This is the first time in about 5 years that a chipotle was disappointing. There were dirty tables they were not wiped down for new guests to sit. The assembly line was extremely slow. Most of the food options were out and the response was "we're out". About 2:00 in the afternoon and it seems like they were out of everything. Workers seemed annoyed and stressed. Their work area was extremely messy. They were not trying at any point to tidy up and wipe anything down . Garbage was filled to the top that many had to leave it in the side. Really the worst part of it was finally cleaning my own table to sit and taking a bite out of the food and the chicken was so damn SALTY. Two bites in and my son said, "what the hell this is so salty!" He rarely comments on food. It was truly not edible, we picked at it and finally decided to leave. Dissatisfied to say the least. This location has never been this bad. Though historically not the best location, whoever has been in charge of it for the 6-12 months is running it to the ground. They are constantly out of things during all hours of the day. The location is a mess always. There's a bunch of employees but no one is ever doing anything, just sitting around talking. What seems like the manager is doing nothing about it and just always in the back or on the register. It's a shame that this is what's going on. Look at the amount of bad reviews. I went inside the store to order a chicken salad. I really liked my meal, and it was very filling. There was no pooling of liquids or anything soggy at the bottom. The chicken tasted very good, and I'm glad I got the queso even thought it was an extra $2.50. Tip: get the salad instead of a bowl because a salad is the same thing but just has a layer of lettuce at the bottom. The workers making the food were apathetic (but that's such a relatable mood). When ordering, the ingredients were neat and stocked. The cashier though was quite bubbly and made sure to confirm everything we said, which sometimes can be misheard because of masks. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This particular Chipotle pretty consistently makes you wait 20 minutes or more past the time your order is promised. They are also often out of key items. On my most recent order: 1. They made me wait because the online order shelf is kept behind the counter and no one would wait on me to give me the bag. So then of course my food was cold. 2. The order was missing my side of chips and guacamole 3. My meal was missing both the protein and the guacamole. If you can avoid this particular store and score your Chipotle elsewhere, do so. UPDATE: Gave them another chance the very next day (customer service didn't refund my purchase but gave me credits) and it was another terrible bit of service. They again made me wait 20 minutes past the time the order was promised. They were again out of a key item (chips) but didn't bother to tell me, just left them out of my side of chips and queso. I guess I was supposed to eat the quest with my hands. The toppings on my burrito bowl bore little resemblance to what I asked for. Customer service again wanted to give me credit for free food, but you can only use one free offer per order and you have to use all free stuff within 30 days. Located the at front corner of food court entrance is a Chipotle. Who doesn't love chipotle, like really?! It has rice, wraps, chips and guacamole and for meat lovers as well as vegans. I've been here so many times with my kids and every time, the line is horrible and out the door. If I didn't know better, I would think they are giving out food for free. I try to eat other eateries at the mall when we get discouraged with waiting. The line does move slowly as you know everyone likes to make complicated orders. My fav is the chicken bowl with cilantro lime rice and all veggies (lettuce, corn, tomatoes, grilled onions and peppers) and don't forget the cheese, sour cream and my gauc! The do have kids meal and it comes with chips or fruits and chocolate milk or fountain drink. My kids love it so no complaints. Tables and seatings here are limited so make sure you come off busy hours like lunch/dinner time or take it to go and eat out at the food court. read more

I am giving it a 3 rather than a two based on the friendliness and helpfulness of the cashier there. Otherwise it was kind of disappointing. I had a salad and although it was very filling as they don't short you on ingredients, it was pretty tasteless because the lettuce was water-logged. In fact, there was a small puddle of water at the bottom of my bowl in addition to the abundance of water in the dish causing the flavors in my bowl to dissipate. I enjoyed my meal besides the cold queso. I really don't have much negative to say about to food besides the fact that they didn't have any salsa, nope, none of the spicy red, none of the medium green nor the chopped mild tomatoes.. they also seemed to be running low on sour cream , mind you it was only 7pm. But again I still enjoyed my food. Honestly, I felt bad for the guy making my food. I ordered ahead, and my order wasn't ready but you could sew that he started it, but since he also had to help assist with making food for customers in line, as well as manning the register, on top of making online orders, I could see he was overwhelmed. Nonetheless he handled it like a champ. But I have to say the atmosphere in there was very melancholy to say the least. So I wasn't going to initially write a review but after noticing something that just happened -I had to. As I was standing in line waiting to place my order - a mother had her kids with her and one of the kids ended up spilling a whole container of food on the floor in Chipotle. Two of the workers recognized this and went up to her and asked her if everything was ok; told her not to worry about cleaning anything up and then proceeded to tell her they would give her another plate of food for her loss. Granted, although the food initially wasn't from Chipotle, they told her she didn't have to worry about paying for the meal from the other restaurant and replaced her food. I thought this was so AMAZING because they really didn't have to do that and the young mother whose child dropped the food was extremely GRATEFUL for this. This was GREAT SERVICE because they really didn't have to do this so I COMMEND THEM for that excellent gesture and this just validated my decision for continuing to be a Chipotle customer!!!! Kudos to the two young men that helped this mother and her toddler replace there meal!!! Was there last night with my girlfriend. The attendant was putting together our orders, and after he assembled our bowls he then informed us that they are not taking credit cards. We told him we didn't bring cash with us and he then proceeded to throw away our bowls. I understand there are days where the credit card machine does not work however, he needed to inform us before we began our order not after we got to the counter. I never think to bring cash to chipotle, I always just use apple pay, it broke my heart to see him assemble the perfect bowl only to throw it away moments later. read more

