When I say this place is incredible, I absolutely mean it. The atmosphere is akin to paradise, the food is priced well and delicious, and the General manager, Watts, was the coolest man I've met. What a great experience! I had the guacamole with chips, fish tacos and plaintains. The chips looked homemade and were great, guacamole was awesome. Tacos were so good and plaintains were fabulous! Food taste great but is way over priced for being a self service atmosphere. The fish tacos were about the size of a small cell phone and almost as thin. The drinks are full of ice and very little alcohol. You order food and drink at counter they give you a number and then you wait for food to be delivered. If I am paying $19.99 for 2 small tacos and fries, then I expect for the restaurant to be a full service and not self service. The "servers" were eager to remove any plates/cups but not to ask if we wanted any more drinks- oh yeah self serve. I over heard an employee complaining about the lack of tips. Well that should be expected if I have to do half your job. read more

I got the Baja mahi mahi fried fish tacos. By far the worst tacos I've ever had. For 16.99, the fish was a joke, how could you refry just a delicate fish and make it so chewy at the same time. Probably a good place to grab drinks after work, not a place to grab quick bite/lunch. read more

I'm so very sad to post this because this has been a favorite of mine since they opened. However today the food and service were unacceptable. The guacamole we have always enjoyed came looking very old and served with burnt tortilla chips and no plantain chips as usual. When I asked about the plantain chips I was told that they had to be ordered separately. Really? Never have before in the last 10+ months. Also the table around the corner from me had chips and plantains and much fresher looking guacamole. The always delicious snapper tacos (18.99) were dried and seemed to be old and reheated. I stumbled upon this place while walking around downtown Alpharetta and it was an absolutely FANTASTIC experience overall. The food was delicious- try the Mahi Mahi and the Agave Sriracha sauce! The staff was immediately welcoming and clearly enjoyed giving recommendations and making sure each customer had a great time. The beach atmosphere was spot-on, even on a rainy December day. I was super excited to try this place, as the location reminds me of restaurants at Krog St and Ponce City Market in Atlanta, but here, the food does not compare at all as it is just not good. We had the Baja tacos (fish & shrimp) and the chicken sandwich. The food was so bland. The quinoa had no taste. It all just tasted like minimal effort. The drinks (John Daly & Island Lemonade) were mediocre as well. I like having a decent amount of alcohol in my drink, but it still should taste good. These were too strong and did not taste good. For the price, the value is just poor. I have no reason to come back. Please do better as the location is great. read more

Absolutely loved this new place in Alpharetta. The place is casual and laid back. The outdoor patio with games and grassy area for kids or dogs to play is very nice, they also have heaters. The atmosphere is awesome, but the best part was the food. I had the fresh grilled grouper sandwich, yes it is a bit pricey at $19.99 but totally worth it. The fish is flaky, fresh, and just delicious, it comes with a yummy alioli sauce and arugula...outstanding combination! You can get a side dish, I had the fries with their chipotle sauce, but also tried the sweet fried plantains and the salad with a honey tarragon dressing which were excellent. My son had the shrimp tacos and the dish was very flavorful too, the corn tortilla was tasty and the sauce was really good. One of the owners stoped by our table to greet us and we talked about how the restaurant idea was crafted based on Chiringuitos in Spain....love the idea! If you are looking for a casual but beautiful restaurant with fresh fish daily and delicious sandwiches or salads, this is your place! This is my new favorite spot in Alpharetta! read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality of the food. The place is open, warm, and inviting ... and we finally tried it when Butcher and Brew has a wait. Wish we would have tried it before! Not going to save a lot of money vs some sit down places, but you will enjoy the flavors and ambiance more I think. Was skeptical of the cocktails but they were on point too. We had kids tenders, which seemed hand battered, fish tacos, and chicken bowls. Chipotle Crema is amazeballs. We will definitely be back. And honestly my favorite part was meeting Watts (?), who I believe was the General Manager and the most friendly, hard working, positive guy I have met in quite a while. The industry seems to be full of people mailing it in sometimes, and he made us feel welcome, well informed of the menu, and well cared for. Nice work and while kind of expensive for fast casual, I enjoyed our family night out and will come here more often in the future vs. our usual full serve restaurants in the area. read more

my chicken taco tasted like the chicken had gone bad, the fish sandwich was SO fishy it did not taste right and my drink was awful!

We tried Chiringa on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30pm. Location is great and the restaurant is open and airy and lots of people coming in and out getting drinks and going out to hang on the green space. You walk up and order at the counter and they bring the food to your table when ready. My husband and I stood in the line for about 15-20 minutes and there were only 3 people ahead of us. The person who was taking the order was also making the drinks which was why the line was taking forever. We ordered shrimp tacos and a fish sandwich and a couple drinks. Frosé was bland and not quite sweet enough. Margarita was pretty good. IT TOOK OVER AN HOUR FOR OUR FOOD TO COME OUT. How it takes and hour to make grilled shrimp tacos and a grilled fish sandwich I don't know. Can't imagine on a busy Friday or Saturday night how long it would take. The food was good - nothing out of this world but better than average. I hope this place is able to get it together with wait times because it is a fun atmosphere in a great location. read more

