It has a large bar and comfortably placed tables, dark decor. The service was friendly, yet drinks were slow to the table. Minutes after we received our appetizers, dinner arrived for 4 of the six in our group. They had run out of meatballs for their special chicken parm and meatballs. Eggplant substitution was fair. Went to Welly's on a recommendation from a friend, and man it was good. We went on a Friday night around 7 and we were lucky to get right in to a two top table on the bar side. Server was nice, attentive, as well as all the other staff we encountered. We got one cocktail off the menu, it was a type of Cosmo with a jalapeño on top. As a non-spice lover, the drink was dangerously good. I stuck with ol' reliable, captain and diet (: Appetizer, we got fried calamari, and they were offered to us in three different styles; Traditional, Rhode island, or a Sweet Sesame Spice and we went for the Rhode island. They told us it was cooked in some extra garlic butter I believe but man it was sooo good. Our meals we got fish taco entre with onion rings and the Fig Jam burger. The fish tacos were packed full and very flavorful which sometimes fried fish lacks. If you don't like fig, stay away, but as a new found fig lover, the burger was delicious. The first bite is an explosion of flavors at first with fig, goat cheese, Prosciutto, and then an actual beef burger throws you for a loop. But the more you eat the more you enjoy the unorthodox flavor profile. I sat outside, which was the perfect little area to enjoy an outdoor dinner. The inside is very modern and clean. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. We've been monthly regulars here, but this time we were seated by the door, blasted by cold air, while empty tables sat unused. Even after asking to be reseated, no effort was made. The hostess was dismissive and could not be bothered. So we sat pissed staring at empty tables. The food and ambiance were average, and with the negative feeling of being uncared for, there's no reason to return. My advice for customers: Go to Kith & Kin, Rail Trail or Horseshoe Pub. My advice for Welly's: Train your people and do better. You're quick to suggest 20-25% tips. Earn it. read more

Haven't been here in a while so thought to check their Hamburger Special offered on Monday nights. We were seated right away in a high top table by the bar, nice pleasant adult atmosphere. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered some IPA's along with our hamburgers with bacon and my husband got some sweet potato fries vs regular fries. Prices were low but once you added the bacon and a side of sweet potato fries it turned out to be a regular price for your typical burger. Also, o e thing I remembered from my last visit was that they serve you right away and you're done pretty quick. First timer - I met a friend for dinner on a Saturday! It was packed, and that was a good sign of what was in store. I ordered the Lindsey Haddock, as my friend recommended it and said her family members order it every time! And I was definitely impressed. It was so moist and tender and the sides I chose were delicious and complemented the fish beautifully. Well they use a measured pour. So you get nothing for free here. Their special drink was an old fashioned for $15 (NY City prices). Bartender ask what bourbon? When she said woodford reserve , I said that sounds good. My bill cal and there was. $4 up charge for Woodford. So now the drink was $19! I understand an up charge for premium but woodford is not premium! And if you charge extra tell the customer what that charge will be. No more mixed drinks at Welly's! Beer or water! read more

We ordered takeout this week- two chicken parm dinners. Breading was on top only and it was "MUSHY". We dd order extra sauce as in the past there was very LITTLE sauce on the pasta and chicken - the same small portion was on the recent order. Will not be ordering from Welly's again! The past several times we've ordered from Wellys we've become more and more disappointed. Once we order through DoorDash for pick up, only 8 minutes later does it say on the app that the order is ready. Luckily we don't go there and wait for it. However when we do go to pick it up 30 minutes later we find ourselves waiting atleast another 30 minutes outside in the parking lot, where the communication from their staff is non existent. Tonight we ordered the fig burger and the chicken bacon ranch wrap. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and you would think my burger was still mooing. My partners wrap had no ranch on it. The fries tasted like soggy plastic. All in all horrible experience. Over a year ago we had our first date there so it's always been a special place for us. We started the night trying to get in at Welly's in Marlborough. We didn't have a reservation so the very blunt hostesses told us if we didn't have a reservation they could not seat us. This is the second time at Marlboro this has happened. However when we went online we could have reserved a table for two in 45 minutes. We decided that we would not want to stay here. Some instead went to Welly's in Hudson. We walked in and were met by two very sweet hostesses. They sat us right away and gave us options of where to sit. We then had a waiter, Mason, who I have to admit was one of the best I've had in a while. Very attentive and patient, with no problem giving recommendations. We started with the sautéed mussels, Portuguese style. They were nicely cooked with a great broth and slices of linguistic sausage. Wife then went with the eggplant parmigiana. A great piece of eggplant lightly Battered and cooked perfectly. I went with the spicy cashew chicken with jasmine rice. I loved my dish. The crowd was lovely and friendly. A nice old couple next to us overheard us talking about wordle and we ended up taking to them for a while. The menu was really large and had so many options to choose from. We will be back to Hudson, but not to Marlborough. read more

It came with baked stuffed shrimp, which again had no flavor... just thrown in with breadcrumbs and a little cream.... how boring. Empanadas were doughy and had no burst of anything ... could have got better at Traders Joes. Pasta carbonara.... big vat of cream, bacon, and peas, so much bacon that it should be served with eggs. Nothing we ordered was satisfying. We left with plenty of leftovers, but not sure if we even want to finish them. Would not recommend if you're looking for a craft kitchen. Then when we were ready to get the check, the waiter was nowhere to be found. So the manager came over and we asked her a check. She brought our receipts over and two of the receipts were for my sister's credit card so we asked the lady to come back over and she was so rude to us. She was waving the receipt. No one was charged twice. No one was charged twice. Wouldn't even listen to what I had to say about having two receipts. She was so nasty to us. We found out it was the manager. Does not make a person wanna come back there at all! That should not be the person you want representing you business.