I ordered two burrito bowls. The one that was awful was the steak bowl. The quantity, quality and taste of the steak was dreadful. The bits of steak were tiny, over-cooked, grisly and salty. The portion was meager, mostly likely because the container was near empty. The veggies were worse, There probably wasn't more than a few tablespoons of veggie remnants left in the container. When I asked the server if she could add some more to my bowl from the rear station where they fill online orders, the woman working that station (who was likely the manager) curtly said "No. If there isn't any left, we're out." There are three Chipotle stores near my home. The store I went to in Menlo Park Mall, a store in Metuchen NJ, and a third further away on Rt 1 in South Edison. I've given up on Metuchen, as you can never tell when it will be open or what they'll have to offer. The Menlo Park store had previously been dependable, but those days are apparently gone. The last two visits were disappointing, like this visit. I would need to have a serious urge for Chipotle to drive to the South Edison store. I doubt I'll ever get those urges, read more

I went to order in store today. I got home (I live maybe 5mins away from this Chipotle). My chicken is cold my rice is cold there was 2 big chunks of the lettuce core in my bowl. The food line was dirty and they barely had any food left (it was 5pm). Honestly haven't been to a chipotle since I was in middle school. I'd usually pic qdoba because guac isn't an extra cost but I decided to try chipotle again because of their advertised vegan and vegetarian bowls. I picked the sofritas with veggies bowl and I was super surprised about how good it was. I was expecting chain tofu to be dry and gross but it was the complete opposite. I'd highly recommend switching to tofu over any of their meat options because it is healthier in my opinion. I also remember opting chipotle out of all the food options at this mall due to the line being crazily out the door no matter what time it was. I visited this chipotle today at 7:55 pm. Not only were the floors and counters a mess, but we waited in line for at LEAST 10 minutes before being helped. Not even a greeting from the staff or told to please wait. The person who assisted us did not greet us or ask what we wanted and just stared at us. We then waited to be checked out for another 5 minutes, so long that I almost walked out without my meal. My sister whispered "this is ridiculous" and the manager instigated a fight by saying "whats ridiculous you see there's 3 people right" The staff was downright rude and out of half the food there, if you can't act respectful at least do us the favor and close the location down. We are longtime chipotle consumers. We used to drive 20 minutes to the chipotle in New Brunswick when there was no closer option to us. The last 3 times I have been this chipotle in Woodbridge, they have not had the fajitas and pico. That is disappointing but it is ok. I told this to the worker to check if they had more. The person working in the back had it out, but did not want to cook. They continued to serve it to the customers after us. We wanted to check out and leave and then the worker started to ask us if we thought she was dumb, and she walked away frantically even with the line at least 15 people behind us. Then her friend who was working the online order, started to curse at us saying "your mom..." several times and each and every customer in line heard this. Please pull it up on the camera just for you guys to look at. Just to share our experience, my mother in law recently passed away after being a lifetime chef at our family restaurant business that is still running on Oak Tree Rd in Edison. Even us, as a small business running since 1990, have not had any situation close as this. To make it even worse, Mother's Day is tomorrow and this bowl was for my mother to eat for dinner tonight. We have video evidence of the online order worker trying to threaten us as well. With that aside, we wanted to pay and leave. After leaving we checked the bill, and they ended up charging us for 3 bowls instead of the 2 we ordered. Please check the camera for that too, we walked out with 2 bowls. Ummm whoever diced the veggies for this day, was lazy. The corn salsa has big chucks of pepper that are diced. Then the guac has chunks of onions instead of them being diced. I can tell this is not a situation where one big chunk accidentally got in the mix. Someone was too lazy to diced the pepper and onion and put the chunks in the mix. Also, the guac was not mixed well as in still whole avocado slices in my bowl and its bland . The lettuce was also not fully shredded. This Chipotle is conveniently located at the back of the food court (by Champps) in Menlo Park Mall, but this review is in response to my second and last time visiting this location. Since many of the stores at Menlo are staffed by students on summer break, I should have known better than to hold this place to the same expectations as other, standalone Chipotle locations. Went on a Thursday at 11:30 PM. The beginning of the assembly line (burrito skin and rice) was fine, while the end of the assembly line (from salsa to checkout) descended into a total cluster-f. The last girl to finish my burrito added guacamole even though I asked her not to, and then the cashier rang up the wrong amount for my order (almost double). Why do I have scream to be heard when asked what kind of burrito I ordered three times in a row? There were definitely too many people behind the counter, and not enough communication, despite all the noise. Clearly a lot of newbies on the job. Always crowded, inconsistent, and rushed service. The food is the typical "not bad and not good" label. However, the service here is terrible. I've gone separate times with separate servers and they have always inconsistently short changed me on the chicken. One guy gave me just a tiny scoop and I pointed it out and even the folks standing near me said they gave me way too little. The server said you have to order extra meat to get more. I told him look at the guy over there he's got a pile of meat on his and he didn't order extra meat. The next time I went, once again the server just scraped up what's left in the chicken bin and I told him I want the new batch. Because there's not enough chicken. The problem I noticed consistently is that these guys give women more meat and they are the ones that typically eat less and dumps them out. What a waste!
