I have been to this location multiple times over the last 12 months, and every time has been a terrible experience. The food tastes good, but the service is dreadful. This has been during Covid, so I understand there was a certain level of adjustment in the beginning, but now I feel there is no excuse for the lack of time management and customer service at this location. I've been to the studio city and Burbank location and they are great. This location never has my order ready when it says it's ready. I continued to go here because the food tastes good and it is near my work, even though they always started my order when I walked in, which was always after the pickup time. Today, was the last time for me. Today I ordered and the pick up time was 12:51pm. I came in at 1:18pm, and they weren't even making it, as always. I have a timed lunch break and I came in almost 30 minutes after pickup and it still wasn't even being worked. The sad part is when I complained, they made it within 2 minutes (vegan chopurrito), so I don't understand how they couldn't have this ready within the 45 minutes from when I placed the order. My coworker, who also ordered at a different time, was there and they couldn't even find her order, and argued with her and were rude even though she had proof of her order. This is what made the decision for me and prompted me to write a receive. This location does not know how to manage their time with orders and lack customer service skills. So to sum it up, I will no longer be ordering from this location. read more

Great fresh salads that are a large portion at a great value. I've had the Chef's chop, Viva Mexico Chop, and the Kale chop and these are my favorites. They have other creative salads and you can even make your own. They have lots of salad toppings to keep your salad fun. There's also wraps so you can get some heavier carbs in if needed. read more

But every time I place my order for my wrap online, they always make it dry with the sauce on the side, when the ordering form online even states the dressing would be tossed in regular. If you are looking for a quick and healthy lunch, Chop Stop is definitely a great place to get your grub on. The menu consists of their signature salads or you have the option to create your own. My favorite is the Cobb Chop w/out the sunflower seeds. It's about $10 and they give you a huge portion! I prefer choosing a signature salad and just substituting whatever toppings I wish. Creating a salad from scratch will cost more because you are pretty much paying for each topping. read more

Chop Stop is a great way to enjoy salads more often. The place is clean, staff is friendly and ingredients are fresh. Unfortunately, for a place that prides itself on salads, I found the dressings far less than desirable. When I opened the blue cheese dressing it had a similar aroma to Elmers Glue. The taste was fairly flat, not rich. Thank you for staying open late. I'd highly recommend changing whatever vendor you are using for your dressings and seek better quality. Thank you for listening. Horrible parking in this shopping center especially during peak hours. Wait was about 5 minutes, a lot of options to order from, salads, bowls and wraps. I ordered the Mexi Wrap honestly nothing special about this wrap, I've had better. $10 for a cold wrap that had more black beans than chicken, I could barely taste the other ingredients let alone the chipotle sauce. I was thinking of having this place catered at a party that we are throwing, good thing I got to try it prior. Would I come back, ehhh chances are slim. Plus that they have a variety to choose from but they need to know how to balance all the flowers. I was full after eating this but it was probably from all the black beans. =/ read more

I love the idea of this chain. It's a very efficient and fast way to get a healthy meal. Unfortunately, it has a very artificial taste. The only "fresh" aspect to my salad were the avocados. It could be perhaps my specific order, but there wasn't much taste to the salad. I would recommend opting to making your own salad option. read more

I love salads, so I'm giving this place 4 stars simply because they have a great variety of toppings to choose from, the ingredients seem fresh, and the employees are pretty friendly. You can either order one of their set salads (BBQ chicken, kale, mexican, etc.) or build your own. I personally think it's a better deal to go with one of their set salads because you can always substitute out any of the toppings, but if you create one from scratch, they charge extra for premium toppings (such as chicken, tofu, etc.), so you might end up spending $10-12 when most of their set salads cost around $8. You have the option of getting your salad tossed in dressing, tossed lightly in dressing, or having the dressing on the side. All of their salads are made fresh to order, so you can customize the lettuce blend you want, too. The default is half iceberg and half spinach, but I prefer half spinach and half romaine...or sometimes I'm willing to pay more for kale. Keep in mind that the lettuce is always chopped and never served whole...hence the name of the establishment. They also have soups, bags of chips, vegan cookies, assorted sodas and juices here. I had a weird bottled iced tea from here, which I would not recommend! My husband likes that they have Mexican coke here in extra tall glass bottles. Overall, the food is nice and healthy! I think I've found my go to healthy spot in the valley! Chop Stop specializes in chopped salads. Although it sounds really simple, it makes the salad so much more enjoyable. What are chopped salads? All of the ingredients are literally chopped up into little pieces, which makes it easier to eat! The prices are a lot cheaper than usual salad places that I've been to. I think the most expensive option on the menu was $9. If you're a picker eater like me, you can opt for making your own salads. Something I want to come back for is their chopped salad bowls. They're kind of like Chipotle bowls but a lot healthier. I think I'll feel a little less guilty about eating them at Chop Stop. read more

