Food is good. We have enjoyed this place for years. However, cleanliness and service are not what they used to be. The drink station is not clean and the dining room floor is dirty during a slow period. We are also concerned about some of the items marked on the health inspection report. I called in my lunch order (steak and chicken entree) for pick-up. Once I arrived at work, the steak was burned and stringy! It had been awhile since I had eaten Choo Choo, and it'll be even longer before I go back... like NEVER! It was disgusting! I've never had bad fried rice until today. It was completely tasteless and the horrible sauces did nothing to alleviate the situation. What they called bulgogi was in reality a few scraps of very poorly seasoned beef that was nowhere near tasting like anything Korean. The miso soup was also the worst I've ever tasted and the "vegetables" that came with my entree were completely bland and mostly just overcooked cabbage. I am very familiar with Japanese and Korean Cuisine. This place is a disgrace. The Fried Rice is Long Grain Rice fried in Soy Sauce, no diced meat, vegetables, egg, or Green Onion etc. ( is long grain rice even served in either country?), just horrible. The Kim Chi is equally horrible, it is nothing more than boiled cabbage. Not even a hint of Korean Red Pepper, Garlic, or Ginger and definitely not fermented for any length of time. The Teri Chicken was mediocre and the Pork Tonkatsu was burnt to a delightful shade of black. I won't be coming back here any time soon. read more

Waited 2.5 hours on a late Sunday night for food. I've tried ordering Choo Choos before but the wait has always been so long I always cancel my order. Decided to try it out today. Paid extra for sauce that I did not receive, chicken tasted like cubed plastic. Asked for a sprite, wound up with an orange soda? Half of the fried zucchini fries didn't have actual zucchini in them. This place is mediocre food with terrible customer service. They got my order wrong, and instead of trying to make me feel like a valued customer, they did something totally unexpected. They agreed to replace my order with the correct one, but made me return the food that I had taken home. The food is good and the amount of food is even better. For the price you get a nice helping of food. One downside I would say is the steak. I saw them grab a steak out of what seemed to be hot water then throw it on the grill. Other then that the late night hours are also a big plus. Oh, their delivery range is very small. After just a small radius they use a secondary delivery company, Bulldawg Food, to deliver which you have to contact the company either by phone or online, either way its a irritating to have to go through another company. Not to mention Bulldawg Food has to make money so they tack on what they can, where they can. They just need to expand their delivery radius or open another spot across town. read more

Ordering from this place is a mixed bag sometimes its good sometimes its bad. Calling the restaurant isn't any better. I once asked if they deliver to a location in town suites to be exact and I got told no. A week later we have food delivered via uber eats and when we get our food we got crunchy stale rice and hard grilled chicken. You know we think maybe we should contact them directly the same lady that told me that they don't deliver to in town suites suddenly do when given an address. Well as the conversation continues not only will they not fix the problem with the food they're fixing to stale rice was to just throw on a free side of rice the next time we order. Worst customer service of my life. Ordered food at 12:30am, was suppose to arrive at 1:57am. Waited up until 2:30am and food has STILL not arrived. Called the resturant about the order and they said they were so backed up they hadn't even started delivery orders yet, I asked if they knew how long and they guy just cut me off and wouldn't answer my questions. So, I said I wanted to cancel my order because at that point it was too late and I wanted to go to bed. He told me I could not cancel through the restaurant and had to go through ChowNow (what I had to order through) to get the refund. I called ChowNow who said when they tried to call the restaurant to confirm the cancelation so I can get my full refund that after calling THREE times the restaurant did not pick up. I was told they would keep trying to let me know in the morning when my refund was processed. Fast forward to this morning... no call and there's a $16.50 charge on my credit card for food I NEVER received. I call ChowNow again, they said the restaurant never picked and they would try to call again. Once again Choo Choo's did NOT pick up the phone and I was told to wait. 2 hours later I call ChowNow again and they finally get in touch with someone at Choo Choo's who claims she has to call me to get a statement and talk to her supervisor before they can even consider giving me this refund. This has been an absolute nightmare and I will NEVER be ordering from Choo Choo's again this whole thing has raised many red flags to me about how they run their business. tl;dr version: cheap, lots of food, but it doesn't taste good. Longer version: there are definitely some convenience factors here. This place is open late, there portions are very generous and affordable, and the food was cooked fast. These are all things I greatly appreciate in an eating establishment. The downside is that none of those things matter if the food itself isn't good. I had the tofu dish, which comes with fried rice and vegetables. The vegetables were overcooked and had a really bad oily flavor to it (I think it was cooked on a surface that had fish on it right before and was not cleaned). The rice was not a traditional fried rice in that it contained egg and veggies (as the picture on their walls imply) but an overdone rice that was heavy and greasy. The tofu was meh. Not even drowning the thing in sauces could save it. I am told this is the place where you go when you've been drinking at 3 AM and just need some fatty food. Perhaps, but you'd have to be really intoxicated to enjoy it, and, coming from a large city where there are good, cheap eateries still open at 3 AM for that reason, I don't think this is an excuse to serve sub-par food. read more
