Came here for lunch on a Saturday about 15 mins after they opened for lunch. The bar was full but there were tables available right away. Ordered 2 sushi rolls and some salmon nigiri. They offer different dipping sauces for $1. Got the ponzu. Beverages for now consist of soda, teas and water. (They are still in the process to be able to serve beer and wine). Got iced green tea which was light and refreshing. Service was very friendly and FAST! They do not mess around here, I swear we were in and out in 30 mins. Great lunch spot :)

Fast and welcoming service. Smaller sushi menu, but tempura udon was good! Miso soup was delicious. Good spot!

This place is ok. I saw the mixed reviews and gave it a shot…read more The service was great. Very attentive. Nicely decorated, small shop. The prices... are very expensive. Probably one of the most expensive sushi places I've been to. $14 for a Cali hand roll. It was large and the rice had an odd sweet flavor to it? Wasn't a fan. I got the tonkatsu ramen. Only meat, onion, and added tofu. It said it would come with slices but it came with chunks of pork that was boiled.. I wanted the slices. The ramen itself was alright. The gyoza/potstickers were good. Probably my favorite. $9 side of kimchi... it was pretty good. Sadly I don't think I'll be back with these prices.

However, we were told that egg wasn't available at the moment and so we weren't able to taste that and saved an extra $2.50 off our bill (expensive for just one egg). We were told that since they just opened, the food would take longer than expected (roughly around 15-20 minutes). However, to our surprise it came in 10 minutes! Now for the food review, it was okay. The ramen was bland and not spicy at all. I had let the server know that it wasn't spicy as was promised and expected and if we could have some spice to add onto it. He came back with a little side of just chili oil, this was a regretful addition because we later found out that it's an additional $1.50 for such a small amount of chili oil, ridiculous. I don't think I'll be returning due to surge in additional prices that we were not aware of and the fact that the food wasn't good.

I really do appreciate everything he did and if I came back for only one reason, it'd be because of Lucas' exceptional service. The food was also very good. The fresh wasabi given to us by Lucas was exceptional and it elevated the meal to new heights. The Halibut Tempura was a table favorite and it's something I'm looking forward to getting again. Overall, it was a very nice evening filled with great food and amazing service. Thank you to Lucas and the rest of the wonderful staff! :)

It was plenty of food and we think it could feed three people easily (or take home leftovers). The mixed tempura was surprisingly good, but we didn't care for the seaweed or house salad. The rolls are always good and we really enjoyed trying most things at once. It's a fun way to try Kanpai! You don't need a reservation in a pair, but consider one if you're a bigger group. Otherwise, you're sat and served quickly. 3.8/5

The lunch menu comes with miso soup and two sides. Goshi is an absolute gem for anyone looking for good quality fish and dedication to preserving and translating Japanese flavors to the California coast. From the moment we walked in, the service was prompt and professional. The lunch specials seemed like the way to go. We got to try a few different rolls; although none blew my mind, each one was solid. The udon broth was a bit dark and salty, but the umami flavors were rich and complex. The shrimp tempura was well-fried and lightly battered. Honestly, the standouts were the miso soup and the yuzu sorbet mochi (perfect refreshing way to end off a meal). Price-wise, I might be spoiled coming from Vancouver, but I thought the dishes were all a bit pricy. However I do think the quality of the fish was quite high, so it didn't feel like the most ridiculous ask. I'd definitely stop by again when passing through the area!

The overall vibe felt like the employees didn't want to be there. Service was extremely slow, and it seemed like they were short-staffed. At one point I went inside for a soda refill and saw one of the employees with her purse out counting cash tips. A few minutes later she was serving food, which wasn't something I expected to see. Our food came out in 15-minute intervals instead of all together, so some of us were finished eating before others even received their meals. We also got drink refills with no ice, which was just another odd detail. To top it off, everyone in our group developed diarrhea just a few hours after eating there. I can't say for certain what caused it, but it was enough that none of us will be returning. Very disappointing experience overall.
