I usually love this place but I was very disappointed with our recent take out order. I placed our order online and we went to pick it up and it was not ready even though the time we entered was when we arrived. I was told the time online was the time they would start preparing the food. I had never heard of this from any restaurant. Our email confirmation gives the date and time. I have no idea what the employee was talking about but she was definitely wrong. When we returned about 20 minutes later there was no one to give me the order. It was sitting on a nearby counter. It's sad to see a friend lose everything when they put everything into what they do when they worked here .. They lost a lot due to no hours after being told they would have hours during slow season now they are left stranded with nothing and losing everything why the owners still make good money . But to watch your employees struggle and then just sit back like it's nothing shame on you .. Very good! I ordered their standard cheeseburger and must say-- one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. The other two people with me ordered the Grayton Beach Bowl. Party of 8 went tonight for dinner. Started out with nice table outside but went downhill. All prices blacked out on menu (odd), but, when we got bill, we found out that a dish of three tacos was about $23 as was fish sandwich and the bowl we ordered. Would say it was overpriced for what it was. Unfortunately 5 meals came out at one time but then it was 20 minutes before the next three came. Not ideal. Waitress barely checked on us. We came for dinner in their gulf view second floor. Our waiter Fletcher was excellent as were the fish or the day tacos. We had a beer on tap as well as cocktail. Well my second night in the area and the girls choose Chiringo. The table had a round of drinks and guacamole appetizer. Overall, very good. Chips were fresh. I had the grouper basket. I'm not super critical of beach restaurants, but I can safely say that this place needs serious work on just about every key area of the Restaurant business except LOCATION. Accidentally was delivered a margarita... which I decided to keep, just because I thought it was some sort of karmic thing, where the universe was saying... "Dude you need a 'RITA"... bad decision... even though it was removed from the bill, it was undrinkable, and gave a bad name to the spectacular drink. The food was WAY sub-par. We asked what was the best thing to order for lunch. We were recommended the Fresh Fish Sandwich and Fish Tacos... so we got one of each. The sandwich was fried, and the fry was super oily, almost wet, and the fish was far from fresh. You know all that brown mushy meat that surrounds some fish cuts? This was full of it, and just wasn't good. The fish tacos were worse. Stale tortillas, which I seriously didn't know if it was trying to be a soft or hard taco... and I would say it was neither... just stale. To make it worse, I had a piece of plastic in my food, which I removed. And didn't touch the rest of the plate. I wasn't asked anything about it, and just left the plastic bit laying on the table. I didn't want to ask for anything else to be removed, I just wanted to pay for my over priced meals and get on the beach. Definitely avoid this place.... we even got a popsicle on the way out... it was $6.41 and was a watermelon mint popsicle. It was a combination of frozen solid, like... "crack your tooth ice", mixed with soft areas of chopped up frozen watermelon. It was super hard to eat and the flavor wasn't that great. And by far the most expensive popsicle on the planet. Bottled beer would be what I would get from here.... oh but wait... they don't sell bottled beer... i'd venture to say their beer taps haven't been cleaned in years, but can't vouch for that as I learned long ago not to drink beer on tap. So. In short, don't let the pirate outside woo your kids into walking in. There is not one good thing about this place, except for maybe the fact that they will let you in if you are super sandy. Presidents Day weekend brought us to 30A country and some long missed beach time. My sister-in-law picked Chiringo for a Saturday night dinner with a group of eight. Chiringo Yelped well in reviews and lived up to our expectations. This is a popular place. Parking can be a challenge. It has a small outside area where you can enjoy an adult beverage and play corn hole waiting for a table. We sat upstairs where garage-style doors open up the walls allowing a gentle breeze to pass through. Three television screens on the interior wall provided sports programs including the Winter Olympics. We ordered some fried oyster appetizers which were tender and had some flash fried spinach with each one. They disappeared quickly. Desiring more of them, I ordered a fried oyster basket for my dinner. It came with about a dozen delicious oysters, some