This place is a staple of Butler and I've enjoyed it every single time I go. The staff is extremely kind, and their food tastes so great. The only reason I'm doing 4/5 stars is because the owner has started changing things that I think don't need to be changed. The salad, for instance, is now some grilled lettuce salad with tons of random toppings. Sometimes simple can be good, but I do think the unique dishes they come up with are a nice twist. read more

Had a really memorable lunch here a couple weeks ago when passing through. First off, they were VERY accommodating. When we asked if we could sit on the front covered patio area that closed so that we could keep an eye on our little dog in our truck parked out front, Lindsay greeted us and said "sure! In fact you can bring her in." How nice is that! Now, the food! It was obvious there is some real skill in their kitchen. My wife had the soup of the day, a cabbage and tomato, and it was unlike anything she'd ever had and was marvelous. She had a beautiful ribeye perfectly done (another accommodation because we were a little early for the official start of dinner service where steaks are offered) and she loved it. I had the Cobb salad topped with buttermilk fried chicken, a large beautiful salad with roasted cherry tomatoes and other very fresh usual Cobb ingredients. But the fried chicken elevated this salad to highly memorable, with the generous serving bursting with juiciness and flavor. When I go back I'm getting that chicken again in a sandwich or by itself. Amazing! So, we had the perfect lunch. What a pleasant surprise for a quick stop in an unfamiliar town. Lindsay was very friendly and chatted with us a bit while taking great care of us. Needed a quick lunch in town and asked some friends in the area for recommendations and this was the immediate response. Staff was very friendly, menu was diverse, and the food came out fairly quickly. Waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, offering good advice on the options. After some deliberation of the many appetizing sandwiches, I went for the sausage wallet. This includes Italian sausage, cheese, banana peppers, onions, with garlic butter on focaccia. This was outstanding and although many options sounded great, I was pleased with my choice. Sandwiches here are great, service was exceptional, location was perfect right in town. We walked over from our hotel so I'm not sure about the availability of parking, but definitely a worthwhile stop for a bite to eat. read more

Terrible customer service, waited 20 minutes for drinks, the waitress was in the back dawdling around (I think she forgot about us). Another waitress told us our drinks were on their way, but the restaurant was not even busy, there were four other tables, and at least three waitresses that I saw. I told her they were "obviously TOO busy for a fifth table" and left. Absolute worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a while. I cannot fathom how that waitress gets any tips. Always delicious food and service here. We had the hummus of the day with pickled veggies to start. The hummus had a unique flavor and paired perfectly with the warm Flatbread and pickled veggies. For lunch we ordered a chicken quasadilla for our child, it was definitely as big as what I would expect an adult version to be. I had the special burger of the day, a bacon blue burger. The burger was cooked perfectly, the blue cheese was very creamy, and the additional spicy sauce on top just complimented the burger perfectly. read more

Jackpot! Jackfruit! Gotta try the jackfruit quesadillas. You won't believe your eating fruit and not meat. The rabbit tacos are also really really good. On the suggestion of the Starbucks barista from this morning; we stopped in here for a late lunch/early dinner before the 2017 Butler Jeep Heritage Festival Downtown Invasion. After we shared the appetizers; my nephew had chicken fingers (off the kids menu), my father had the buttermilk chicken sandwich and I had the pulled pork sandwhich. Everyone loved their food and we all had french fries on the aide that were awesome. After the meal we all shared a piece of cookie explosion cheesecake that they made in house. So good. We were all so full after this meal. Best place we've tried out here in the Butler area. Definitely keeping this one in my bookmarks for next year's BJHF! read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. Last night I went in about 13 minute before closing (unbeknownst to me), and the server gave me a menu and never even suggested they were closing soon. (I just was going to ask to be sure anyway.). So when I realized, I told her I didn't want to do that to the staff and promised to come back. She tried to make me feel comfortable to stay (even tho they would no doubt have to clean everything again). I was just really impressed with how committed they are to a happy diner. I'm glad to say I made it back 23 hours later and enjoyed a terrific fried chicken Cobb salad. You seriously can't go wrong here. I will have to return another few dozen times to keep trying out such creative, excellently prepared foods. And of course, the great people are a plus too. Thanks Chop Shop team! I am still trying to reconcile the experience I had at the chop shop with their 4.5 star rating on yelp. I must say this rating really got on my nerves. I know a restaurant can have a bad day. Maybe the chefs were new...maybe their heater broke...maybe we were one of the last to eat and everyone was tired??? Either way I have to give A rating according to my experience. From start to finish this restaurant was not good. The restaurant was dimly lit and freeezing cold. I didn't take off my coat the entire time I was there. The decor looks like your in a garage, vintage, kinda dirty looking too. I used the bathroom which was strangely located in front of the kitchen. I washed my hands and there was no warm water. Our waitress was a very nice lady and she was extremely efficient. Which is why I gave this restaurant 2 stars and not 1. I ordered the cheeseburger soup which was so cold and it had a weird film on top. The soup was so incredibly salty that I could not have a second spoonful. I paired the soup with the Land Yacht, which was full of meat but not flavor. I ordered fries with it and they were cold too. All in all I won't be back here again. This was one of those cases that yelp ratings reflect zero truth about the restaurant. read more

The entire menu is so good. The sweet potato bread and fries are super tasty. The goat burger and salad are my favorite.

