This is my go to spot in San Fernando / Sylmar for chinese fast food. I am a fan of China Express. But I feel ChopSpoon overtakes them in a slight edge in quality. I know they use no frozen green beans in the Black Pepper Chicken which is amazing. Whenever I call in to order a soup they have always been friendly and its waiting for me within 10min or less. Wonton Soup - Light, tasty. A bit heavy on the veggies but really good if you got a cold or want a light soup. Egg Drop Soup - Very light. Tasty and coincidentally not overly eggy. There is no meat in this soup just broth, egg ribbons and a frozen veggie mix but it works for this soup very well. Hot and Sour Soup - Delicious. I believe they use wood ear mushrooms in this soup. But this is quite flavorful and tasty. Jalapeno Chicken - Great dish. Savory, sweet and spicy. Id say the sauce its cooked in is a little sweet but it works. I wish they would cook the jalapeno a little more but this is a top dish here. This has zucchini, chicken, and jalapenos. Black Pepper Chicken - Amazing. My go to here. Fresh green beans, chicken in a peppery onion black sauce. Great flavors. Mushroom Chicken - Very light. Sauce is gravy like. Good amount of veggies in here in contrast to the chicken. But it works well especially over white rice or the rice noodles.

Orange Chicken - Not a fan. This is soggy. Kind of overly sweet. ChopSpoon is great too when there is an item that is low or looking kind of old. They will cook up a new batch within minutes.

Everything we've tried is good but the BBQ pork is always a favorite menu item. The staff is nice & friendly. We go there so often they pretty much know our order.

My new go-to Chinese spot. Used to go to Panda Wok but got tired of the poor customer service. Then started going to China Express but something changed there and it's not like it used to be. I've seen ChopSpoon on Yelp a bunch of times but never realized it's typical American Chinese food. Place itself is rather small but typical for mom n pops in Sylmar. Super clean, staff friendly. You may want to take your food to go though. Everything looked fresh and delicious. I ended up with the 2 entree meal, chow mien, orange chicken, and Kung Pao chicken. There was so much piled in the container that it lasted 2 meals and I'm a big guy with a big appetite especially for yummy Chinese.

Oh, and they have BBQ pork which is hard to come by these days. Highly recommend and I will be going back to try some of their other dishes and egg rolls.

5/5..well seasoned but not overly loaded with msg. I usually crash after eating low quality chinese food. Not here! For starters i love that they dont serve the lo mein as thats very unhealthy and pscked with chemicals. Instead the vermecill8 based noodles is a must. The prices are phenomenal! Im do happy that they support their communities with good prices. Also $1 /each for fried fish. Its a must have! Flakey/ soft/crunchy.

I love family owned restaurants! This Chinese food is delicious, really good flavors perfect for some comfort in the rain. They really pack your plate so you're getting your bang for your buck! They're fast at serving you as well! Overall great location.

I would have given this a 5 star if my food was really hot! I did get this delivered on DoorDash and it was an hour before closing. Next time I'll be coming in. Food Quality was delicious I've been looking for a good Chinese spot! The chow mein is delicious! Orange chicken is very flavorful and the portion is just right! I also got the veggie egg rolls! Those were bomb as well paired perfectly with the sweet and sour sauce. Side of beef and broccoli was not good the broccoli was good but the beef 2/10. I recently seen this place as I drove past it, and then noticed a video on Tik-Tok and then decided I need to give this a try! NO COMPLAINTS I definitely recommend this Chinese fast food spot! They give great portions and friendly service. I stop here for pick up or place an order on DoorDash for delivery! The Jalapeño Chicken is fire. If you like shrimp they have butter shrimp, and ask for sweet and sour to dip inside it's tasty! Give it a try!

Very disappointing! All of the items we selected were lukewarm. The chicken chow main listed on the menu was not available, so plain chow mean was substituted: it had very little taste. The cream cheese wontons were good but soggy on the bottom. We won't be repeat customers. read more

A girlfriend ordered on-line through BeyondMenu for pick-up. I picked up the order and paid cash. It turns out I was charged more than the price for the order shown on-line. I called BeyondMenu and complained. They said they'd look into it. They called back and gave me a lame song and dance about a "surcharge" for the BBQ Pork which was one of the things we ordered. Besides the bait and switch on the price, the food was mediocre. read more

The husband and i wanted to try a new Chinese place so we came here, the food is pretty good, nothing too exciting. We mostly came here so i could get my hot and sour soup which was amazing. Found my new go to. Honestly have never heard of it so my husband and I went to try it out and we were not disappointed. We thought it closed at 9:30, they close at 9 and we got there at 8:56. They still attended us and had made new fresh chow mein. Food tasted amazing & prices are affordable which is rare now a days. Seems like a family owned restaurant. Definitely will be going back. read more

