I love all their locations but Chocolati Greenwood has my heart as my old high school spot. They make the richest hot chocolate. The Europa is my favorite, and they add edible sparkles if you ask for whip! Their truffles are a nice treat, as well. I love the Thai and the Marionberry. We visited Chocolati Café on a Sunday afternoon. The place is really cute and feels like a home, with plenty of space for working or just hanging out. They have a large selection of house-made chocolates, coffee beans, and other food items. We ordered a mocha and three truffles. The mocha was a highlight--really delicious and made with their own chocolate sauce. It's a very rich drink! The truffles were a mixed experience. The quality of the chocolate itself was high, and the fillings were very creamy. However, the added flavors were a letdown. We tried the apricot, marionberry, and hazelnut truffles, but the fruit flavors in the first two were almost non-existent. The hazelnut had a slight nuttiness, but it also wasn't very strong. As plain chocolate truffles, they were great, but as "flavored" truffles, they missed the mark. What a lovely vintage inspired cafe, I got a Mexican mocha recommendation from one of the staff members and it was so yummy! My first one I got hot with oat milk and because it was so good I got an iced one to go. Both delicious, I was able to work from here comfortably. read more

While my mom was doing her hair I started to get hungry so I needed something to help me control my hunger until we get food. The hairdresser told me about this cafe and I am so happy she did. The hot chocolate is made out of actual melted chocolate not the cheap stuff. They have different kind of milks dairy and none dairy. And they have lots of chocolate to choose from yum. The hot chocolate is very rich so if you are like me not a chocolate person you will not be able to finish more than half of the middle cup sizes. I wish I took the small one as I felt bad not finishing it. But my hubby was happy as he mixed it with the double espresso drink he had. Everyone was amazing and very welcoming as we walked in. Like you can tell when the owner and the staff wanting to have happy customers. There was a mixup with my milk which I did order first the almond milk then changed it to the coconut milk but the gentleman who made it didn't hear the coconut milk. So he did apologise and kept asking me to make me new one with the coconut milk and I was like no I am good I love almond milk as well but the coconut milk makes it taste like coconut chocolate so that's why I like to drink it this way. I took chocolate pieces one with pistachio. And one with coco truffle I think. I loved the pistachio one so much. I first came to the Chocolati in Greenwood about 15 years ago as part of a Gorditos, Chocolati, Taproot Theater birthday celebration for one of my friends. We had time after the meal at Gorditos before the start of the play we were seeing, so we walked over to Chocolati and picked out a truffle each, except for the birthday girl who got to choose a few. The truffles were bigger and softer than the ones I was familiar with in a good way. This afternoon, Friday 8 September 2023, I went with two truffles of flavors I do not order frequently - an apricot and a Kahlua. Both were big and soft with a hearty amount of interior ganache. Most of the apricot flavor for that one came from the topping on the truffle. The Kahlua truffle had a subtle Kahlua flavor throughout that I was relieved to find not overpowering. Pricing was good at less than two dollars a piece. Seating outside of the building was available in the form of chairs with a table and benches. Inside, past the ordering counter and tucked away from the entrance, was interior seating with a cozy feel and rustic ambiance. read more

How I heard of this place: How have I never reviewed a place we come to every month (maybe more) for treats? Chocolati is everywhere and with the gooey, melty, chocolately ladled goodness, everyone who has ever been in Seattle for a time would have heard of it...tried it...craved it. Type of cuisine: A typical coffee shop, offering espresso and other beverages, a small selection of pastries, sandwiches and chocolate truffles for all tastes, seasons and curiosities. Ambiance: Dark and cozy, in need of upgrades, but perfect. The corner spot off of Greenwood Avenue and 84th gives way to the display case and bar. Seating at a small barquette facing Greenwood Ave used to be available, and is now covered in local, artists' crafts and blocked. The store seems smaller upon entry, until one ventures back, beyond the for sale items, beyond the restroom, and beyond the espresso bar. Once through that second doorway, it's as if an entire cafe world has opened up. Mismatched chairs and tables are spread throughout for small and large parties. Oftentimes, most tables are taken up by individuals on laptops, but the occasional conversation and laughter can be heard over the music overhead. What I ordered: Always some form of chocolate - either by way of a dark hot chocolate (Dark Vader, Peppermint Patty, Peanut Butter) or a mocha. When hungrier, we often partake of breakfast sandwiches (bacon or sausage), bagels with cream cheese, and the occasional cookie treat (usually the peppermint patty topped chocolate cookie). I don't that I can say enough good things about this place. This will be a new destination stop whenever I am passing through the Seattle area. I am a huge chocolate and coffee snob. I have had a lot of really good chocolate and coffee in my lifetime. THIS PLACE BLEW MY MIND. IT IS THAT GOOD. My friend and I stopped in after visiting a craft store in the area. We had their chocolate drip special which was a drip coffee with some sort of heavenly chocolate in it it. It was so amazing, I felt like I died and went to heaven.The coffee was smooth and the chocolate was so delicious without being overly sweet. They have a wide variety of truffles and I received one with my drink as part of the special. It was absolutely melt in your mouth delicious and it looked like a work of art. Yes, the coffee and chocolates are good. But they've been in violation of the Americans w/ Disabilities Act for months. I emailed the owner privately and he didn't respond. Their manager--and she told me was the manager--told me it was up to me "to figure out a way through" the entrance that's not in compliance w/ the ADA. The onus isn't on the disabled customer to make the business accessible. I haven't been back since and, also, I've let my able-bodied and disabled friends that Chocolati doesn't comply w/ the ADA. None of us will frequent this establishment again. read more

