    Sweet Spicy sauced boneless wings
    Brian L.

Was looking for dinner adound the area around 8:30pm, but a lot of places start to close around then. Running Chicks was the only place open so my bf and I decided to try it. Running Chicks is located on the front shop facing side of the Mar Center shopping mall right along N Atlantic Blvd. There's street parking (if you're lucky) but a decently sized lot in the back and some more underground parking. Relatively easy to find spots Running Chicks takes up a medium sized space with seating on the left. There is a single use restroom in the back as well. The menu is simple, combos with drumsticks, wings and sides, only wings and some sides. We decided to try the 10 piece boneless wings in sweet spicy and soy garlic sauces and also ordered a curry rice with egg on top. The boneless wings were good, they had a lot of crunch but not an excessive amount of breading. I liked the soy garlic sauce a bit more, though wasn't getting a lot of garlic flavor. The sweet spicy was exactly that, good spice but no ther flavors than sweet...I think it was sorta going for a sweet sour flavor. The curry rice had lots of veggies with pieces of ground beef. It was good as well. The egg went from over easy to overhard as I think the carry over cooking continued to cook on top of the curry rice. Everything also came with a side of pickled raddish. Overall it was good, nothing amazing, which is fine. It's fast casual fried chicken. Would try again if out late and no other options.

Running Chicks was a great find! Went here while waiting for the mochi next door lol. The food was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying, and everything came out hot and well prepared. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was casual and welcoming. The chicken wings are a little small, but overall a really solid spot for the price. I'd happily visit again.

Lemon Pepper & Soy Garlic : 50 wings

Called in to order for pickup because online the food items were a little difficult to understand. But phone call was super easy and quick. I got Lemon Pepper & Soy Garlic : 50 wings. They do orders in increments of 10s (10,20,30,40,50). It comes with a side of coleslaw or radish cubes. I also got 2 side orders of rice. Total came to around $93. I walked in and checked my order, make sure to ask for ranch. They don't automatically give, also I wish they gave me more than just one small container of the radish cubes. The wings were delicious both Lemon Pepper and the Soy Garlic were yummy. Everyone at the party liked it a lot and the size of the chicken wings was great! Would definitely come here to order again! They had a few tables indoor for dine-in. It's a very casual Korean fried chicken spot, if you're looking for a quick and easy meal.

Sooo good as takeout!! They are so friendly over the phone which is good because their menu is a bit confusing for me (the photos on Yelp of the menu don't match the menu on delivery apps). I recommend you just call if you're willing to pickup instead of get delivery. Even as takeout, the chicken is ALWAYS crispy! My friends and I love the soy garlic, although I think their consistency on the sauce is too thin bc it always pools are the bottom of the box and I have to dip the wings. I would recommend retossing them or asking for sauce on the side. I noticed recently that they're giving less pickled radish. Other than that, highly recommend these wings for crispy, delicious, and comforting Korean Fried Chicken. Parking: theres always street parking whenever I pull up on Atlantic Blvd, but the plaza has parking in the back, too! Very convenient.

First time visiting Running Chicks. Three of us dined in, and because I had never been there before, I called ahead of time to ask about the likelihood of getting a table if we went around 5 pm. The woman who answered the phone was very nice! Because it was a holiday (4th of July), I had no idea what it would be like. She said that it should be fine, and that usually they get busy around 6 pm. We ended up getting there about 5:30 pm. It was not crowded, and we got a table to dine in. We ended up ordering the Group Meal #1, which consisted of 10 pieces of wings (we got bone-in), 4 drumsticks, 2 sides and comp side. We opted for two orders of the fries, and the comp side was the pickled radish. Be sure to check in on Yelp to get 1 free wing when ordering wings! They also have a loyalty program--- I received a stamp card and I think I can get a free drink or something next time. The food was absolutely delicious! We got both the soy garlic and the lemon pepper. The chicken was cooked perfectly and juicy on the inside---so good freshly cooked and hot! I loved the soy garlic wings--it was my favorite. JJ commented that they were pretty messy and he needed wet ones. But I didn't mind. The lemon pepper wings were also delicious as well. Drumsticks are really large. The fries were okay---nothing special. We got the regular fries. I love the pickled radish, which goes so well with the chicken. Next time, I would try the coleslaw. I also think the chicken would be great with rice. The Group Meal #1 was a lot of food for the 3 of us, and I took home leftovers. I heated up the wings at home the next day, and they were so good. Ambience was nice, very pleasant and extremely cool, which was such a relief, given the sweltering heat outside. It even got a bit chilly, which was fine with me. There are at least 4 tables that comfortably seat 4 people, and one small table that seats 2. Most of the people were ordering their food to go. I liked dining in, because it was so good fresh and hot! Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended, and I will return. Service was very good and our order was prepared fairly quickly. There is parking in the rear, behind the restaurant.

Medium combo with bone-in wings, fries and soda

I was picking up some Thai food a few doors down and saw Running Chick's pop up on my GPS. Curious to see what it was I walked down and saw a cute Korean chicken shop. I decided to try it since the smells coming out the doorway were divine. I ordered a medium combo (10 bone-in wings with half soy garlic and lemon parmesan. Combo came with fries, small container of pickled radish and soda) for about $20. Food was fresh fried, hot and tasty. Good crunch and lemon parmesan was kind of addictive since it was so tangy compared to the soy garlic. Overall nice combo. Plenty of parking behind the strip mall.

So glad this place was opened on Christmas Day! We had were looking for food. We got the large combo for 2 , $29. 95 bone in. It came with 15 pcs, fries and 2 drinks plus pickles. We got all three flavors: garlic soy, lemon pepper and sweet spicy. The flavours were all great! Love the sweet spicy. I really enjoyed my fried wings and drumsticks.

