Terrible customer service experience. My friend and I went into the restaurant at 9:30 and they informed me that dining in was no longer available. Yet, the restaurant is scheduled to be open till 10. I wanted a bowl, and since I couldn't eat in the restaurant the employee essentially gave me no option and told me I'd need a lid, the food gets disgusting when a lid is placed over it, and therefore decided it'd be best if we took our business elsewhere. I come to Chipotle in Parsippany regularly and it's usually a hit or miss with service and the quality of their food. Today the Barbacoa was extremely dry and almost inedible. I mentioned multiple times about how bad it was and nothing was offered to replace or make the situation better. The female manager named Sofia ignored the girl running the register multiple times and then just shrugged her shoulders and again did nothing to help. I paid and ate it because I was hungry but I was very disappointed. They seemed to be too intent on cleaning, way earlier than usual, to make sure that their customer was happy. read more

My kids are big fans of Chipotle restaurants. Being in the middle of NYC we have loads of Chipotle options. However this one out in NJ is their favorite. We stop here on the way to PA. The food here is better and fresher than our experience of the city locations. Second, Chipotle is famous for the size of its burritos...like the size of your face burritos, but here they are just normal Moe's sized burritos...and what they DO put on the burrito is mostly rice-is there some kind of chicken shortage that precludes you from giving me the portion I can get in any OTHER Chipotle??? I have bad allergies, egg and dairy being my major ones, and Chipotle is normally a great safe zone for me where I feel safe eating. The one in my town is great, but this one is filled with teenager attitude. I asked the girl to use a different spoon and the guacamole from the fridge as I normally do since the one on the counter always has cheese. She spun the spoon in the container and said she understands as she goes to grab a huge scoop WITH the cheese in it on my food. I asked her to please get a fresh one because I'm ALLERGIC. Love that this chipotle is close, but worse service I've seen! Portions are also the smallest I have seen and they keep getting smaller every time I am there....which is at least once a week. Walked in one Monday after with my boyfriend and the first "kid" at the counter took my order then attempted to move onto my boyfriends order.....but he did not realize he was not ready. After my boyfriend didn't answer this employees attempt to take an order he proceeded to try to get his attention bu yelling "ummmm hello??" Really chipotle? !?!?! Where do you find your uneducated, rude and unqualified staff? I work in a service-type industry and wouldn't dream of speaking to a customer like this. Have been to this location several times and it's going downhill. The portions are so inconsistent from one trip to the next. I was there today around noon and I was shocked to see the metals serving containers nearly empty. The contents were dry and really unappetizing. The server was polite, but had to scrap her tongs on the bottom of the almost empty serving container. I did ask if the food was fresh and mentioned that I had really wanted to try the brisket they had been advertising, but everything looked old and dried out. Her answer was the chicken was somewhat new. A supervisor walked over and thought she would acknowledge what I was saying and instead asked the server if I had purchased guacamole or queso. She was more concerned about up-selling than selling good product or a customer's concern. 2 bowls cost $18 and was almost all rice. First time at Chipotle for me. They replaced the Moes Southwest Grill that was here, which I enjoyed from time to time. The place is really clean, very nicely laid out. I came in and stood at the register, not realizing I was in the wrong spot. The guys that were working were very nice and let me know where to go to begin ordering. I love tacos, so that's what I ordered. 3 carnitas and 3 barbacoa, all soft tacos. The toppings didn't include cilantro or onion, but did include cheese and lettuce. I opted for some pico de gallo and cheese on the carnitas, and lettuce and cheese on the barbacoa. Also got some guacamole. The guys also included some chips and a few salsas, which was very nice of them. The food was really good, no complaints from myself or my wife. I really liked the salsas (green and red) on the tacos. My only gripe is this place is expensive. $18 for 6 tacos and some guacamole is way, way out of my price comfort zone. It's a shame because I really enjoyed the food, but I can't see myself going here more than once a month, if that. read more

I ordered online and both bowls were supposed to have cheese and sour cream but only one did. They also were both supposed to have extra fajita veggies. Neither did. Called the restaurant and spoke to someone that sounded like he did not care at all, but did allow for me to bring back the food and have it remade, only for them to argue with me upon bringing the food back, and then remaking it incorrectly again. I've tried their steak, chicken, barbacoa, carnitas and sofritas. Lately, they've been even stingier with their portions of meat and guac than they've usually been. Today I bit into something hard. I took it out and it looked like a possible bone fragment. I'm hoping it's from the chicken. We came there for lunch on a Sunday afternoon as my husband had two for one burrito coupon. There were people inside but not too crowded and there was no line. The place appears pretty clean. We got 2 burritos, the portions were huge! I couldn't finish it. The food was what you would expect from a fast chain restaurant. The last two times the orders have been wrong. Today, we ordered and my coworkers food was completely wrong, there was one thing right in the bowl which i get it.. it happens because mistakes are made and that's okay.. she just wanted to call to see what could be done so she could enjoy what she ordered. WHAT GOT TO ME was after she asked whoever for the manager, i took over because she had to go back to work, and i sat there for 5 mins listening to them dial numbers, pick up and put the phone back on hold and then HANGUP. That is the WORST "management" i could have ever experienced when it came to a phone call. You shouldn't have a manager title if you can't even pick up the phone correctly and speak about issues at hand. I use to be fan of theirs until I saw the way they were handling food. A lot of food safety issues cross contamination. I will never eat there again after I saw a guy tie his dirty lace and pick something up from the floor. He then helped a customer make a burrito without changing gloves. HOW GROSS. Place is hit or miss. Do not place orders online. Most of the time there is something wrong with the order or when you arrive to pick it up they haven't started making it yet. Ordered a burrito bowl with various toppings. Asked for lettuce and did not select cheese. When I opened my bowl there was cheese on top and no lettuce. Tried to eat it but with all the wet ingredients and no lettuce to balance them out it was not enjoyable. My order listed on the receipt in the bag clearly showed I selected lettuce and did not select any cheese. So frustrating since I ordered online and did not find this out until after I returned home. I know the restaurant can get pretty busy but this is not rocket science. Everything is clearly printed on the order so these type of mistakes should not happen. And to top it off when I arrived at the restaurant to pickup my order 15 minutes after I ordered it there was 1 customer ordering and 1 table sitting down so I don't think it was that busy in the 15 minutes since I placed my order. This has happened before. I guess from now on if I want Chipotle I'll have to order at the restaurant so I can perform quality control during the process. read more