Tried this place today. Got the pineapple chicken and BBQ pork in the 2 item combo. Good size portion of meat. Was happy to see pork. Most of the Chinese food places seem to have only chicken. It was very good. I will go back again. The lady was very nice too. read more

Bbq pork is bomb here, sucks that's it's a $1 extra but worth it in my opinion. I also had the jalapeño chicken, wow just wow. Best chicken dish I had in a while in a whole in the wall Chinese spot. Only negative I can say is that when I asked for some teriyaki sauce, not a lot just a little , the lady wanted to charge me extra . No thanks but the food is bomb highly recommended read more

I'm always open to new restaurants and fast food locations. I had gone yesterday to try out how good it was since my brother went. Let me tell you, it's pretty savory their beef broccoli beef is good compared to when you get beef who's texture is horrible. Serving sizes are great as well and their Boba Thai Tea A1. read more

Employees are real friendly.food was good.i liked the teriyaki chicken.my little boy liked the chow mien.my wife liked the orange chicken.not expensive at all.i personally think they should raise there prices a tad for the good food they serve.i recommend you try it people.if your in sylmar skip the non paying taxes non paying rent space tacos and go here to a good business paying there dues. read more

MSG so strong that I brushed 2x and still taste it : Veggie side soaked in grease. Otherwise food seemed to be prepared with care. If they were a little more health friendly, it would be a really good spot. Super fast delivery. read more

Delivery service was insufferable but I must admit that the food was quite good. The Won-Ton soup was excellent. However, I specifically ordered STEAMED rice with each of the two entrees and they sent a quart of fried rice. I don't eat fried rice and it ruined my meal as I kindly asked for extra sauce with each entree which they did provide. However, it was for naught since the sauce was to use with the steamed rice. Made a pot of steamed rice the next day and ate the entrees as leftovers. I actually gave the fried rice away to a neighbor so it didn't go to waste but I never received a receipt to review and don't have a clue what I was charged for. read more

I visit family in this area every year and thought i'd try out this place because of all the 5 star reviews. We bought 3 combos for myself and my parents. Food was dry, cold and flavorless. After reading some of the negative reviews. It's clear that this place bought and bribe for their 5 star reviews. Eater beware. These positive reviews are not honest. read more

I am very surprised by the positive reviews this place has received. I went there for lunch today with a few friends and the food was very mediocre. There is no reason to go back there. I got the two item combo with noodles and fried rice, both of which were nothing special. I had the mushroom chicken and the Japanese chicken, which were very fatty. Both of my friends had a similar disappointing experience. read more

Once we arrived, we found parking in the back, so I entered from there, mentioned my name, picked it up, and went home to enjoy it. The place itself looked a bit dated but was a cute little restaurant. I wouldn't mind eating inside the next time around. We ordered the cheese rangoon for our appetizer, I got the beef lomein for myself, and my boyfriend got the Kung Pao Chicken. It came with rice which was nice. The total was $45 with taxes, which was reasonable given the potion size and quality. It took us two days to finish it. All the food was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

When I politely asked to move tables to avoid nearby customers loudly using vulgar language, she came across as dismissive and rude (whether due to attitude or language barrier, the interaction was not handled well). I ultimately had to move myself just to enjoy my meal in peace. The only bright spot was our waiter, who was friendly and prompt. Unfortunately, one good staff member isn't enough to offset the overall experience. I won't be returning.

We order the crispy noodles, it tasted like it was old like sour taste... it doesn't taste the same as I expected so we didn't eat at all we didn't want complain to start a much worse conflict within the food. We notice the owner of the business was outside with a Maybach black Mercedes who is not CHINESE surprised that owner is Iranian. NOT TO BE RACIST but at least take care of the place.. Been coming here for Years and this new owner first time seeing him at the restaurant. The fact that this place has bad reviews and low ratings, Management sucks and food quality isn't the same as before. Sooner or later this place will close.

The Shanghai Dumplings are savory and the soy sauce is excellent. The Orange Chicken is really a must have. It's not your fast food or chain restaurant orange chicken, and at the same time, it didn't feel greasy or heavy. Just packed with sweet, orange flavor. The Zha Jiang Mian (Beijing black bean noodle) is quite interesting. It's not sweet, but not too salty or sour. It's savory with its sauce with a hint of the saltiness from the pork and tofu. I have to say though I thought the black bean sauce was more watery than I expected. It could be a little thicker, but it's a minor point.
