What's going on with Chipotle in Metro Detroit? It's unbelievable how bad all of the locations are, though this one on Haggerty is by far the worst. I stopped in tonight with my kids, and this visit was officially my last. The place was a total mess - the burrito station was visibly dirty, hadn't been wiped down for a while. The tables between the counter and the grill were literally full of empty containers, stacked multiple layers high, so it was clear this was building up for a few hours. I can't imagine what the coolers look like inside. Workers were basically zombies, barely there, zero hustle. I've come to expect this at area Chipotles, so it didn't faze me that much. It's our turn to order. I usually make my selection based on what's looking freshest, but all of the proteins were at the bottom, so I opted for carnitas because they're consistently a safe option. Veggies were a soggy mess, pass. Pico was basically just tomatoes, no onion, no jalapeño, no flavor. Salsa verde had no heat. No corn salsa. And then the kicker - no chips. No chips? Chips have to be where they make the most profit - how can you ever run out?! The managers excuse was that they were short staffed today. The kids meals are supposed to offer chips or fruit, no fruit either. The best he could do was to not upcharge for guac (which he did without me asking). The potions here also make no sense. The worker building our bowls was out of control on portions - gave my son two scoops of guacamole tried giving me two scoops of pico. The handful of shredded cheese was twice as big as it should be. He could barely put the lids on the bowls because they were so full. I want to get a decent value at a restaurant, but this is to the point where it's gotta be losing them money. My son would eat Tex mex every day, and loves guac, but he admitted that there was so much guac it was ruining his meal. No one wants a guac bowl with a side of chicken, rice, and beans. For a while, I thought this was just a gradual decline of what was once a great chain. But recently, I was on 75 outside of Cincinnati and stopped at a Chipotle. This place was night and day to the Metro Detroit locations. Super clean, friendly staff, competent manager, quick service, fresh and tasty food. 10/10. People know it too... all of the tables were full. This has me convinced this is 100% a management problem. Corporate needs to fire the regional manager and all store managers. They're always understaffed which is a hiring and scheduling problem. Hire more people. Staff more people per shift to cover the inevitable people that don't show. Other businesses in the area and other Chiptoles outside of the area don't have this problem. Complete management failure. If they still have that Undercover Boss show, this would be a perfect location to feature. Chipotle corporate, if you're listening, I dare you to visit this location unannounced. Spent close to $40 on lunch for two adults and one child during the holiday season. Service was extremely slow even though there were at least 5 employees seen "working". They were out of multiple items on the line, but made our food while they waited for those items to be restocked, then served us the cold food. My son's quesadilla was not melted correctly, so it fell apart while he was trying to eat it. Both Coke dispensers were out of order the entire time we were in the restaurant. Meanwhile, employees were seen socializing and one even sat down in the restaurant to eat during the busy lunch rush. I reached out to Chipotle customer service after our visit. They offered me a coupon for a free kids meal that needed to be used within 30 days. I explained that we would not be returning that soon to use a coupon due to it being the holiday season and also how expensive it was to eat sub-par food. They then offered to refund me $4.40. I was told they could not do anything else for me after a few emails arguing back and forth. Chipotle is a multi-billion dollar corporation. The food on the menu is too overpriced to offer your customers below average anything. Either change your prices to reflect what you're actually serving or do better all around. And listen to and take care of your customers when they have legit complaints. 10% refund on inferior and unsatisfactory food and service is pathetic and unacceptable. read more

Always missing things from my order when I order online and pick it up from the drive through. I still get charged for the missing items. When I walk in the staff are very slow and I wait for 40 minutes until my turn. When my turn finally comes they tell me that they are missing on a lot of things especially with chicken. This chipotle is new and lacks leadership. They open at 10:45 but aren't truly ready to serve customers till about 11:30! because they are just making the guacamole or the meat is just being grilled. Got steak as a component for three of us and we all agree that this was by far, the worst "steak" we've ever, in our entire lives. If you could even call it steak. It was so bad that every single piece was either a big piece of fat that HAD to be spit out or was so chewy that it too HAD to be spit out. It was completely inedible. This had us all actually wondering what type of meat it was, honestly. We've never had such terrible meat. The quality here has been steadily declining and I'm not sure how much lower they can go. A refund is all I want. We didnt even want to eat the rice the steak was with because we didn't trust it and tossed that too. We won't be back here, at least not for a very long time. The quality of the food is horrible. This once was a really good location but not anymore. The place is always a mess and they're usually out of food when we go in so this was the final straw. It's 2pm and I wish I could be more optimistic. This is the worst run Chipotle I've been to. Outside the front door, garbage was overflowing from the rubbish bins. When I go to the counter to order, the meat looked dried out and only slightly appealing. Since I was hungry, I gave it a shot. No cheese?? At a Chipotle?? The dining area was a mess. Food and garbage on the floor and the tables. No general maintenance. All of the tea selections were empty. Who ever owns this franchise needs to get involved, immediately. Lots of young workers with very little pride in their work. I did mention the issue to one young lady who said I'm sorry about that. But still with no customers at the counter now, no one is taking the responsibility to address anything in the dining area or the overflowing garbage. Get it together. Not sure how the system works but it seems like someone marked the order as complete in the system when it had not been prepared at all. This is normal for this location. They had garbage bags piled up. It was not clean. We keep giving them a chance but this was the last straw. read more
