I order egg rolls which came out with a sauce packet and tasted like Panda Express egg rolls. Only sushi that was decent to get had crawfish bits in it which was delicious. I was really surprised and happy with the food here, everything we got was very good and the portions were big. The veg tempura was light and crispy, the sushi had a fresh taste, the teriyaki was sweet and thick. The only bad part of the meal was the sake which was overpriced and very strong. I also asked that it be served hot and it was cool when I received it which was a big disappointment. The service was only ok, the waitress as friendly but seemed like she was trying to rush us out. She brought our tempura appetizer and before we had eaten two peices she brought all of our meals at once so that we had to awkwardly shuffle plates around on the table and the moment I'd picked up the last bite of food she came to take away the plates. So I'm in Killeen, looking for decent sushi. I've had world-class sushi in several restaurants, and didn't expect to find anything incredible here. In this case, I was correct. The menu has a Chef's Special Roll (changes daily) - $16. I asked the waitress what today's special was. She said it was up to the sushi chef. I asked her to ask him. The manager approached my table at this point and told me that they don't have a daily roll, the chef just makes whatever he feels like at the time, and will take your preferences under advisement. Being my first visit, and unsure of the quality of the fish I was to be served, I opted not to place myself in the chef's hands at this point, and to order a spicy tuna roll ($8) and a "tuna lover's" roll ($15. spicy tuna, tuna, white tuna, honey wasabi, etc.). The rolls came out in about 10 minutes. I was pleased at this point. The presentation was nice. The fish was cut extremely thin, and looked to be dried out significantly. Furthermore, the fish was not cut correctly with relationship to the grain of the meat, which resulted in a few pieces of tuna that were a bit chewy. This was confirmed later when I examined the case at the bar while paying for my meal. The filets were open in the cooler, dry around the edges, and they were not wrapped tightly in plastic as I've seen before. I imagine if they had enough turnover it wouldn't be a problem, but some of the fish looked to have been aging for a few days. The honey wasabi sauce was tasty, but there was so much of it on my roll that I was eating honey tuna. And it made the fish appear a sickly grey color, instead of the rich pink or red I'm accustomed to. Summary: The sushi was passable, but only just. I've had far better product for less. (Ichiban in Davenport, IA of all places) After drinking water, tax, and a $5 tip, I had consumed a $30 lunch, and felt a small pang of regret that I hadn't gone to the Asian Buffet down the road. There, I could have spent half the money, gotten spicy tuna and a rainbow roll that were far more satisfying, and had a pick of anything else on the buffet. I probably won't be returning unless more improvements are made. The Starbucks next door was doing more business at lunchtime. That should have been a clue, I suppose. read more

I've ate here twice mainly for the sushi. The sushi here is okay and the price for a sushi roll is between $7-12. I enjoyed the complimentary miso soup and salad. I made the mistake to order the bi bam bap. This is definitely an American version of bi bim bap. (I'm even more disappointed that the Korean owner failed to make this Korean dish.) I was grossed out that a bug ran across our table. I was totally disgusted. I should have left after this incident. I will probably not come back unless I want cheap sushi close to home. read more

They keep your drinks full, make great small talk & the food it decently priced & delicious. Was visiting for Work and stopped by this place with some colleagues. Should've looked at yelp first since it was not a good meal. Food was so so. I had the pork bento box. Pork was flavorless and mediocre at best. Salad was so so. Rice was very dry and hard. Sushi was terrible. Rice to filling ratio was off with rice being overloaded. I agree with other reviews when it came to quality of food. Probably not as fresh as it should be. Two stars are for our waitress Jordan. She was very friendly and attentive. I like to keep it simple I usually order Dol sot bibimbap, and salmon nigiri, My experience here is educational and yummy. The salmon on rice sushi, they said it's called nigiri which means fish on a bed of rice, Was so amazing it keeps me coming back every time! The bibimbap is the best in Killeen, and I've tried others. The price is well worth the freshness of the food and the friendliness of the staff. As far as the staff, well it's the same two ladies most of the time, which leads me to believe that they are happy and stay working there. My mama always warned me about fusion restaurants claiming to be the jack of all trades; pick one thing and do it well she always said. Chopsticks offers sushi, pho, and an assortment of Korean and Japanese dishes. I went there strictly for sushi, but my husband isn't a fan and opted for the pork yakisoba. I went with tuna and yellowfin nigiri, and one of the salmon rolls containing shrimp tempura, spicy salmon, and raw salmon on top. The pork yakisoba looked sad and all one brown color, and wasn't prepared with the thicker yellow noodles I'm used to but with thinner noodles similar to the size found in instant ramen. I didn't try any but my husband said it tasted like yakisoba that would be served mid-flight. The sushi rice was bland. It needed more rice vinegar and sugar, it actually didn't taste seasoned at all. Nigiri is my favorite so rice is a crucial component. A few pieces of my roll were loosely rolled, and the spicy mayo didn't have enough sriracha and tasted like straight up mayonnaise. I had to scrape it off. Total bill came up to roughly $40, will not return because the sushi was not good enough to deter me from HEB sushi at a fraction of the cost. I just moved to this area from Seattle (plenty of good sushi spots, very ethnically diverse area, am an Asian-American myself) and have traveled to Japan and Korea, so I'm no stranger to good Asian food. I'm really glad that I gave it another chance, the restaurant is under new management and our food and service was awesome! The sushi chef did a really good job, we ordered 3 different kinda rolls and some sashimi.. The sushi was to die for but the way the cooks talk to their servers I don't know how they work there. If the two ladies were the owners they are rude as hell. The female server was as sweet as can be but the male was horrible. Now I ordered shrimp fry rice and Sesame chicken. the sesame chicken taste like fresh chicken like it was never season or clean it was horrible. Small little nice place good environment, music is dub step in my opinion it's good, it should turned down slightly, I got the Shin Ramen; presentation looked like curry but tastes well. My friend got the Beef Pho combo; combo just has the normal stuff you'd get from Pho Saigon, good presentation and delicious. Other than food the waitress was nice checking on us every time we passed, we went an hour before closing and it was calm and nice. I just ordered takeout tonight and I ordered the spicy Army tempura roll because I've had it many times before and this time it was completely different than any of the other times. The rolls were bigger and the flavor was just completely off. None of it seemed balanced. Like there was too much of the tuna which overpowered everything else, it was over-cooked to where the edges were extremely hard. Even the sauce on top seemed different. They do have kitchen masks as well Syu feel free to show up when you want something savoury. This time I came and decided to try something new. Had no clue what I was getting.
