Went here for thanksgiving buffet yesterday. Will NEVER do that again. Reservation 2pm seated at 2:20. Not organized buffet set up stupidly. Some of the staff serving were rude. I think the only spice used for food was salt. Potatoes and turkey were way over salted. No ambience whatsoever. No background music. Certainly not worth the 30 bucks a head. Plus they add an 18 per cent tip to the bill when they didn't do anything other than pour water and coffee. First time I left a buffet hungry. Very dissapointed. read more

I have hosted Award Banquets, Christmas Parties and attended a Wedding at the Chocksett Inn. The staff is always polite and helpful. The food is always delicious and my guests have consistently given compliments and praise. The coordinator, Sarah is professional and attentive. One of my friends had her wedding planned for this coming February and tragically lost her fiancé in an accident this month. The Chocksett Inn refused to refund any of her $6,000 deposit or refund any of the guests who had booked rooms there. While I understand that last minute cancellations cause issues for the venue or potential lost revenue on customers that were turned away, I seriously doubt that there was a long waiting list for February weddings. I also feel that certain circumstances should be handled with compassion rather than a cold, greedy, business like attitude. Sometimes doing the right thing morally is better than following the rules. Personally I won't be supporting the Chocksett Inn again, although I do hope they have a change of heart and do the right thing. read more

I have never written one of these comments before, but I am so appalled by the rude service I received today at Mother's Day brunch that I felt compelled to write and warn others. After 1 hr 30 minutes we were told we had to leave. This is poor scheduling on their part to space seatings so close together, and even worse management that they would consider kicking mothers and grandmothers out after such a short duration, especially when this time crunch was not communicated when we booked our brunch. Clear that they are just out to make money and jam as many people through as possible rather than provide a quality experience. Food was mediocre at best (desserts decent). Stay away. Many better options out there. read more

Went to Chocksett Inn last night for the first time. The food was fantastic. Got the Mediterranean "light fare" plate and everything was delicious and really fresh. They had rack of lamb on special that was amazing- cooked perfect and almost no fat, melt in your mouth. It's really cozy with the fireplace and overall a great experience. I found the prices really reasonable for the quality. I will definitely be back. read more

8/30-8/31 I have stayed at the Chocksett Inn, several times. When it was under the old ownership as well as the new ownership. Since the take over the Inn has gone through some major renovations. It is slowly becoming just as nice as its sister hotel, The Colonial Hotel, in Gardner, MA. We usually go away 1 weekend a month, and will return to the Chocksett Inn. The room was very clean and freshly painted. Everything was perfect. We went to dinner and were not let down there either. The restraunt is very cozy with an upscale feel. I had a steak which was cooked perfectly, and I am very picky. My wife had a pasta special which was also very good. The mixed drinks we ordered were top notch, the bartender actually came over to see if we were satisfied. The wait staff was very attentive, but not over attentive, it was just perfect. We sat at the bar for a bit and chatted with others as the bar was packed. It is good to get away and just relax. I have not attended a wedding here, but know several who have. They had nothing but good things to say about the food and atmosphere of the function room. I will be attending a wedding here in the fall and will review after... The renovations are coming along great. But with any take over and renovation there will be growing pains. Iin my opinion the new owners are doing a great job in making the Chocksett Inn a must stay in central mass. Stayed just one night, but found the room and bathroom to be immaculate and nicely decorated. Front desk staff member Shawn was very welcoming and friendly. Had a quick drink before we left the Inn for a function off site and found the bar staff to be friendly and capable of making a very good martini. We returned later in the evening for a second drink and were equally pleased with the service. Easy check out and we look forward to staying there again in the future. read more

The Cellar at Chocksett Inn is one of our favorite places. Cozy and welcoming, the staff attends to your every need. We now make it a regular stop after a Sterling friend introduced us to the Inn in the spring. Often we stop in for drinks and an appetizer - the Mediterranean Platter is big enough for three, but end up staying for dinner as the kitchen has wonderful seasonal specials we can't pass up. Our favorites stand-bys are the Wicked Lobster Ravioli and the Lobster, Shrimp and Scallop Parma Rosa. We never go away hungry, the fresh baked bread is amazing and the servers and hostess make sure everything is perfect. Quiet enough to have a conversation, but large enough to accommodate bigger groups. As we live quite close, we can't speak about the rooms, but the grounds are lovely and there is good parking. We are a bit reluctant to give up our hidden gem, but it is worth seeking out if you are in the area. read more

Ate at the Chocksett Inn last night, we have lived in the area for years but never tried the restaurant. So glad we did, the ambiance is cozy, comfortable and pretty. The service was remarkable and the food was absolutely delicious! My husband and I shared a cup of freshly made French Onion Soup with gooey, tasty, Gruyere cheese melted on the top. The Athens Salad was crisp, and crunchy with a hint of mint that was a perfect combination with the Feta cheese. It was so large that we took half of it home. We also shared a burger which was the tastiest, juiciest hamburger I've ever eaten. I was told it was made with Chuck and Short Rib which was a wonderful combination. We highly recommend the restaurant and will be returning soon! read more

We had four (4) rooms reserved for 7/20/18. Confirmed 7/6/18 and was told we only had (3)? Odd, but ok as we were cancelling 2 and might not need any. Oops, called Sunday morning vs 7/7/18 but the lovely gentlemen said surely it would not be an issue as its a TWO WEEK CANCELLATION FEE YOU WILL BE CHARGED FULL PRICE FOR ROOMS IF YOU DON'T CANCEL TWO WEEKS BEFORE. But no that is NOT TRUE! The manager called me the next day and said and I quote "yea, no were are not going to refund your money". I called the General Manager who did not return my call within 24 hours so I wrote a negative review their social media and then commented buyer beware to others and the OWNER TOOK DOWN THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS ON FACEBOOK. A now I can't comment on anything at their hotel social media site or their sister site! Then my husband finds we were charged $530 for TWO ROOMS. Not "let me see if we can get them booked"; or just a deposit no FULL PRICE. Who in the world has a 2 week cancellation fee? I called many hotels and only found 24-72 hours is the norm. BUYER BEWARE!!!! read more

This restaurant was excellent from the hostess and waitress who were friendly and efficient The menu is diverse and interesting. We had the tuna sashimi which is the best we have ever had. The athenos salad was outstanding and full of flavor with a half portion only $6 which was a large portion. The service was quick and atmosphere elegant but cozy, will definitely be going there again. Leominster locals.... read more

The room was pretty nice aside from the dripping water in the closet. The most ridiculous thing about our stay was that they make you sign something saying that they'll fine you $250 for bringing in outside food and beverage! Absolutely ridiculous! You shouldn't be forced to buy their over priced food! read more

The inn is in a great location, easy to find just off the highway. It is about 20 minutes outside of Worcester. The room I had was large and up to date with fast and strong free WiFi. The mattress was very comfortable with many extra pillows. The room it's self was very clean and smelled clean. The bathroom was huge and modern bur lacked a tub but who cares because in 30 years I have never taken a bath in a hotel. The lay out in the room was very spacious and the pivoting flat screen TV and couch made it feel like home. The grounds are nice and the public areas very clean. The continental breakfast was fine with good coffee. The staff were nice and helpful. My only complaint is that a room of this size and quality should have a mini fridge. They do have a policy of no outside alcohol. This must be to get you to use their bar. This was pretty lame since it was not open when I was there and I would have liked a beer after dinner. It sure beats staying any place in Worcester because I was not woken constantly by the sirens of emergency vehicles all night. I will be staying with them on trips from now on. read more
