Finally found a really good Mediterranean place close to work. Simple concept, order and take a seat and wait for them to call your name. I ordered the chicken over rice and added spicy sauce. Will go again - Heads up, this review is more positively rated based on the options for a mixed platter in the DFW area, rather than comparison to NYC options. It would be rated 1 star lower comparing to NYC. I usually stop by this place after my haircut, as it's on the same street. So far, I've only ordered the same item: Manhattan Style Combo. It is one of the better combo platters in the DFW area, especially compared to Halal Guys. They're not the same as when they were original / not chained back in the old NYC days. I've been here about 5 times, both solo and with my wife. Seems to be run by an Indian couple. You order at the counter and they call your name when its ready. The food tastes fresh with a reasonable amount of spice - they can probably "amp" it up if you ask them to. They have fish, chicken, lamb as well as some vegetarian options (falaffel, lentil soup, paneer). You can get typical food form factors including rice bowls, salad bowls and pita sandwiches. I ordered a gyro sandwich and it had what I think was some sort of melted cheese in it. It was definitely an unpleasant surprise- I've never had a gyro with cheese like that. The meat did not seem fresh either. The fries were more potato wedges - not great but at least edible. The restaurant seemed clean, but it took awhile to order and get our food despite us being the only ones there at lunch time. I won't be returning based on the food taste alone. But I had a rough day. From waking up to the drive home. I decided to to stop there instead of cooking dinner. And from walking in the door to eating my meal. The gentleman taking my order asked, "mild, medium, or hot." Typically, I choose hot, but something told me to go with medium. Glad I did! Very spicy and so yummy!!! It was perfect. The chicken is cubed and already prepared in a hot table, so I cannot attest that it was actually cooked in a tandoori. Regardless, it was a solid street food style dish at a good price. Side salad was fresh, even with shredded iceberg lettuce. And the sauce over all was on point. Overall a good value for the price. Place appeared clean, but no one there at dinner except for a guy over at a side table. So people, go and eat here. When I came in, there was only one customer in there. No greeting. I lingered at the menu and took some pictures, there was a woman and a kid behind the counter. Again, no greeting. When I stepped up to the counter, the kid assisted me "here or to go?". No formalities, no "hi, have you been here before? Can I help you pick out something?". Seeing as it is a new business, I would imagine they would be more friendly to take time out with any customer that comes in. Also, as I was eating, several customers came up to the counter and they at least got a "how are you?". But even as I left, there was not a "thank you" or "good bye".
