This was my first and likely last time ordering here. I ordered online and did an in-store pickup, took the food home to discover both items were wrong. I ordered a kids hamburger meal with NO cheese. It had cheese. I ordered a Cobb salad with NO bacon. It had bacon. It looked like the salad was pre-made, and they just scooped out the bacon, leaving some behind. Cucumbers were soggy/flimsy too. I called and spoke with a lady from the "processing center". She couldn't refund me immediately, and directed me to fill out an online form. I asked to go back and get the correct order. She couldn't get ahold of the store, so if I were to go back for the correctly made items, I'd have to wait while they prepare the order. Mind you, there were 2 people inside the store, maybe 2 cars in drive-thru, and just 1 order in the pickup kiosk. How can people get it so wrong? read more

Food tastes good. Burgers have gotten smaller and more expensive. Just ordered a bbq bacon burger and got a tiny wad of bacon in the middle of the sandwich. The drive-thru seems to take longer to fill orders than sit-down, but that may be because we all want drive thru's to be super fast. Answering the call. I'm glad I gave the Habit another shot. I've gone 3 times now and each time it's great. The fries are fully cooked and golden brown. The food hot and delicious. Sitting in the restaurant for those 3 times, has made me want to sit in it every time I go. Self service soda machine a huge plus. Condiments, utensils, peppers, etc out for you to easily grab. Modern restaurant with plenty of seating. I honestly would've given a 5/5, but the chicken size still needs a little work. read more

I'm not sure what score I should give. We order the same sandwiches every time we go. Every time we go they make his order correctly and mess up on mine. Every time. I emailed their corporate and was given 4 coupons. So this time we ordered meals, which include fries/ drink. I didn't see the fine print that a burger meal is $13. The price for the chicken sandwich meal is not posted and is over $15. WITH THE COUPONS our order was going to over $30! I cancelled my meal, stuck with the sandwich. We used the coupons. The bill wad $27. They made his burger perfectly and messed up the chicken sandwich. I reported this to corporate, thanked them for the coupons, but we're through. They sent 4 more coupons. I did an online order this evening, Wednesday, April 22. I wanted to be able to pick this up quickly so I ordered ahead because I have kids in the car. I wanted to be able to go through the drive-through and pick up my order like a lot of fast food, restaurants and Starbucks allow you to drive through the drive-through to pick up your mobile order. I had to wait behind a car. I was waiting for their food that they had just ordered after I was told that I cannot pick up my food through the drive-through. I had two small kids in the car. I wanted to avoid having to get them out of their car seats and go into the restaurant so all of this defeated the purpose as I had to wait for somebody else's meal to be cooked while mine sat inside. Tell me why the girl working tonight could not simply pick up the bag and hand me my food through the drive-through window? She told me that they could not do that. I specified on my order what type of soda I wanted so leaving the empty cup there for me to have to fill it myself was also annoying. This policy should be changed because that's absolutely ridiculous and I would hope that a manager would see that is very frustrating. read more

Man, this place has been packed. People get REALLY hyped up for new restaurants in Atascadero, and while the prospect of yet another burger joint isn't exactly blowing my skirt up, I have to admit that I have been curious about trying this chain. The first time I tried, the drive through line was way out onto El Camino, so, uhhhh... pass. Second time was the charm, though! At 11:50 AM, the lunch rush had not yet struck, although it quickly lined up behind me in the drive through. One thing to know is that despite friendly and efficient staff, this drive through can take some time. With 6-7 cars ahead of me, it took me 15-20 minutes to get through. That could be them still figuring out their flow (being so new), or maybe I had the misfortune of being behind a huge order. In any case, come patient or just order online ahead of time & just run inside. The latter option would be fastest. On to the food: for $13, I had the ahi sandwich as a combo with fries and a drink. Altogether, this was pretty good and was way too much for me to eat alone. The "side" of fries is so oversized that I could easily have shared it with someone. The ahi sandwich might have benefitted from some sturdier slaw rather than shredded lettuce to hold up against the teriyaki sauce, but I liked the flavors. And it's a relatively healthy option (or at least fairly low cal without the fries), so I am going to call it a win. The fries, now that we've moved beyond how many of them there were (not complaining), were decent-- thick cut is not usually my jam, but the salt ratio was right on. Overall, not the fastest, but it's cheap and the food was not bad. Super nice staff. I'll probably be back as they continue to find their flow & improve. read more