Stated with drinks which were weak but ok. The food is overpriced and not prepared very well. Kids Burger was burnt and two shrimp tacos for $17. Regular burger was not great. We were served the bottom of the fries with all small pieces. It's really about the experience/value and it doesn't add up here. Service was good. This place is sooo good! My family and I stopped here today for lunch and we are very impressed. I got the cheese burger medium and it so tender. It is a blend of angus beef, short rib and brisket. The awesome sauce with the arugula was a nice touch and the burger tasted so fresh! My wife got the Baja Tacos and my mother in law got the beach house salad with blackened shrimp. They were gracious enough to let me sample. It was delicious as well! The interior is very open, clean and comfortable. You can't go wrong grabbing a bite here! read more

Great concept in theory, missed the mark in reality. Fish tacos pretty bland and on the small side. Adult burgers overcooked. kid burger was a slider. French Fries were good. Sold a 16 oz beer that was only 12 oz. Cost vs. value is terrible. Family of 5 with one kid meal, no soft drinks, two beers cost over $80 with tip. The guys behind the bar were great. The fresh red snapper sandwich was fantastic! I normally don't eat seafood unless I'm on the coast, but I almost forgot I wasn't at the beach. I look forward to trying the black grouper. Guacamole wasn't playing around either. My husband said his cheeseburger was tasty and the kids had hotdogs which were grilled and they ate all of it. The kids even chose hummus and pita instead of fries as their side! I was driving so didn't get a chance to try a drink, but the menu looked very good and others seemed to be enjoying- we'll be back for that and catch a DAWG game! Went this past weekend for the music festival in Alpharetta and ran into Chiringa - it was their opening weekend! I was really impressed with the food and the service. My faves on the menu were the guacamole and the shrimp tacos. My friend liked the burger - especially with their "awesome sauce" (kinda like a thousand island dressing). They had a gluten free option on the kids menu - and my other friend ordered that and enjoyed it. I am told they will have more gluten free options moving forward. Space was fresh and they had large TV's for watching sports. Annnnnd I'm told they are going to have this special Kalimotxo drink on there too! I will be back - especially with my kids, as there is a splash park right outside and you can order cocktails/drinks from their walk-up window. Yesssss :) read more

Also I wrote a review not too long ago but in case there is anyone out there who has a lot of dietary restrictions, like myself, I have had no issues here and honestly that is rare for me. The food is clean and, for my stomach and future pain, worth the price. To be fair based on restaurants around the prices are equal. Technically I should not eat veggies but when I get the Chop chop bowl (without onions) I have minor to no issues which is awesome for me and my family because eating out has become more of a chore and burden rather than fun and a time to get out. It also helps that we get to bring our dogs to eat outside, which they graciously give a water bowl too. So for me to avoid a night in writhing pain is great! Their sauces agree as well and I can never have sauces. The mustard curry has the most amazing favoring with none of the spiciness. I can never have spices so to find something that tastes so amazing, jam packed with flavor, and agrees with me is a hard find. I would be really disappointed if they were to start charging for them because having this bowl is a treat for me and with extra rice 2.99 I can't imagine what the sauces would be. My only 'complaint', aside from the plea to not charge for sauces, would be for them to start adding recycling. They are a beach vibe clean type restaurant where you typically think hippie vibe and green thumb. They don't have any and I think that would really help with their plastic cups. read more

Had dinner at Chiringa with my family recently. We live walking distance to downtown Alpharetta and frequent the restaurants. We like their fried chicken sandwich. My daughter ordered fish Tacos before we noticed the price. Ended up being the most expensive fish tacos I have ever purchased @ $20 for 2 small (and super spicy) tacos. We were told it was because of the "fresh" grouper they imported (our tacos actually had a little fish - and a lot of "filler" in them). Being an old Florida boy, I can say first-hand that this is quite pricy for what is being billed as "beach" food. This place needs to stick with plates $12 and under. Ironically, their "appetizers" were $10 and up. There are better options (like a restaurant "close by" that sells 3 great fish tacos and a side for $12) - and complementary fresh salsa and tortillas. So if you choose to dine here look at the menu first. I'd recommend you stick with the chicken sandwich and avoid sticker shock! read more

So good we came twice in one day! My sister, my boyfriend and I all came in for lunch for the first time and had a great time. Not only is the food delicious, you feel like your transported to a sunny spot by the beach. Andy and Watts are extremely friendly and genuinely cared about our experience. Continuously checked on us for refills, how are food was and if we need anything. As someone who doesn't eat much seafood, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the variety on the menu had something for everyone. For lunch I had the cheeseburger which was delicious and perfectly cooked, came with plenty of toppings and their special "awesome sauce". We brought our parents back for dinner that same night and had a great time. We all got something different and tried each other's food. The atmosphere alone will bring me back and the food left me completely satisfied. I highly recommended checking out this spot if you, too, are tired of the boring BBQ and "new-American" restaurants in the area that repeat the same script. I had no idea this place was in downtown Alpharetta! The location was great and it sits right on the lawn with outdoor seating too! It was so easy to get to with lots of parking in the downtown square. I highly recommend the bowls! Their guacamole is incredible and served fresh and the blacked chicken has a slight kick to it, but it paired so well with the curry mustard sauce. They have a large selection of drinks and beverages, but their lemonade is incredible. The atmosphere is bright and fun and that's what has me coming back (and of course the food!) The employees are friendly and very attentive. A perfect spot for the family to enjoy lunch, get the friends together, or even come in and order some delicious salt and pepper chips with a side of pico to get some work done on the computer. They also work with influencers so I highly recommend giving them a shout out on social media and make sure to tell your friends and family about them! 6/5 stars if I could give it! read more
