The meat without the sauce is bland. I try to limit my sugar so I had them cook both the beef and chicken without the sauce and it was dry and flavorless. The meat at Wabu is 10 times better. Also the service really needs some help. When I asked for a combo bowl without rice, substitute vegetables, they said they couldn't do that. At this point, this is where good help would offer an alternative rather than just look at you with a blank stare... I ended up ordering the Chicken salad with a side of beef and a side of Avocado. Food is good however I find their prices too high considering majority of the plate is filled with rice and salad. They do charge extra for brown rice. 2 plates cost $25. This place has some amazing teriyaki bowls. And at such a good price. I had the medium and they do not hold back on either the rice and chicken. I did fall for the avocado bait and went ahead and added it to my bowl. All I can salvis that if you have the money for it get it. But if you're like me and care about value, skip it. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because they do charge $1.60 extra for the avocado (even though it's included in their images = misleading) and "combo" doesn't mean it includes a drink. This is the best teriyaki spot in Pico. There aren't many but this one is #1. The chicken and beef is the best. I usually add avocado. They make these fried jalapenos with lemon pepper sprinkled on top, they are very spicy and delicious. The best part is that the jalapenos are complimentary. My kids love the chicken here and the fries. The fries are hot and crispy, we always get a large fries. They also have a teriyaki burrito, chicken or beef. Just make sure to order it without cheese. You can place a phone order which I highly recommend you do. It will be ready when you get there. I do feel that this restaurant is on the pricey side but the food IS good, so it is worth it.
