    Shawarma-Mama

Healthy, quick, flavourful, reasonably priced for midtown. Prepared fresh and chopped up well. Consistent, good portions, they haven't messed up my order yet. I'm a big fan, I order here once a week for lunch

    Santa Fe with tofu

I was craving a vegetarian salad but all they had was tofu and I didn't have tofu in mind at the time really. Everything else had chicken nd it was too busy for me to stand and even decide to customize my salad. The premade salads were made with chicken. I asked for help and suggestion but was told I can choose any salad and substitute it for the tofu and so I went with the Santa Fe with tofu substitute and it was bleh. It was too cold and flavorless. I needed to add salt for any kind of flavor and the tofu was chewy and didn't taste good. The service staff were like robots just programmed to go and it didn't feel personal. There were no seats, you just get your salad and go. It was a terrible $17 salad.

Latest lunch spot to pop up near the office, first time around got some wraps to go, Shawarma mama & Chop cobb got both in a wrap, so dare I say the wraps are too stuffed ?? as I watched them prepare the wraps it seemed like it would not fit, both very nicely stuffed & both ended up being very good. Chop cobb not bad liked the kale touch to it , the Shawarma-mama good as well a bit on the spicy side. Next time, I had the Southwest Quinoa bowl a lot going on here not bad if u like the spiciness, the pepper jack & spicy chicken added quite the kick. Another time around tried the Chopped Asian & Bibimhop chopped bowls , the Asian bowl was very good nice combo the bibimhop nice tasting meat a bit on the spicy side this one. Small location with some seating, so far never had to wait long when placing an order, salads are prepped to order as u watch the process. Service is good, prices are reasonable in comparison good for lunch or light dinner depending on your appetite.

My mom also has an allergy to chili and the staff was nice enough to go through the menu and help her pick options that worked. Overall, highly recommend Lola's! When my son told me he'd found an apartment in New York, I was thrilled for him, then he mentioned it was above an Irish bar that stayed open until 4 a.m. I honestly didn't know what to expect. I made plans to help him move in, and not only was I pleasantly surprised, I quickly realized this was one of the nicest neighborhood spots in the city. Great drinks, good food, and consistently friendly service. It has everything you want in a local bar. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, and the vibe is just right. A quick FYI...don't let those $5 happy-hour espresso martinis fool you. They're delicious, but they definitely pack a punch. There are great drink specials during the week, and of course, perfectly poured, ice-cold Guinness on tap. Whenever I'm in town and waiting for my son, I stop in and they always remember me. You can't ask for better service than that. If you're anywhere near 29th between Park and Madison, this place is an absolute must-stop.
