We enjoyed our sushi. My husband ordered Salmon Nigiri and an Alaskan roll. I ordered the vegetable roll and a tempura spicy tuna roll. We enjoyed the flavors. However there were some areas this place is lacking in. We ordered the grilled chicken and french fries for my 5 year old but it was beyond greasy. I instructed him to not eat it. We were only given one of the soy sauce plates and one of the sides had weird gunk stuck to it. When I went to dip one of my veggie roll pieces there was a weird plastic wrapping that was on the bottom. I didn't eat that piece. The prices were pretty reasonable but the portions were gigantic. I'm quite certain I've never had sushi rolls so big or filling before- I was very pleased and completely underestimated them. I ordered two and barely finished it. I had to recruit help from my friends! I ordered the dragon roll because I love eel and I really wanted to love this roll but unfortunately I didn't love, just liked. They used plenty of ingredients but I just didn't think the flavors meshed very well. My friends loved their rolls though, so I still totally recommend it! What the dragon roll lacked in flavor, the service made it so worth it and much more. The waitress was awesome and the owner was so sweet. For starters, they give you a complementary miso soup that was shocking, after browsing the menu which was vastly diversified, I ended up going with the beef pho. We went here with friends since they had liked it. We where having a hard time finding good sushi in Killeen for a while but Chopsticks is amazing! Their sushi has a lot or variety and the portion sizes are good. The fish always tastes fresh. I tried their ramen and it was very flavorful, there was some spice to it as well. The service is great when we go, I heard they were under new management recently. The servers are friendly and the food comes out fast. If they're busy it can be a wait, but it's sushi! BUT one thing you should maintain is being professional when you see a customer that has been waiting over 20 minutes it'll be nice to acknowledge a customers presence. Ok, I'm from LA and I probably eat my body weight in Sushi every month....I"ve eaten at so many different places all over the globe...many in LA, and this place seriously compares to the best of them! I don't know how this place is in Killeen, TX, but they had amazingly fresh sushi! What I was the most impressed by was their very unique variety of rolls- they had a lobster roll that was wonderful! And their servers were very attentive and friendly. We've gone to Austin several times, and we always eat sushi there, and honestly, this place had better sushi than anywhere we ate in Austin. My family & I sure miss California, when we move here, this was the first place we tried for sushi because we really like sushi. I am Vietnamese & I'm just gonna say the Pho (Vietnamese rice noodle soup) is expensive here & plain disgusting to me, they do not make it right & they use some weird meat for beef soup & it doesn't taste how a Vietnamese Pho suppose to taste. In Vietnamese alphabets, we use most alphabets like the American alphabets just minus a few that we don't use such as F, J, W, etc. Well the point is we also use accent symbols with our alphabets & the symbol they use on their restaurant to spell Pho is completely wrong. Koreans should not be trying to make Pho or Vietnamese Spring Rolls either, they use cheap imitation crab in the spring rolls! Sushi use to taste OK but since the owner left & left the business to his brother, & now it taste horrible. The baked lobster was overcooked, sushi rice doesn't taste right, & my 5 year old likes Teriyaki chicken & he can eat the whole thing up without complaining but this was the first time I heard him said this & this was his exact words when he took a bite, "mom, they didn't make this right!", they also actually forgot to make his food. For you guys who like real Vietnamese Pho & spring rolls, I suggest to go to "Pho Saigon" on Rancier Avenue, their prices are cheaper & their Pho is way better than this nasty place, Pho Saigon are own by Vietnamese & Vietnamese people actually makes it, not like these Koreans who tries to make it or rather hire Mexicans & teach them to make it. Why don't Korean cook their own food & stop trying to make Pho & Sushi? I know because Japanese food are yummy & Vietnamese food have more of a variety & it's healthier too. This is what happen, well service was never ever great, except for my husband being Korean so they always treated him decent up until they found out me being his wife who wasn't Korean, well anyways, the sushi rice tasted sour & all our rolls kept falling apart. My son got the short ribs & it's the only thing that taste decent. We are sushi gurus so I would suggest going to Wild Wasabi on E Veteran Memorial next to McDonald, the sushi are great & prices are cheaper than here, my favorite is the crazy monkey which is spicy tuna roll top with eel. Well, I did it. I didn't think I would, but I found sushi in Killeen that is worse than NAMI and Kiku, and that is saying a lot. Wife and I drove by the other night and as we had seen this place many times, we decided to try it. How can the Sushi Snob of Central Texas pass up a Sushi place? I truly wish I had found a way. The place was nice enough inside, a little old, a little shabby. The menus had seen better days as of last month, but the tables looked clean. There were handwritten signs all over the walls proclaiming that you could get 7 pieces of fried chicken for $6.99. The menu included Korean, Vietnamese and Japanese food. The first thing I ordered was a lemonade. Although the menu said they had beer, the waiter said they did not. Okay, I can live with that. What came out in the glass was thick and syrupy and nasty and undrinkable. I asked the waiter to take it away, and he did, but he left it on the bill. Next I decided to try the PHO as some reviews had said it was good. It was only fair. I got the seafood PHO, and there was so little seafood in it as to be laughable. 