Second time (Friday night) they were cleaning up the food line and not taking any new orders 30+ min before posted closing time. Not a bad location at all from the experiences I've had! Mere minutes from Mom's, this is a fairly regular FF spot for the both of us. While it gets busy like most all Chipotles do, it doesn't ever seem to get as packed as others I've been to, including Williamsburg and several in Northern VA. I've only ever gotten take out, but the dining area appears to be kept clean, and there's also some outside tables for warmer months or if you have a furry friend with you. On my last couple of visits, they've given me a larger-than-average portion of rice (that I didn't ask for). No complaints from me! read more

Arrived to place my order and was not greeted in the restaurant. I stood there for 5 minutes while the workers just ignored me after staring me down and it helping me just to tell me that they weren't taking physical orders they just were taking mobile orders. Once I placed my order I had to wait an extra 10 minutes for my food. I asked for a side of sour cream and they all ignored me as if they were to busy to do something that would have taken them 30 seconds to do considering I am a former employee of the company. this location is ran terribly, especially since the employees all have attitude and could care less to help their PAYING customers. This chipotle has to be the worst one i have ever seen, the food quality is scary bad. They tend to give you timed out/expired food if you order it on the app and they get most of your order wrong. Half the time u have to order online but if it says its going to be done after 9 they wont make it even tho on there app, google, and there phone service says 10pm. Chipotle was one of our favorites before we had a little one to feed. Unfortunately, our first family trip failed to deliver the expected high quality. We used the new online ordering system. Our order was 15 minutes late AND incorrect. No lettuce, no salsa on the side, kids tacos instead of kids quesadilla, and no milk. When we returned the taco to have it corrected to the quesadilla, I was told, with attitude, that what I had was the quesadilla, they just didn't melt it because some parents liked it that way. Per the photos online, it sure looked like the kids tacos, NOT the kids quesadilla. Rather than press the issue, I asked her if she could please prepare a 'melted' kids quesadilla. Upon receiving it, it was prepared in such a mess that we couldn't unwrap it and we had to peel away all the little bits and pieces of the foil wrapper. Then I saw another woman come in and say she placed an online order and the pick up time was set for 920, and they told her that they would need to contact corporate for a refund and that they were already closed so they could not help any of us. Ok this is definitely one of those I had one bad experience, so I'm going to give a bad review kind of reviews. I was peeved, because I waited in a long line to order two salads and other dishes, but they didn't have lettuce. Someone had written a hand written sign on a door, but there were two doors! I wouldn't be so upset if I wasn't there with my daughter and parents, my dad is on a special diet and just wanted a chicken salad. I am reluctant to give this chipotle another chance, because they didn't even try to give me any alternatives. We tried to order online tonight and get all the way to check out and it says "no online ordering". So we decide to come out here to order in person since it says on their website they close at 10pm. Even before Covid this location has always either run out of stuff that you know they have for the next day or they just stop making stuff way before they're supposed to close. I have ordered through online pick up or gone in store and time and time again there's always something wrong there. This is the closest location the other one is about 30 to 45 minutes away from me. When I order online Majority the time my stuff is wrong and they don't notify you at all. I've already contacted corporate about this location before. It's honestly extremely disappointing. I understand times are rough with Covid but this was happening before Covid as well. And they're very stingy when you ask for extra meat like I'm paying extra for this stuff. I love Chipotle, however it's never a great experience in Richmond area. If you go to Chipotle in a major city (DC, NYC, etc.), you'll see energetic employees serving generous portions of food to their customers. You'll get a vibe similar to Starbucks or Whole Foods. I don't know what's wrong with Chipotle in RVA, perhaps they're underpaying their employees relative to other places or perhaps they don't have access to the same employee pool. But at the end of the day, it's invariably a mediocre experience similar to visiting Hardee's or KFC. They never put the effort even for filling up the rest of my bowl with lettuce. Still, I go to this one frequently, because mediocre Chipotle is better than no Chipotle or the alternatives around (such as pizza, fried food, and other junk food). But I wish RVA area Chipotle restaurants offered customer service on par with Chipotles in major cities. Edit: Forgot to tell that one time I paid for queso and never got it. This specific location genuinely sucks. Multiple times it closes down early and tells people to call and get a refund, you try to call and the operator says go to the website and hangs up. This place is literal cold mess ingredient followed up with staff that makes your food the way they want to and not the way you order it. My last 3 visits have been comped by a higher up customer service rep, but in all honesty the entire staff needs to be fired. I know that we have all been affected by Covid-19 and other worldly issues that impact availability of products/ingredients etc. However, the level of service at this location is just beyond dismal. My family and I literally have to drive 7 miles away to another location to get food prepared right with a decent level of accuracy because the one that's literally in walking distance of us can't seem to do anything correct. You ask for light beans, they load it down with beans and give your very little meat. Ask for salsa on the side, good luck!
