. The chicken chow mein was not what I expected it's more like chicken soup with very little noodles but I ate it and omg I got food poisoning really really bad. I have never gotten food poisoning from eating at a restaurant I could not stop throwing up and It was right before I had to go to work I was so sick and in pain finally a staff member had zofran and it helped tremendously. I am sad that when I called to explain our issues with our order, the "manager" told me "if you don't like it, don't order from here"... Let me sum up our order: 1) Chicken chow mein- we received bean sprouts with vegetables and not an ounce of chicken or noodles. Chow mein is and to most Chinese stir fried noodles 2) If you ask for hot sauce, you will get cocktail sauce, apparently they have been doing this for 25 yrs from what we were told. So, the almond chicken my husband put hot sauce on was cocktail sauce, sick! 3) Pork fried rice, it's bbq pork on top of rice that is flavored with just enough soy sauce to add color and that is it.. do not be fooled by pictures online. It's a few pieces of dry dry dry pork with rice, that is IT!! 4) Almond fried chicken- you couldn't cut it with a fork, per my Mother-in-law, better off making gravy from a package and more batter then chicken which honestly better off with just the batter, no chicken, no gravy!! And almonds so hard you could chip a tooth. Which, this is the first time ever that I have had almonds on this dish, it's supposed to be fried in an almond batter 5) hot and sour soup which was my only hope and all time favorite, my go to and never ever have had any complaints, seriously, all honestly smelled like someone with morning breath... 6) Orange chicken- might as well just pour a lb of sugar, mix with soy sauce and pour it over what they call "chicken". There you go, fair warning and if you order after reading, I'm sorry! Trust me, this is my first review.. The service is a disgusting as the spoonful of mold in the soup. When I showed the server she quickly apologized and removed the soup, but when I showed the idiot who is most likely the owner/manager he laughed and said it was just egg whites. Delicious Chinese Food, pure and simple! For years my family's go to has been Beef Tomato Curry Noodles. At the beginning of this pandemic I had been to another restaurant and ordered it was bad. In fact inedible and I threw most of it away. But CHINESE GARDEN had the most delicious beef, vegetables, curry, noodles and sauce that made me smile and realize why I had been there in the past and why I will return. Stopped in for dinner and a couple drinks. Was hoping to put a couple bucks in the video machines. As I'm looking at the menu the bartender says to me if you're ordering food you'll have to go next-door I'm too busy. I said OK can I order alcohol in there? She says I'll serve you but you have to wait. I looked around and there was only six people in the entire restaurant. I said if you're too busy to serve me I'll just take my money and go elsewhere. And she was fine with that. So I went a block away and had Chinese food that was very good and I will never be back to this establishment again. My experience at the Chinese gardens is such that, yes the food was hot and fresh, however. The waitress was extremely rude to my family and I, and demanded a tip. She never even gave us an option. She did not speak to us with respect, it was all about the money with her. She was rude to my children, she told them to "sit down". When in fact one of them had to use the restroom. My child is 5yrs. Of age and didn't deserve this. I will never go back to this restaurant because of the way me and my family was treated. They seem to be more concerned about the money than customer service. I don't recommend anyone go to this restaurant. You will be treated rudely and with disrespect!. If you're looking for a good around the way Chinese joint.. this is your spot! Perhaps a bit rough around the edges.. it's actually my favorite place near my house! Food: AWESOME portions & I love the chefs. I personally get house fried rice, potstickers, bbq pork or garlic shrimp. They have awesome combos if you're into that too. Super cheap happy hour appetizers in the bar, dine in only but it's worth it! Now, as for the service. If you sit in the bar just prepare yourself. They are hood... why? Because YOURE IN THE HOOD. Fried chicken, sweet and sour ribs, and pork, finished with pork fried rice. Ribs - Absolutely dreadful. No flavor, rubbery, left an awful sensation and taste in my mouth. Pork - Bland, dry, tasted like it was frozen. It was also very tough and unpleasant. Fried chicken - Doused in a sauce, but crust was a little bland and so was the chicken. Moist, but also a saving grace. Not enough to recommend. Fried rice was typical, but very good. Overall, would never recommend to anyone with taste buds. Tragic, really. Almost insulting. read more

The food here is delicious and the prices are reasonable. I had been going here for quite some time until recently. I wouldn't suggest eating here if you have children, though. I brought in my three well-behaved kiddos and the server pitched an attitude once she saw them. Slammed their water down in front of them and didn't say a word to anyone at our table. We got up and walked out. I told the supervisor how ridiculously inappropriate the service was and she did not seem to care at all. I had put off going here as from the outside it looked to be pricey. However in looking over th menus the prices about what you would expect anywhere. The food was very tasty, and spiced just enough for flavor but not enough to overwhelm a mild palate. If yo like hot amd spicy, than the food woudl be too mild for you. This is the closest restaurant to me and I think I go an average of twice a week. Why? Because it's awesome, that's why! The food here is super cheap and super tasty. Popping in for dinner after work is always a treat since there are so many options for so cheap. I usually get almond or sesame chicken with crab puffs and they're always spot on.