OK, as I started to write this I was torn between 4 and 5 stars. But then I realized I've driven all the way to Butler just to eat here. More than once. If that's not a 5 star destination then what does that say about me? Wait, don't answer that. Well, if truth be told, I did walk across the street and have a beer or two at Reclamation Brewing but that's beside the point. The food here is fabulous. I defy you to read through their menu (which is humorous and so drool inducing!) without saying. "Oo, I'd like to try that.. oh wait, maybe I'll get this instead...oh or maybe this..and I'll start with that soup...or maybe those wings..." See, it's like that. There is so much on that menu that will blow you away. I've sampled many things and am just breaking the ice. Let me help you with that. Turns out you can't go wrong. The buttermilk chicken sandwich? You won't believe your taste buds. Eternal Damnation? Yeah, you will smack your lips. Land Yacht? It's on half a loaf of Italian bread. Boom. The Doc with pulled pork and cole slaw? Yes please. Even the side salad (which I recommend instead of the angel onion straws) is nearly a meal in itself. Service for us has always been first rate and attentive. The atmosphere is really cool with a hint of Quaker Steak decor but different. And it is BYOB! So yes, it's "just a sandwich shop". Yeah, like a Porsche is just a car or a diamond is just jewelry... Unbelievably creative sandwich menu & superb service! It's tough to decide what sandwich to order because they all sound amazing. I'm obsessed with their Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich that's loaded with bacon & coleslaw. To die for! I sampled The Doc with bbq pork & coleslaw and the burger with beets on it. Both are solid choices. They also serve Hare Tacos that another friend says are terrific. Side options are fries, homemade chips, angel onion rings which are more like onion straws than rings, or a side salad which was mammoth & very tasty with the house balsamic. Interesting vibe that combines rustic, motorhead memorabilia & nostalgic rock'n roll and it totally works. Long wall of comfy booths after you enter past an outdoor covered seating area. Butler needs more places like the Chop Shop! I've heard great things about this place and I've been wanting to stop in for a long time. I honestly didn't know what to expect, except when looking at the menu, I expected bold flavors. And that's exactly what we got! Shortly after being seated, our server greeted us with two pieces of their jalapeño corn bread, which I must say, was on point. Sweet and slightly spicy. As for our meals, I got the hare tacos with a side of fries and the hubby got a Reuben with a side of chips. The hare tacos were considered an appetizer and the portion was pretty small. You basically get 4 bite-sized pieces. The flavor was pretty good, which you really can't tell that the meat was hare. Although you'd think that would be the star of the show, I'd have to give it to the Reuben. The bread was perfectly crispy and buttery, not at all soggy like other Reubens I've tried. The meat was abundant and it was altogether a darn good sandwich. Too bad I don't make it to Butler too often, but this is the place to go if you're looking for bold and creative flavors in Butler! read more

Hip, reasonable prices, funny menu titles and descriptions (It was the first time that I ever saw "that's what she said" on a menu.) ....lol, did I mention hip? Sorry to overemphasize this, but by Butler standards, this place gushes with hipness. It's nice to see a new business replace the Rocky Mountain Deli (which the rumor mill has it that the place closed for tax reasons). The waitstaff is nice. They were a little overwhelmed today though because it was the last day of school for Butler students. I didn't mind waiting to order though because then I had more time to peruse their creative menu. Nice wood tables, wood floors, exposed brick, plenty of seating...and a ridiculously huge "Eat Here" sign... I definitely will "eat there" again. read more

Okay... good for you little Btown! You finally have a place that has a little hip to it. The atmosphere is really fun with all its used-and-abused gas station and roadside memorabilia. The menu seemed appetizing with some 'big city flare' (kinda cringed there just writing that, but it's true) and slightly healthful choices for the carnivores. They do also accommodate vegetarians slightly and vegans even slightly less, but they were definitely accommodating. Like that or not, whether its heard or not, vegetarian and vegan lifestyles are becoming way more prominent even in smaller cities... and they are the people who don't mind spending money going out to eat something delicious! If they don't know you have options, they won't come (good or bad I suppose!) I'm not sure why meat has to be equated with gluttony and over the top decadence in smaller cities like this.. It's like, "I eat meat wrapped in meat on a mayonnaise meat wrap and proud of it" attitude. But they really do a great job here. The staff was super fun, the place was clean and it brought a nice downtown vibe to downtown. It's online presence however is sincerely lacking.