2 sticks of fake KRAB, and BAD fake KRAB at that. 4 little chunks of overcooked squid and 6 smallish shrimp. That shrimp was so mealy that it tasted like it was cooked in yesterdays laundry water. Instead of throwing almost cooked shrimp into the soup just before serving, it had sat in there for hours, but it tasted like days. The broth was watered down, but I will say there were plenty of noodles and they were not overcooked. On to the sushi-style stuff. I ordered the tempura squid roll, a California roll, a soft shell crab roll and assorted nigiri sushi. Wife asked for a spicy tuna roll and a California roll. They have a great system here. The chef makes horrible rolls and then covers everything (except the CA rolls) with spicy mayonnaise. Amazingly everything tastes just like spicy mayonnaise, imagine that! The spicyness of the sauce is almost enough to disguise the poor quality of the contents in the rolls. They do not keep the Nori (Seaweed paper) covered so it is chewy. Have you ever seen Curly from the three stooges try to eat an inner-tube burger? That is what the nori was like. I spit a few pieces out that had become like tar balls between my teeth. The tempura squid and soft shell crab roll pieces were too big to eat with your fingers or chopsticks. Yes, I know that "sushi" means fingerfood in Japanese, and silly americans insist on using chopsticks with it, but there was no-way Jose that you weren't going to end up with a mess. The soft shell crab had a mixed crab concoction filing it. Tasted like it was the cheap Thailand crab right out of the can. There were some unidentifiable pieces or lumps in there that may at one time have been either the tread off of a truck tire or an old soft shell crab, you will have to decide for your self. The taste? Well, it tasted like spicy mayonnaise mixed with wayyyyyy too much rice, paste, lumps, and chunks. The CA rolls were the only rolls not slathered with taste-bud-killing mayo. They went the cheap route and used the sesame seeds over rice on the outside rather than the more interesting masago or tobiko. One roll had 20 whole seeds on it, yes, 20, talk about sparing no expense! There was a small dab of KRAB mix that I think was the same stuff used in the soft shell crab roll, and 2 slices of cucumber in it; no gobo root, no avocado. In defense of the chef, it was substandard, cheap, and boring, but it WAS edible. I have saved the most horrifying experience for last. The nigiri sushi....... well, that is not really what it was, it was giant balls of overcooked sticky rice with a minuscule amount of seasoned rice vinegar in it. What was sitting on those monster balls of rice was rubbery pieces of old flesh from some poor sea creature that died of exposure. The tuna was a noxious shade of gray/pink that was brown around the edges, and I refused to put anywhere near my mouth. There was a piece of yellowtail that I picked off of the rice boulder and ate, tasted okay, little dry, but it didn't kill me. Actually, it had very little flavor. I saw something that may have been white tuna, but that is just a guess. It would not lay flat on the rice boulder. The other 3 pieces of fish were unidentifiable, I did not eat them. I looked at them, I sniffed them, but I sure as heck didn't taste them. Too bad I tasted that yellowtail, a box of Imodium and I had a date 2 days later because I did. Wife tasted her food cautiously. She is not a sushi snob, and is willing to eat things I won't, but she could not eat this. So, if you know anything about good sushi, stay out of here. If you value your taste buds, stomach or intestines, stay out of here.There are people out there that have no clue of how sushi should look taste or smell and they keep this place open. Everywhere has it's fans, and it is a blessing for Nami and Kiku that someplace in the area has worse sushi than they do! read more

I cannot speak for the Vietnamese food or the pho, but I have eaten my fair share of sushi all around this country and this sushi is sub-par at best. They use in recognizable fish that is just chopped to death, they use waaay too much rice and there is a weird lemony irony aftertaste that ruined what bites I did get down. Another thing I know if teriyaki chicken, this was by far one of the two worst teriyaki chicken dishes I ever had, the second worse was in an MRE in Iraq. The retaking chicken plate had a piece of rubbery chicken that tasted like eggs, dunno what that means, but I'm sure it ain't good. The vegetables that come on the side are traditionally a selection of onions, mushrooms, and zucchini or broccoli, the plate we were served had what can only be described as canned or possibly frozen peas and carrots, the kind your mom puts in her casserole. The place was small and dinky, played top 40 hits on the speakers and judge judy on the tv. I don't tend to judge a restaurant based on their atmosphere, I'd rather judge them for the food and to a lesser extent, their service. So regardless of how this placed looked or how nice the waiter was, the food (I tried) was terrible and in no way worth the $17 I paid for it (plus $5 tip- I always tip well). If you want sushi, real sushi, or teriyaki chicken, go somewhere else. Try Nami (review in the works) or wild wasabi, before they closed down :(, there is another good (decent) sushi place on Rancier near the gate, I think it's Korean food, like they serve kimchi with every meal, wait... It's called kimchi Hana or something like that. Anyways decent sushi and decent teriyaki chicken, but be sure to get the dinner portion not the lunch, they use a different piece of chicken and prepare it in a different way, the veggies are better too. Well we ended up sending the chopstick roll back because the crawfish was old, SUPER fishy and disgusting. The salmon wasn't fresh, the tuna in the roll wasn't fresh. The mango was slimey. All of it was pretty gross. The waitress was nice but we asked for wasabi and she brought us ginger instead and we never got our wasabi (I'm sure it was just a honest mistake but still). It didn't start out well when they came for our orders we tried asking questions and he just took it as we were ordering those things and walked away without ever answering us. The sushi rolls are very large so we were excited when our food arrived, however each roll instantly fell apart they were not rolled properly. Also it had to have been the worst sushi I have ever tasted, and I've eaten buffet sushi many times, with each bite we took it tasted worse. We just ended up with tons of leftovers no one wanted to eat. I also had salmon that was room temperature and tasted like it had been sitting out too long.