So... first impressions: The place is definitely popping, the restaurant was packed. So was the parking lot, which made for a long, long line of cars, stretching out onto El Camino, waiting to enter the lot and park, or get to the drive-thru, and drivers already in the lot having difficulty getting out. Given The Habit is an already well-established, popular restaurant, it's bewildering that they didn't opt for a larger location with better ingress/egress, parking, etc., to accommodate the crowds. Interior dining room is rather small, with maybe a dozen or so tables, and because the place was noisy and packed, the space to queue just felt aimless, cramped and claustrophobic. It took a while to get up to the register to place our order, but having done so, we quickly made our escape to the outside seating area. Understandably, a number of other patrons breathed a sigh of relief once they exited the restaurant, too. The courtesy of some sort of shade (which they currently do not have) for the patrons dining outside would have been a welcome relief from the blazing sun. Wait time for our buzzer to go off was exceptionally quick, so we set about to eating our meals. The Santa Barbara Cobb Salad was okay; the Teriyaki Char Burger good, not great; and the fries were good. The service and pricing were excellent. Overall, a good place for teens, families and anyone else, but if you weren't prepared for the hassle of the ingress/egress, drive-thru and parking issues, as well as the (currently) unimpressive food, you may be pretty disappointed. However, this location opened only a few days ago, so hopefully they just need a couple more weeks to improve the quality of their fare, and for the crowds to die down a bit so that their patrons' dining experience will be more positive and pleasant. read more

I had a really good experience here! My boyfriend and I just left the gym and wanted to share a double char burger. We got one with everything and asked to get it cut in half. It was so tasty and seasoned very well! Love that charbroiled taste. The wait wasn't too bad for dining in; we dined in because the drive thru was a little long (about 6/7 cars). We came Saturday at 1230 lunch. Probably waited for less than 10 mins. I forgot how good the Habit was, I attended CSUF and there was a Habit across the way, and it was just as I had remembered compared to this location. Will definitely be returning since it's on the way near the gym. It's a little more expensive than innout but it's definitely worth it. So good. Stopped in today for some take out. Love the drive thru!! of course the line was crazy long, but thats expected. Ordered the Santa Barbara Char, green beans combo and a number 11, Golden Chicken Sandwich combo. We got to the window and asked about the fries on the second combo. The cashier was very confused. Someone helped her and they fixed the missing fries. Not a huge deal considering they just opened. Upon arriving home, I noticed that for $3.15/ the green beans were not worth it. All of the other restaurants in the chain give you ample beans. This was barely a handful. I loved my Santa Barbara Char burger though. The mr was unimpressed with the size of the golden chicken in his sandwich. The picture showed a much more robust serving of chicken. This was your standard deep fried chicken patty. He said it was a little dry. The sauce did have some heat and he liked that. He also enjoyed his fries. We would both like to say that we like the straw treatment in the sodas. On the whole, the staff were nice and the food was ok. We understand the learning curve and will continue to re evaluate the service and food as they grow into their own. read more

Good food but very slow. Been in drive-through for 20+ minutes, still in it, on a Saturday night. Update: total time in drive-thru was 30+ mins. Car behind me was seemingly frustrated as well, didn't order, just drove out behind me. Buns were hard/stale, my teriyaki chicken sandwich was missing pineapple after I asked for it after order read-back. Chocolate malt had no malt but mocha instead (yuck!). I hate to give a bad review to a local business, which had pretty decent quality and service pre-Covid. read more

For a chain restaurant, they really do make the burgers from scratch. It is always worth the wait and there isn't anything on the menu that isn't really flavorful. Great food but... Every time I go there they take forever to make the food. I also have had missing items a lot of the time I go there. For example, I waited 20 mins in line for a salad and they gave me just lettuce and chicken without any dressing. I tried contacting them by phone but they're phone number isn't a direct number. It's frustrating when you pay 10 bucks for a salad and get lettuce and chicken. I could have gone to Von's and made a better salad if I wanted chicken and lettuce!
