Hot and sour soup loaded with tofu, veggies, mushrooms in a thickened base. Soooo good

Consistently good Chinese-again. Hubby and I had luncheon plates with pork fried rice which was loaded with ingredients and really tasty, pork foo young, good, as usual ( heck, everybody has an off day), and the orange beef which is tender and crisp, and not syrupy sweet. We eat a lot of Chinese food, I have to say, this place is consistently the best. I'll return time again and again.

We usually order here for dinner. When I call for pickup the food is usually ready within 15 minutes. The food is good and I haven't had a bad experience here. We will continue to order take out from here.

Happy hour is offered Monday through Friday from 4pm to 7:30pm and is served at the bar only. We were lucky to arrive early since we were told by several people that it gets very busy. We ordered a little bit of everything. For drinks, we tried multiple Komodo Dragon and Mango Madness cocktails, which were $7 each during happy hour. We also ordered several happy hour appetizers and rolls, including the pork gyoza, popcorn chicken, chicken tempura roll, California roll, and American Dream roll. Everything tasted great, the presentation was nice, and the customer service was excellent. I ordered a Yuzu Mule but didn't care for the flavor. The bartender was very accommodating and happily switched it out for another drink, which I really appreciated. The ambiance was welcoming, with dim lighting and beautiful wood decor. We really enjoyed our outing and plan to come back again to try more from the menu.

The decor was beautiful; I really liked the consistent use of their logo, proudly illuminated at all the tables, which gave the space a sophisticated appearance. Even the menus were nicely done. I found myself gazing at the pictures instead of picking out my meal. To start we ordered the Japanese Clear Soup and the King's Treasure Roll. Both starters were delicious. The soup was served hot, lightly seasoned, and it really felt like comfort in a bowl. The treasure roll was good; we just had a hard time trying to pick it up with the chopsticks, as it was very slippery. With a little patience, we managed to get it. For beverages, we went with the Blueberry Lemonade and Virgin Mojito. Although both were decent, they were a little underwhelming and could've used more flavor. Next time, I might just order the Pineapple or Mango Virgin Mojito to see if it's any better. Our Entrees were great. My husband ordered the Spicy Crabmeat Crusted Filet Mignon, and he demolished it. I chose to go with two specialty rolls, The American Dream Roll and Rock N Roll, both fantastic. For dessert, we chose the Matcha Cheesecake and the 3 Flavor Tempura Ice Cream (vanilla, chocolate, and green tea). The cheesecake itself didn't have a strong Matcha taste, but that matcha ice cream was all the way IT! I could've had a bowl of that and been very satisfied. Really, their ice cream game is solid, so good! Lastly, our server Nicole was the cherry on top. She was so welcoming and attentive, offering suggestions, and providing descriptions of the menu items, she never made us feel bad for asking "What's That". All in all, we had an awesome experience at Takumi and look forward to visiting again.

I've been to a good number of AYCE sushi spots, and this is hands down the best one yet!…read more The have a unique menu unlike other sushi AYCE spots, including the jellyfish salad, double sweet (jalapeño tuna over a rectangle of deep fried rice), the Howie Special (sliced raw pepper tuna), and even fried Oreos for dessert too. All the ingredients tasted very fresh, and I was also happy to see it opening til late since we were coming back from a roadtrip. They also have a wide selection of yummy special rolls which you can't beat for the price, but do be warned, they are more filling in case you're trying to fill up on a lot of sushi. Service was quick, and servers frequently came by to ask what we wanted to order (which they either took the order on a notepad or via their iPad). There was also no wait when we got there, and it was a nice mid-higher tier sushi spot with a few larger groups still there close to closing time. I loved that they didn't fill up too much rice on the sushi rolls. It was also a sweet surprise that the green tea and red bean ice cream, which was fairly creamy by surprise, also paired nicely with my fried Oreos. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely come back!

The chef was going back and forth between two grills, cooking portions of the meal on each and then sharing food across the grills. Because he was trying to manage both tables, the food suffered--the eggs were burnt, and everything felt poorly coordinated. The hibachi experience itself also lacked the energy, interaction, and entertainment you expect when choosing hibachi. Even the guests at the table next to us commented at the end of the meal about how poor the experience had been, so we clearly weren't the only ones disappointed. We came for the full hibachi experience and unfortunately did not receive it. We left feeling like we should have gone somewhere else. Very disappointing, and we will not be returning.

We got delivery from here last night and it was amazing!…read more My sister, her fiancé, my husband, and I (finally) decided on ramen for dinner. We were about to order from Oh! Ramen, but I remembered this place tucked away on 110 near Costco that I've passed 100 times and suggested it. When everyone saw the menu and their more unique offerings, we immediately pivoted and ordered from here. My husband picked the vegan curry tofu ramen, my future brother-in-law picked the spicy wonton ramen, and my sister picked the wild pepper ramen. Everyone loved theirs! I sampled the curry broth and it was delicious. I had dental work last week so I've been cautious of what I can eat so I picked just the miso broth with noodles and added a side of egg and a side of the beef shank. The beef shank was able to be cut with a plastic spoon with how tender and delicious it was. The eggs were perfectly gooey in the middle, and the broth was exceptional. We all agreed we wished there was a bit more broth in their bowls but that's our only complaint. I need to come back here to eat in the restaurant next time!

We went before the dinner rush and were seated right away. They also offer bubble tea and a nice selection of beers, which is a fun bonus. We started with edamame and shrimp shumai to share, both simple and tasty. I had the seafood ramen, which was packed with flavor and loaded with shrimp, scallops, and clams--comforting and delicious, especially on a cold night. My husband had the shrimp donburi and really loved the grilled shrimp, which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The service was great, definitely a great place to warm up on a cold winter night.

When I think of hibachi, I think of Benihana, which I feel is not really authentic Japanese but Americanized food. Kind of like Panda Express for Chinese food. So nice!! Omakase means to leave it up to the chef on what to eat and the chef's selections were amazing! Lobster, sweet shrimp, Uni, A5 wagyu, fatty tuna and other delicious selections. We also had a sake they recommended, which went so well with the food. The complimentary dessert was probably my favorite. All in all, a great meal. We just had omakase at Inatome recently and if i had to pick the best, I would probably say Inatome but it is very close. Sasa is much easier to get to so if you don't want to drive to Valley Stream, go to Sasa. TIP: make sure you make reservations in advance because they have to procure the seafood for the omakase.