fries and a side dish of mac and cheese. All were cooked perfectly and were tasted fantastic. I washed them down with an ice-cold 30-A beer and was a very happy camper. Others at our table had regular burgers which they said were very good. I say "regular" burger because they have a "Cat 5" (hurricane lingo) burger that is humongous and is loaded with hot peppers. Next time I'll try it. So why not 5 stars? The service was rather slow and that's allowing for it not being too busy upstairs. We had to repeatedly ask for water refills and the wait time for food arrival seemed excessively long. Fresh smoothies made at the separate counter in the nook, past the restrooms. I saw our smoothie-rista toss generous portions of fresh berries with almond milk to make our triple berry smoothies - $7.98. Our group also tried the various versions of their protein grain bowls, choose your protein, Spanish-style served atop fluffy rice or quinoa (+$1.50). The menu is appealing because everything is packed with nutrition, yet also keep you feeling light so you can go back to the beach and hit those waves. The three guys that started this business all hail from Atlanta. One of the partners and his lovely wife adopted 2 shelter dogs from the area and to this day are super advocates of all strays and homeless dogs and cats. On the last day we stayed in Grayton, they hosted the Walton County Animal Shelter Adoption Event. They had as many as 9 (all adoptable!) dogs and 2 kittens hang out in their outdoor patio area for the day, offering discounted food specials with the proceeds going to the animal shelter. They also have beanbags in the astroturf area where you can lounge with your friends. They have a slushy concoction called the Billy Ocean. It's delicious, smooth, full-bodied booze in a solo cup. If you are looking for a local's place with good food, great drinks and great service, you found it! We ate dinner mid-week upstairs and were able to enjoy the open-air dining. My Cuban was fantastic! After dinner we made our way downstairs to the bar for some more drinks and realized it became the neighborhood bar. Two nights later we tried Red Bar across the street but after sitting at the bar for 15 minutes without being acknowledged, we decided to head back to Chiringo. We decided on Chiringos from the great reviews we read on Yelp. While waiting for our table, we drooled over the incredibly tasty photos we found. There wasn't a huge selection of food choices but everything sounded delicious. I enjoyed a cocktail and sat on the nice outdoor patio. We sampled the crab avocado toast. There wasn't much avocado spread rather more salsa with a teaspoon of shredded crab on top. When seated I also tried the blueberry lemon kimbucha. It was really good! We ended up ordering 2. For the main dish I ordered the grouper sandwich. It was served on a toasted bun with a side of French fries. The fish was flaky and delicious. The portion was just perfect. Others ordered salad, shrimp and po'boy sandwich. There was nothing but happy bellies at our table. We finished off the mean with an cookie ice cream sandwich. That was the only part of the meal that was a little disappointing. The cookie was frozen and the ice cream was just ok. They were very small and looked like something you could buy at the grocery store. The service was great. Everyone there was super nice and the good overall was delicious. Me and my party went to this establishment because it is advertised as Spanish Food. We were very disappointed when we were greeted with our menu and discovered that it was your basic Sports bar food (burgers, wings, chicken fingers, ext.) However they do have tacos, so naturally that is what I ordered. This taco was the most poorly crafted taco I have seen in my day. It was a shell, have a piece of grilled chicken and shredded kraft cheddar cheese. It looked like a taco that a 3rd grader would make. Very sad to see the once beautiful Grayton beach be infested with these type of Tourist Traps. If you want a good taco or burrito I'd suggest the Taco Bar in Seaside. read more

We ordered 3 burgers, a shrimp sandwich, a fried chicken sandwich, 2 Mac and cheese, 2 fries and an order of fried plantains. Everything was excellent! Do not miss out on the fries, they were fantastic. I just had a burger at Jeff Ruby's and this burger was so much better! The food here was well-prepared and tasted very fresh (I had the fish bowl and my husband had a grouper sandwich). There is outdoor dining on the patio and tables are spaced apart. However, the restaurant could and should have better covid-19 prevention practices amongst its serving staff. During our dinner, I only saw one staff member wearing a mask properly. Most staff inside the restaurant were wearing masks on their chin and not covering their nose and mouth. Proper mask wearing is essential to mitigating spread of the virus.
