Good food! Poor, deceitful practice of gratuity. For parties of six or more, a gratuity will automatically be put on your check and charged if using your credit card. I asked for a separate check specifically to the young server named Alexis, but was given a check with a gratuity added and charged to my credit card. She explained it happened because she split the item from the check of the party of six, even after I specifically asked for a separate check. Only after I complained did she completely void the charge and issue me a new check. A law was passed over six years ago that prohibits restaurants to force a gratuity on any parties regardless of size, but is impossible to enforce so restaurants without merit often do this. I get it, so many people will not tip. But, that's the cons of this business. It's a service industry. I got the Red Dragon roll. Was not as spicy as I would have liked. BEWARE Unethical business. Check your bill!!! Based on reviews stopped here for lunch. We wanted to go to the Naked Fish which had been really outstanding but they didn't open until later. We get here and they are advertising 20% off in a large banner in front of the restaurant. So we try the place. The Food: it was okay. We ordered a salad, 3 different rolls and a sashimi plate. Not an outstanding sushi place, but not gross either. We were greeted in a friendly manner. The California roll barely had avocado, and none of the thinly sliced vegetables I am used to seeing and no masago. The seaweed salad was good with a bit of a split identity between seaweed salad and side salad with dressing on the outside circle. The bill comes and 20% is not deducted. My husband mentions this to the waitress/hostess/owner. They claim iced tea was excluded. He points to their sign but they still overcharge. They claimed the crab INSIDE the roll was an appetizer so it was excluded. The picture is included so you can see what was advertised. Total bait and switch. Well this was the first sushi place we tried in A-Town. Sushi had good flavor... the rolls? They were falling apart... so presentation wasn't the best. We got traditional items because we weren't wanting anything exotic for the night. I hate writing negative reviews but this one I could not help. Not sure if they were running out of food or the food was old due to the coronavirus going on but if that's the case then you need to just close your restaurant. This was probably the worst sushi and chicken teriyaki bowl we have ever had. We normally go to a different sushi place in town but elected to try this place new being the fact that it had good reviews and was closer to our home. This was a mistake. Called in order to go by the time I got home and opened up one of my roles was incorrect. Fish seemed old and the avocado was browning. The roll I ordered was the albacore supreme roll. Apparently I got some sort of albacore roll with spicy tuna and jalapeños in it. I tried getting it down even though I'm not a big fan of jalapeños in my roll. I could only get halfway through before it's not worth eating just because of the cost. Will not be going back. read more

Prices definitely higher ($23 for the house roll).. was expecting high quality seafood, only to find oddly unnatural colored very dark purple/red tuna paste on the spicy tuna. Ditch that please. Staff also wasn't familiar with some common types of sushi. Place was empty as always. Food wasn't awful, service was acceptable. I'd give 3.5 if I could, but it didn't earn a 4 in my book. The rolls are always formed and tight, seafood is incredibly fresh, yakisoba is al dente, always large portions of nigiri and free edemame as you sit. I will say the service is their best quality. The waitresses are attentive and seem to be intuitive to any needs and greet you with a smile. There are many items I've tried on the menu but the mackerel nigiri is my absolute fav.