Soy garlic on the left, lemon pepper at the top, and spicy chili at the bottom, right.

Best lemon pepper wings ever! The soy garlic are also yummy. The spicy chili are good, but I prefer the other two. My mom liked those best, though, so it's a matter of preference. I was so sad when the one in Walnut closed, but glad there's still this one in MPK. Some may consider it a bit on the pricy side, but the flavor, texture, etc. is really good - much better than Wingstop, in my opinion. The place is fine and there's adequate seating if you're eating there, which we did. It's also great that they still have the stamp cards. I would give it 5 stars because I really love the wings and fries. Only two things put a slight damper on things for this location. 1) You're not able to redeem the item on the stamp card unless it's already been stamped from before. If you earn stamps to reach a free item on one visit, you have to redeem it on your next visit/purchase. At the Walnut location we were able to use it on the same visit. But I understand. 2) The girl at the counter was polite enough and brought the items to our table, which was appreciated. She wasn't very communicative, though, and a little direction on some things would've been helpful. It wasn't bad service, but it could've been better. Perhaps she had an off day? Although it's further for us to get wings, etc., if I'm in Monterey Park, I'm glad I can get the lemon pepper and soy garlic.

Their soy garlic is real good here. We ordered the group meal, which came with wings and drumsticks, and 2 sides. Only the wings come with sauce but you can dip the crispy drumsticks in the extra sauce for more soy garlic goodness. Service is great. Seating is limited inside and outside. There's free parking in their lot and on the streets.

They have a boneless chicken bowl?! So good. Amazing. Add eggs, definitely must have.

What's even crazier is that I've been a diehard bone-in/traditional wings believer, but bb.q Chicken's boneless wings converted me to the dark side. In fact, I will shamelessly admit that I only ever order their boneless wings here after having tried them. Unlike other places' boneless wings, which use dry white meat (an absolute abomination IMHO), bb.q Chicken uses actual dark meat and are actual "boneless wings." The Cheesling flavor is to die for. Get the limited time Buldak Cheesling flavor for a special spicy kick. If you want an alcoholic drink with your chicken, I suggest sticking with beer or bottled soju. Their soju cocktails are pretty weak and have a strange pre-mixed flavor to them.

My go to flavors are: Spicy original-- crispy crunchy with a hint of spice Cheesling--- A dry rub nicely dusted with their house cheese powder and a hint of sweetness. Gangnam style-- Wet seasoning with a savory and sweet soy forward taste, with a strong pepper flavor. You'll also get pickeled radish cubes, which provides a refreshing compliment to the strong flavors of the chicken. This place never disappoints.

I've seen people describe restaurants as "no-frills," but this place takes it to the next level. The tiny "dining room," if you can call it that, has a single table with 4 chairs, and there is a standing table by the window with a single stool. There is a tablet where you can order and parts of the "dining room" are used for storing restaurant supplies like utensils, and there are two industrial refrigerators full of chicken marinating. At least there's air conditioning. This place is primarily a takeout operation, and my friend and I were the first two dine-in customers today. The parking lot is a bit hidden in the back and is quite tiny, but again, we were the only dine-in customers. The old lady (seemingly the owner's mom) was very sweet and had me use the bathroom by going through the kitchen. You can see the whole operation, I guess. Despite the very... utilitarian dining room and somewhat cumbersome layout,, the food was excellent! Among all the different Chinese KFC clones that have been opening up the past few years, this is the closest to a Chinese KFC chicken sandwich. The chicken filet was thick, crispy, and juicy, and the bun was toasted to perfection. The owner even gave us some fries on the house, which were impressively crispy without being hard - almost as if they were fried in tallow. They probably were, but I'm not sure and forgot to ask. The egg tart almost had the taste of the KFC's authentic Macau egg tarts (they bought the OG recipe, so) but lacked sweetness. The texture was on point but even as an Asian, it was not sweet enough. Compared to Macho Burger, at $10.99, you get an additional can of Pepsi and an egg tart for $1 compared to just the chicken sandwich at Macho Burger for $10. Pretty good value. Amusingly, we were provided plastic gloves, the type you would often get at fried chicken places in China, despite ordering sandwiches. As my friend and I were enjoying our lunch, there were several takeout orders and orders picked up by delivery drivers. It seems that this place is fairly popular despite the lack of dine-in customers. I'll probably get my next order to go as well.

This restaurant is extremely small with limited seating and there's no bathroom, so plan accordingly! Most orders are for delivery or to-go, and they get really busy between 5:20-6:30 during the week. I recommend ordering via the app to avoid a long wait. Also, make sure to confirm your order, as sometimes they give out the wrong orders. You can order in person, at the kiosk, or via the app. We ordered the kids' meal for our son, which included a 4-piece boneless chicken, Gogo squeez apple sauce, Minute Maid apple juice, and a kids' toy. (Please note that this particular location doesn't offer kids' toys.) Always check your bag at a fast-food place! When I noticed there was no toy, I went back to the counter, and they informed me they don't offer them. She offered a complimentary apple pie instead. Personally, I would have preferred a toy, but it was nice that she offered a substitute. I wish they would let you know upfront on the app. I got the Spicy Chicken Sandwich ($5.99), and it was as good as I remembered. I would definitely order it again. Lastly, we ordered the 8-piece Signature Chicken Family Meal ($26.99) with large Cajun fries and biscuits. I asked for some honey for the biscuits, and they were happy to provide some. However, they are very stingy with dipping sauces; you'll have to pay extra for them! We ordered half spicy and half regular chicken, but neither was very spicy. The chicken was crispy and delicious! I would definitely order the chicken again. The biscuits weren't popular with my family, so we'll skip them next time. The Cajun fries were pretty good. It was nice to satisfy the craving, but I don't think we'll be going back to Popeyes anytime soon.