This was just what I was searching for as a good place to get work on a computer done. Lots of seating including a closed-in outdoor space. There is free street parking and free WiFi. The drinks seemed a tad steep in pricing, but it's Seattle. I'll have to come back and actually try their chocolate one day. Lots of people working or hanging out. It was my first day EVER in Seattle. We were already have a tough morning. We yelped the closest coffee shop that was open and this was it. It was heaven walking into a warm café and seeing some yummy chocolates. It is a tiny café. There is just a few tables available, luckily we had one available for us. We decided to warm up and get some coffee. We ordered: Mexican Mocha Latte Soy Latte My soy latte was pretty standard. The Mexican Mocha latte was fabulous. It had a very rich Mexican chocolate taste, very creamy but surprisingly no added sugar. It didn't need it! Overall it was a cute shop with chocolates, pastries, coffee and teas of all kinds. This morning I woke up and the day chose violence, but it didn't stay that way. I was late meeting a friend because I had accidentally poked my eye with my mascara. On top of that when the kind barista handed me the delicious and perfectly toasted turkey sandwich I ordered, half of it just slipped off the plate onto the floor. Without hesitation I was offered another sandwich, no charge, and when I was given the second sandwich the barista offered two truffles as a kind offering to a girl that was definitely having a rough morning (me). I love a good thick hot chocolate and I adore chocolate truffles (Theo is my jam!). This was... fine. Came here for a breakfast date with my husband on a weekend, and we decided to enjoy some drinks from here. Apparently if it's your first time in, you get a free truffle, and so we decided to try two of those as well. I got the house dark chocolate with lavender. I had been considering the European style, which is apparently thicker, but the staff person behind the counter told me that it might be overwhelming for my first time and recommended the house style instead. This was okay. It tasted basically like hot chocolate I'd make at home, except a little smoother. The lavender flavor wasn't very strong, which was the most disappointing part. My husband got their mocha, which he enjoyed. I do recommend stirring though, since when he finished his drink, there was a good amount of melted chocolate at the bottom of his cup. As for the truffles: we tried their 1) wasabi and ginger and 2) dark chocolate salted caramel. The wasabi and ginger was actually very mild. You could barely tell there was wasabi and the ginger was pretty muted as well; no significant bite or even scant to it, which was disappointing to us. The dark chocolate salted caramel was fine. Overall, it seems like a super cool space and great concept, but it didn't quite meet our expectations. Prices for drinks weren't unreasonable. Truffles are fairly standard priced compared to other shops that sell handmade truffles. read more

I visited during Snowmaggedon because I was craving a mocha & time out of my apartment... and what a time to be alive, because this was exactly what I needed on this snowy day. You get one free truffle on your first visit! I just mentioned it I'd heard about this to one of the very friendly baristas and she gladly assisted me in picking out the best truffle to try for my first visit, which was a delicious dark chocolate hazelnut truffle. I also ordered the most delicious soy mocha of my life... and I promise I 100% mean that! I'm generally not a fan of super sweet mochas, and this was a perfect blend of chocolatey goodness, not too sweet, decadent, just excellent overall. I will rave about this café over and over to anyone who asks me for a good mocha recommendation! I usually come to Chocolati for one thing only: Their hot chocolates. The Turtle Hot Chocolate is hands down my favorite. I normally stick with the smaller size since this drink is rich. I also like their Mexican Hot Chocolate if I'm looking for a drink that has a kick to it, thanks to the Cayenne pepper powder. Also, this location serves wine, which is cheaper to purchase by the bottle vs by glass. If you're worried about not finishing it, they're more than happy to re-bottle the wine for you to take home. From what I have heard, coffee is not their strong point. During my last visit, I took a friend here who asked about their coffee and the girl working that day said that the coffee can be inconsistent.
