I've been ordering from fitrition the last few weeks and I have to say it's a life saver. With two kids (one of which is three months old) having the ability to order some healthy Chinese food and have it delivered to you every weekday is amazing. The food fits the name. It's healthy Chinese food which is a cross between mainland Chinese food and Cantonese food. They use minimal oils which some people may consider bland compared to Panda Express level oiliness but I think is still pretty tasty and healthy. The food varies everyday but consists of a vegetable dish, some protein dishes and a soup. You have the option of ordering 3 dishes plus soup or four dishes plus double soup. It's quite a bit of food so a family of four can do the three dish and more hungry eaters can do the four dish. Just cook your own rice for a complete meal or microwave frozen rice from Trader Joe's! I highly recommend it to give it a shot if you want something healthy for your family at a really decent price. The way to order is call between 11-1pm and let them know if you want the 3 dish ($36) or 4 dish ($46). They'll have it ready for you around 3:30 for pick up or you can have them deliver it to you for $5. Delivery usually arrives between 5-6 pm. Best thing is we offered a tip to the driver but they refused to accept tips! Also you can get a small two dollar discount for each meal if you pre pay for 5 meals! My friend has been raving about this place and I finally had a chance to try it. Calling to order and pick up the food was so easy! You can go online and check out their weekly menu and the food sounds delicious! You have a choice to order 3 or 4 dishes and pick up is after 3pm. Comes with 2-3 side dishes and soup. Learned about Fitrition Kitchen through a post on social media and my husband and I have tried it a couple of times now. It's great for when we're short on time to do our usual weekkly meal prepping. Prices are reasonable when you think about the time and energy it's saving. 3 dishes for $32 with 1 soup or 4 dishes for $40 with 2 soup. The soups tend to be healthier and can be a bit bland flavor-wise. There's always a seasonal vegetable dish that I don't really care for, but the rest of the dishes are typically Chinese flavored. Some of the seafood (specifically fish) is sometimes little in quantity. From my experience, it's best if you speak Chinese and call to book your order in advance for the weekday around 11:30am-12:00pm (otherwise you can email them), and you can usually pick-up after 3:30pm in the afternoon. If you go in the afternoon without booking, you risk them running out of dishes or not having enough for you. The meals for the week (changes daily) are uploaded on their website the weekend in advance. They accept cash or card. I haven't ordered rice before, but I believe you can order it as a side or just make you own. This place has been a reliable local spot to get family style Chinese meals that are healthy and affordable. It's Cantonese style. It's catered take-out only for dinners M-F. I go every week and when you go this often is best to get the prepaid 10 meal plan for $300. Each meal comes with 2 containers of soup (it's more water than a flavorful soup cuz it's a Chinese thing to warm your body to stay healthy), 2 entrees u choose off their menu (they post the following week's menu every Saturday), and a container of sautéed vegetables. No rice-u got to make that at home. It's been a lifesaver for healthy meals when I was on maternity leave! The ladies speak Chinese but will understand some basic English. I was first recommended to Fitrition Kitchen by a nutritionist at a nursing home as to what to feed my mom who liked to eat out, Chinese food mainly, and had to have a low sodium diet. So I order generally once a week and that is sufficient for 2-3 meals. The food is very clean tasting(some people have referred to it being bland), but one should taste the ingredients more so than the sauces or the seasonings. Hence, low salt and low oil. I would have given a #5 rating, if the vegetable dish was mentioned by name, but it was explained that they don't know what vegetables will be bought in; the shopper would determine by freshness, availability, and best price that day. It's a take-out place that is well run! Food is healthy and well prepared, and packed. Price is fair. You may have to make your own rice, but how hard is that? Thank you, Fitrition Kitchen! You can't beat the variety and balanced meal provided to you. The food is enough for 3-4 people and is a home cooked Chinese meal. There is plenty of soup always , a vegetable, then fish or protein dishes. If you went out to shop for the items then tried to prepare at home time alone would stress you out. Ive tried out this dinner-to-go place few times, and each time left me disappointed...bland, oily w/cheap ingredients. It's not justified with the pricy range they are charging for. You are paying for almost $30 for worse than $3.99 lunch special where else. And we are taking about "dinner" here they are selling for?! Finally!!! A health-conscious minded business comes along in Monterey Park! Definitely saved me from deciding which restaurant / fast food to go for dinner take out during my busy work days now. it's been 2 months