UPDATE!! So today for lunch I decided to try this place again.. as I've been to the one in Burbank (which I have to do a review for).. and have been impressed by their serving amounts. They fill almost all of the togo salad bowl they give you. This location sadly not so. It's kind of irritating to get a rather large and DEEP salad bowl only to have barely half of it filled. It they are going to stick with serving small portions they should just reduce the size of their salad bowls, then perhaps it wouldn't be so in your face. I started to point it out to the staff..but just let it go as this will be my last trip. Too bad.. because it really is a good idea and the salad IS fresh.. it's just apparently my hungry is too much to be quench by their menial servings. read more

My brother and I had lunch here and it was my first time. Like Pizza Rev, you can order off the menu or create your own. My brother had the "Wasabi Veggie Chop" and my creation consisted of spinach, almonds, egg whites, avocado, cucumber and wonton with their honey dijon dressing. It was really refreshing and the nice thing is that it comes in a clear plastic bowl with a lid in case you don't finish - it's easily taken home. My brother had iced tea and mixed a bit of the Minute Maid pomegranate lemonade while I mixed the lemonade with just a splash of the pomegranate and loved it. The menu also allows you to turn your salad into a wrap, so I'll try that version next time. I loved the chopped texture with the added crunch factor - nothing too large so it was easier to eat and not choke. I will eat here again. read more

Eating healthy is hard enough when seeking food that is not freshly cooked at home. At Chop Stop, I felt happy to know that all the choices were indeed fresh. There are very healthy selection of salads but in order for it to be healthy, ask for the dressing on the side....not ranch but balsamic ? Also, they don't make it hard for you to order and the service is very quick. I got a basic Santa Fe type of salad. It is very clean inside. The 4 stars is because of how cheap the food is. On average $9.00ish is typically how much you would spend per meal. I would come back here especially after leaving the gym....the guilt trip is real and this place will make up for that. I placed an order for pick-up, staff lunch. Nice person on the line, she told me 20 minutes for a Chop Stop, custom salad, and Cilantro Onion chopurrito. I stall and get gas on the way. I get there 40 minutes after my initial order...they haven't even started on my order. I pay for the food and looked around the place. It didn't look particularly busy, but maybe I missed the busy time? Anyway, my name is called, I look at the bag and see only 1 item. I tell the guy that passed it to me, I'm missing 2 more items. So again, I wait... What's the point of calling in my order ahead of time when they make it after I get there? I expected to be in and out since this place was 15 minutes from my work. I don't know if that experience soured my lunch for me, but I thought my food was only decent, nothing special. I had the Cilantro Onion chopurrito with Cilantro Lime dressing on the side. Instead of the crispy onions, I had tortilla strips. I may give this place a try again and see if the service will be different next time. read more

We were driving down Ventura in Encino totally craving a salad, so I got on yelp and found Chop Stop. I have to say, this is definitely a first for me. I was reading some of the other reviews and didn't realize salad places like CS is basically like the million yogurt places out there ( pinkberry, menchi's, etc). Anyway, walked in and was overwhelmed with the smell of dressing. It was weird at first, but after being in there for a while, I guess you get used to it. I ordered a ceasar salad and the BF got the Waldorf. In my opinion, the portions are pretty large as I could not finish the whole thing... I enjoyed my ceasar very much and maybe it was because I was starving, but it was pretty darn good. I liked the chopped eggs in it! The Waldorf was pretty good too, at least the first half was. The first 6 bites you take are refreshing and delicious. You taste the chopped apple and the raisins in the salad and its perfectly sweet and crisp, but after that it gets really sweet and the sweetness starts to take over and then it wasn't so good anymore. Ultimately, we ended up switching salads as the bf was not digging the waldorf, so I gave him my ceasar. Overall, nice spot to stop in if you're in a rush and need a "fast food" salad place. The workers are friendly, your order comes out quickly, and the way they serve it, its easy to take with you on the go. I'm intrigued and would like to check out the other places that are suppose to be like CS. I'm always down for a good salad. Ill be yelping their competition, so stand by ;) read more

