After a brief hiatus from doing my personal charity work, I've decided to start giving back to my community. MY NEW HOME! I've donated my blood/platelets for many years with a reputable organization. With me moving to Orange County, I've decided to give to another organization more specifically to children. Although, I will never know who receives my donation, I can narrow it down to a specific demographic: CHILDREN. Let's donate a piece of myself to Children's Hospital of Orange County - Blood and Donor Services. **PLEASE NOTE: Donor Services is not in the same building as CHOC Hospital** Located on the southeast corner of Main and W La Veta, you will find Blood and Donor Services at the Children's Hospital of Orange County - Commerce Tower. Parking is outside next to the building. Do not park at any of the garages. I made a mistake and paid $6 by parking at the St. Joseph's Hospital Associate Parking. You can get free parking when you get your ticket validated at the CHOC - Blood and Donor Services Offices. When you walk in, look for Suite 185. Before coming in, please call their office as they highly recommend setting up an appointment. You can call them at 714-509-8339 or email at donatebloodforkids@choc.... . Their hours are limited to the weekdays. Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:30pm. Hopefully, if more people read this review and donate, CHOC can extend hours and days into the weekends. I hope so because donation is more than just a Monday through Friday deal. Its an every deal. I spoke with Gloria who was able to accommodate same day appointments for me. I walked in and was greeted by Colleen. She told me that my nurse was out for a little break and I decided to use the restroom down the hall. Before you donate, make sure you had a well balanced meal and drank a lot of fluids before you donate. Strength is one key for a successful donation. I came back and was greeted by Juanita. Since this was my first time here, I had to fill out a new donor form. After filling out, Juanita did my vitals and hemoglobin test. Once you have completed the vitals, you will answer a questionnaire on the computer regarding yourself. Once you have completed, onwards to "THE CHAIR". Both whole blood and platelet donations take place in here. Sit back, relax, and let Juanita or the staff take care of you.The process will take about 10-15 minutes depending on fast blood comes out. As for the platelet donation, from experience, it can take about 1.5-2 hours depending on the machine. There are TVs in the room while you wait and I believe you can watch DVDs as well. At the end, you'll get your free treats and drink on your way out. In this case, I got Peanut Butter Cookies with Cranberry Juice. It is always a delicious treat and very rewarding. Both your body, spirit and, more importantly, the KIDS! For once or multiple times, donate to Children's Hospital of Orange County. Trust me, those kids will love you for being part of their lives. While everything was amazing I do want to add that with some much information is such a small amount of time it was hard to comprehend a lot of it. but overall this was an amazing lecture that thought me alot about new and incoming innovations in the medical field and makes me curious what the future of medican will look like in the upcoming years.

It was a busy Friday night, yet the staff treated my father with urgency, dignity, and genuine compassion. What could have been a chaotic and impersonal experience instead felt human and attentive. After we arrived, the ER team worked tirelessly -- not just medically, but administratively -- coordinating with insurance, social workers, and case management. When my father became stuck in the ER due to complications with his prior facility refusing readmission, the UCLA team did not give up on him. They continued advocating, communicating, and ultimately helped secure placement in a better facility after nearly a week in limbo. That level of follow-through meant everything to our family. I especially want to recognize Nurse Claire in the ER. Her kindness and humanity were extraordinary. She gave my father blankets, made sure he was comfortable, and even offered me blankets, food, and water during a long and emotional night. She cleaned my father up with such care and dignity. After 10 hours of uncertainty, she brought calm, reassurance, and genuine bedside compassion that I will never forget. I also want to thank Dr. Carson Dangberg for advocating for my father during a very unfortunate situation. His professionalism and willingness to step in made a real difference. In one of the hardest moments for our family, this ER team reminded us that healthcare can still be compassionate and patient-centered. We are deeply grateful.

I didn't have to wait for another day or authorization or copayment he just took care of me and I was in an out in an hour. It was empty inside, but then someone a little bit later asked if I had been helped. I sat on one of the couches so I can lift my leg up because it was hurting so bad. I got dropped off and then took an uber home because I wasn't sure how much it would hurt after and since I was already in pain I figured it was safer. First they did a simple test then the EMG test with needles. I just gotta tell you it hurt like hell. The nurse that took me back was really sweet and friendly and sort of talked me through the process before the dr came in to do the EMG test. When the dr came in she was nice I couldn't tell if she was being all the way nice or not but she did answer all my questions and told her all my pain and symptoms she made a note for my neurologist. When she first put the needles in my arm it wasn't bad but then she got to my leg and that oh my gosh hurt like hell. I couldn't handle it cause of how bad it hurt. She couldn't do more cause it was too much for me. But she did get enough of a reading she said to send to my neurologist at least. I see a lot of bad reviews for this place, glad I didn't look at them before i went lol. But glad they took me seriously and tried to help me as best as they could and appreciate the kindness of the nurse bringing me a warm blanket since it was so cold in there. I didn't have a bad experience I would come back again. Hopefully they can give me some answers Have a beautiful day, be kind to all your patients. Aloha

My wife had her well women exam completed by the NP at this location. She has a IUD in place and wasn't sure the date or the type. The NP said that she could electronically message her that information through the EMR. It was only a simple message that was sent to the NP. There was no indication that there would be an charge associated with the online messaging. She logged into her billing portal and found there was an $80 fee associated with this. In all the places I have worked before, never have myself or any other providers or the organizations billed a patient for messages! This is blatant extortion by the people that run UCI health, to take advantage of patients. I am sure there was some training involved to direct this provider to bill for such trivial tasks. Also the facility/doctor fees UCI charges are exorbitant compared to other places. WARNING to future patients, don't go with UCI otherwise you will get a shocking medical bill afterwards!! I plan to fight this and if things don't change, then escalation will be the next course of action (ie news, state representative).

The check-in process was quick and easy, and I was seen within 15 minutes of arriving. I was treated by Dr. Allan L. He paid close attention to the details, clearly explained my diagnosis, and walked me through the prescribed treatment and medications. What stood out most was his genuine concern for his patients. He let me know that if the copay for my medication at CVS was too high, I could call the office and he would gladly prescribe an alternative that was more affordable. That level of care and consideration is rare and greatly appreciated. The check-in staff were also very kind and welcoming, which helped make the entire experience even more comfortable. I would highly recommend this urgent care to anyone who gets anxious about medical visits or is looking to be seen within a reasonable amount of time. Of course, the second reading was better. He was very professional and compassionate! I saw Dr. Victor Nekrasov, who did a thorough examination and discussed the symptoms I've been having. I felt that his questions were good, and I did not feel rushed at all during my time with him. He prescribed a few meds, and I was on my way. They confirmed which pharmacy I preferred, and I opted for CVS located across the street. I was encouraged to return to the clinic and/or follow up with my PCP if symptoms did not improve. It was a very good experience overall, and I would not hesitate to return or recommend this facility to others.
