I want to love this place. It's everything I want it to be in a salad Mecca. But it's overwhelming! Like really overwhelming - for me at least. So many options. For example you have the choice of 9 different greens to start. My suggestion would be to get one of their salads that is on their menu rather than making your own version the first time around. This will prevent you from making a $16 salad like I did. I got arugula, shrimp, goat cheese, beets, and sliced almonds chopped with olive oil and lemon. It was healthy and completely fresh and worth it, but I would probably come again and order a salad that's on the menu. I'd like to try a few of their dressings as well. They are all home made. If you have a nut allergy - no worries because the nuts come in little plastic containers sealed and are handed to you for you to incorporate rather than them chopping them in the salad. I see the option for soup on the menu but no where in the restaurant did I see what soups they had. They have a giant board showing where everything is locally sourced from and also for all the dressing choices (about 20!) but no soup board. Today was the best day for it, didn't think to ask until after I read it on the menu sitting down eating my salad. Also - no sodas. That's ok with me. But the lemonade was just ok. Order: Saigon Chicken Bánh Mì bowl This place has a very good business concept for self build salads/wraps and menu-ready ones. For the menu-ready ones, you just state the name of the dish and they start tossing the ingredients into a bowl. For the self build ones, you select the type of salad green you want as the base (kale, spinach, lettuce, etc) and then pick 4 toppings (not including the premium ones like meats, avocado, tofu and falafel) to add in. They fill the bowl to the top and then some and just as you start to wonder "how the heck am I going to mix in the dressing, they give it to another person dumps the bowl onto a cutting board and uses an arc cutter to chop(t) it all up and mix it together. Then it's all dumped into a huge mixing bowl and your dressing is thrown in and mixed. This is where you'll want to ask for a taste of any dressings you're curious about trying. It's then all dumped into a serving bowl and a slice of bread stuck in it and off you go! The dining area is very spacious with tables/chairs and booths spaced nicely apart. It seems to be kept very clean even at the drink self serve area. The Saigon Chicken Bánh Mì salad was tasty but I think with all the base salad in it, you lose the chicken. I think the next time putting the meal in a wrap may help with that. They have a very nice selection of toppings and salad base to choose from and it tastes fresh. The service was excellent! Everyone explained everything, and all with a smile! You didn't feel rushed (other than the line standing behind you :-) ) and as mentioned before, they even offered taste samplings of dressings. I would highly recommend it if you love salad made your way, or just like the adventure of trying one on the menu. And try their "Destination Menu" which has a targeted taste based on destination that changes every 60 days. read more

I ordered a Kebab Cobb salad (with chicken) for lunch today through curbside pick. Ordering online was so easy and my order was complete early!! I was able to select my salad and make modifications as needed with no issues. The salad itself was comprised of delicious, fresh ingredients. The salad - dressing ratio was perfect. It tasted amazing!! I always cringe at the price of these salads, but it was definitely worth it today, and it's ok to treat myself occassionally. I'm looking forward to my next salad here. read more

We came here for a lunch and it was really good. The service was prompt and very friendly. We ordered the Asian crunch salad and the Chinese chicken bowl with cauliflower rice. They make it fresh to order, you can pick and choose what goes in it, and it was very tasty. I would definitely come here again for a quick lunch. read more

We were stopping for takeout pizza near here so we decided to get a salad to share. Instead of getting a generic salad from the pizza place we decided to stop at Chopt. We had driven by a couple of days before and my beau mentioned that he wanted to check them out. We got a Mexicali Vegan Salad and subbed roasted chickpeas for the jalapenos. The employee that served us was super nice. The restaurant itself was also very nice. You go up to the counter and it's kind of like a Subway Sandwich setup. Because we were splitting the salad our service provider was nice enough to dress and package them separately. The salad itself was OK. Nothing to write home about. I got buttermilk ranch on mine, Dan got a spicy ranch (chipotle maybe?) The dressing was OK, but again, nothing fantastic. I can't say that we would go in again, but it wasn't bad. read more

Part of what makes a great salad is: Varied Textures, Fresh herbs and fresh fruits or veggies and an Amazing dressing that is so good, the salad isn't required to be swamped. Chopt pretty much minces all ingredients and tries to sell it on their horrible dressings which goes on like icing on a cake. There is so little texture that a spoon would be the best option to eat the salad. As for the meat, well, I didn't really see any even though it was included - probably because the chicken was chopped so small and the dressing overwhelmed every part of the salad. if you have 12 bucks to spend on a lunch salad, i'd recommend poppyseeds off strickland or Wendy's, yes wendy's, they actually make a great salad for about 6 bucks with all the right ingredients that make a great salad. read more