It's clean, ingredients look, smell and taste fresh and the girls making my salad were very patient when I took my time deciding which 6 toppings I wanted (no meat for me). At one point I will admit that I looked down at my salad and said, "damn, did I really just drop $8 on a mixed salad when I could make one at home..", but it's worth it, atleast in regards to how maby dishes I won't be washing if I had made one at home. The Chop Stop specializes in all things chopped as it pertains to salads where one can either choose from multiple ingredient pre-creations like the Classic Ital chopped starring the likes of salami, peppers and garbanzos on a palette of finely minced romaine tossed in a pungent vinaigrette or even the chopped take on a classic Cobb. More fun is the make-it-yourself salad which riffs on the build-a-burger concept at places like The Counter. You start by choosing your greens - spinach, romaine, iceberg, etc. Then you choose any six accouterments from a lengthy list of proteins (everything other than hard-boiled eggs or tofu costs an additional .75 cents per) and then a variety of veges and dried fruits and nuts and even croutons or other crunchy things. The concept is fun, fresh and pretty economical as most salads weigh in under $8. Loved the classic chopped with garbanzos, roasted chicken, salami and the surprising crunch of sunflower seeds. That one comes with a bland vinaigrette. Ask instead for the more zingy lemon dressing cousin. They will ask if you want the dressing light, regular, heavy or on the side. Go light. I loved chopped salad places and in LA, they always run around $9 a salad. That's typical, it's expected and for a decent salad, it's worth it! My first visit was today - 5-16-13 - and I got the cobb chop with beets and creamy chipotle dressing instead of the blue cheese. De-lish!! The chipotle has an awesome kick in it - but not too much. It's just enough for a nice zing on the taste buds. yes, parking can take a couple minutes as this is in a busy shopping center with a small parking lot. However, they do offer curbside pickup, so stop your whining yelpers. This is Encino. I'm not sure what all of you 1 star reviewers were expecting. Gourmet lettuce? Truffle oil perhaps? Love the concept but the food is meh. Their chicken lacks ANY flavor. Their salads (lettuce) is stale and something that comes in a ready pack at the supermarket. I can't really say much about the service since there isn't much of it. But on one occasions the guy who was making my salad got irritated with me when I asked for extra olives. Jeez. But the one other time they were sweet. So overall I didn't really care for the food and their service was meh. But its good if you want a quick salad and don't want to go to a restaurant. My prayers for quick and healthy delicious salads have been answered. For the longest time I wished that someone would come up with a 'fast-food' chain of sorts that had healthy and yummy offerings - especially in the salad department. To get a decent chopped salad these days, you normally have to go to a sit-down restaurant and do the waiting game - you just can't find a GOOD salad on every street corner, surprisingly. In comes Chop Stop, who I stumbled upon while driving through Encino one day. The sheer amount of options alone gives this place high-marks. And I've never had a salad here that hasn't been crisp, fresh, and tasty, almost as though I just chopped all the veggies myself. Service is always fast - the only thing that slows it up are patrons that take their time ordering because there are so many options to choose from. All the employees I've come across so far are quick and efficient. I probably visit Chop Stop at least once a week (or more) at this point - I've grown quite addicted. There are just so many combinations that I never get sick of it. And they keep adding ingredients to their menu, which is great - so glad for the Kale addition, and hoping they also add mixed greens at some point too. I just heard they opened up a Studio City location which is even closer to my home, and I was honestly quite overjoyed - that news literally made my day. Quite simply - There needs to be a Chop Stop in EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD. (I wont say every street corner for fear that it would turn into Subway). This place is like The Counter of salad spots. Sidenote - parking in this particular shopping center can be annoying during busy hours, and that's not Chop Stop's fault. The shopping center has a huge CVS and several other stores, so what do you expect. To make up for it, Chop Stop offers Curbside Service. Not only was delivery earlier than anticipated, but it was easily the best salad I've ever eaten. The portions were large and equitable to price. I ordered three salads (one build your own) and all the flavors were correct and perfectly balanced. The service accuracy is important especially since we ordered online. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of my meal and again I thought the prices were comparable to quality and sizing. I liked that my salad wasn't drenched in dressing or too dry!