since I first signed up and I can't stop recommending them to my friends. I'm on their meal plan of 3 entrees and 1 soup delivered daily and it's totally worth it. Each week's dishes are posted on their website and you can make substitutions if there's a dish you don't like. If you need to skip a day, just use the contact form on their website and tell them to skip the delivery and they'll email a confirmation to let you know it's been received. So far, they've been very accommodating. For $21+tax, you get 3 Entrees + 2 tubs of soup, and that's enough for me and my wife for dinner and packing a good size lunch the following day. Before Fitrition Kitchen, I was spending 2K a month on eating out, not to mention eating late. Now, our dinner is delivered before 6pm, we can eat and finish before 7 and have more time to relax. The time I saved alone is worth it, not to mention that it is much healthier than eating out and saved me a ton of money. Just a warning. This is healthy by Chinese standards, but not necessarily healthy by American standards. You will still get the fatty pork once in a while but it's definitely less oil and salt. I always drink a big bowl of soup before starting on the entree and that has helped control my portion to a more reasonable level and helped me lose some weight. My good friend bought and brought me dinner from this place because it happened to be a particularly stressful day - for the both of us! The food was extremely healthy and you can tell the owners put a lot of effort into preparing the dishes. The portion sizes were generous and good for a family of 4. We got 2 entrees + 1 veggie dish + 2 containers of soup which would have taken me 1.5 hrs or more to prepare on my own. My friend Amy (I think her review is right below mines) said it was around $21 bucks which is a total steal for what you get! 3-time NOT a charm! I've generously given this place a try (3 times) and it's a failure indeed. Each of my order were BLAND, and it's definitely not tasty...no flavor what so ever no matter what ! They give you generous portion, on rice. Other than that, 2 greens (very cheap simple one that you won't purchase in the markets) and one meat dish. No MSG alright BUT it's no taste. I couldn't even finish it in once nor twice. I used their generous steam rice to make fried rice out of my own, stir fried w/other better ingredients I have at home. Soup tasted as if you dump in water boiling with few drop of salt, period. Hey, this is not a cheap meal for almost $30 even tho it sounds like it...3-dish + soup w/rice. You can get much better 'lunch special' deal in any Chinese restaurants for cheaper price with better flavors & varieties. Low salt no MSG healthy food this place claiming?! We're new parents, so having a place where we can get good, relatively healthy food for not too much has been amazing! Every week has a different menu, which they post on their website on Saturday, and we check to see which meals we want for the week. If you change which days you get food (which I like doing because some days aren't as much to my liking as others) you call before 3 pm on the day you want to pick it up. The food is more homestyle than restaurant, and there's plenty of it. We usually make one additional vegetable and add more veggies to the soup, and it serves as dinner and lunch for two of us, and we eat more than most people. read more

What does one do if one is not a domestic princess by any means and having a cranky 88 years old father at home who cannot live without Chinese food? Consider Fitrition Kitchen as a god send! When my father had his last stroke in April of this year, I was stressing out as to what I should do about his lunch and dinner....He absolutely refused to eat Meals on Wheels which created such a problem for me since I also work full time. Hiring someone to come in and cook two meals a day is out of the question because he also does not like strangers in the house. One day, I was looking through the Chinese newspaper and there was this ad for Fitrition Kitchen....I called and asked them some questions and looked on their website and promptly ordered my first meal for my father and I have been doing it ever since. Justin and his team are really miracle workers and their food is as good and as home cook as it gets! In fact, their soups and their dishes are some of the soups and dishes that my mother used to cook when she was still at home. For example, the pear and fig soup, the watercress and almond soup are some of the choices. The stir fried egg with bbq pork and chicken in portuguese sauce are the dishes my mother used to make. My father has not complain since - only about the broccoli - for some reason, he does not like American broccoli. In addition, Fitrition Kitchen will deliver to your home and that is a big plus in itself! For those of you who worry about sodium, oil and msg in Chinese food, I can assure you that Fitrition Kitchen cook with very low sodium, little oil and no msg. My father is diabetic, has high blood pressure and congestive heart failure so I actually would prefer him not to eat any Chinese food because it is so high in sodium, oil and msg. But again, for myself who is not a big fan of Chinese food, Fitrition's food is wonderful!