I've come here a few times and this last time was most definitely super disappointing. From the service being lackluster, to my food being inetible. I got the Korean BBQ bowl. The rice on the bottom had so many undercooked raw pieces of rice I nearly chipped my tooth. Not only that, but once I had mixed it around when I got home it was too difficult to find them as it was so unpleasant to eat I ended up tossing it. Tons and tons of choices of veggies, cheeses, toppings and dressings. It comes with a slice of bread but you can always purchase additional things like chips or a cookie. Beverages are available but they are on the healthier side, think sparkling waters, so don't expect the typical fountain with cola products. The flavor was amazing and the ambiance of the location is very relaxed and simplistic. The staff was helpful and answered our questions. The only thing they could have done better was guiding us through the process of building our meal. We came for the first time and had no idea how things worked so it was weird to come in without the staff really making an effort to guide us. The other thing is that was a little bit of a downer was that the additional toppings were .79 each which is a little expensive in comparison to some other similar restaurants. Had lunch at this place today. I enjoyed the salad and it was easy to eat to make up for the time spent in line but the wife did not like it, she said you may as well throw everything in a food processor, the whole thing tastes the same, you can't individually enjoy the bite to a slice of tomato or avocado, it is all mixed in and the avocado gets lost in the crowd. I am always in a hurry and this system facilitated my chewing and in her case it is the opposite. Most likely she wont return and that also means I won't be going back either even if it was ok for me. A little bit of a bottleneck at the chopping station. read more

If you love salads like I do, you need to try Chopt! They have so many options to choose from and so you will definitely find one you'll like, as well as craft your own options. I get the Smoky Santa Cruz and it's delicious. The dressing it comes with has a little kick if you like it a little spicy, but not overpowering. Their salads always taste fresh and I love the broadness of the ingredients. These are high quality salads!! The portion sizes are great for salads as most places are skimpy in that category. You will get full! They even have a kids menu which is great to get them eating healthy with toppings that they would love. Not only is the food amazing but the decor of the interior is beautiful. It's so colorful, bright and airy. This place is definitely my go to for a hearty and healthy lunch or dinner. I have been here twice in one week and will definitely be here again! read more

I love salad, so of course I think this place is amazing! But if you don't like salad or expect anything other than salad, this place is not for you. Fresh ingredients, good service, chill atmosphere if you want to eat in. They are busy during lunch hours of course so plan for that if you need to. If you aren't sure what to get, create your own for starters so you know you'll like what you get ;) They give you plenty too, I always have left overs and eat it later in the day. read more

Update: Someone from Chopt reached out to me and sent me a voucher for a free salad since I wasn't 100% satisfied last time. This time I asked for my salad to be tossed, not chopped, and the texture was much improved. Also I got the basil mint vinaigrette which was AAAMAZINGGGG. However, I still leave my review at 3 stars because there were several huge chunks of I'm assuming romaine core in the salad? I know that it was my choice not to have the salad chopped, but I still wouldn't want chunks of lettuce core in my salad. That being said, I probably will go back again and try a different variety of lettuce with that dressing because it was just that good! Came here for lunch midweek. I was really impressed with how fresh all the ingredients looked. Service is kind of an odd setup - you order your salad and select your ingredients first, kind of like Subway, then you pay, then someone chops up your salad for you. Expect to be moved along very quickly, so you'd better already know what you want. (It's kind of overwhelming the first time there.) Setting all of that aside, given the fact i had never been there before - I still give it 3 stars. Although the ingredients were fresh, the salad was chopped so much that everything became one texture. To me, a good salad has a variety of textures, and even though I selected ingredients with different textures, everything became kind of one note after the salad was chopped. I suppose if I ever went back I could just request the salad be tossed and not chopped, but then I'd just be paying $10 for a salad that's not that special. I'm totally on-board with paying for a great meal at a restaurant, but only if I feel like it's something I couldn't do myself. I didn't love it. There are way too many choices and combinations on the menu. That makes people move very slowly. The staff has to build everything, mix everything, chop everything, move it from a bowl to a board, to another bowl.... It's a lot of handling the food. They try to be very helpful, and there are a lot of staff people; most of them looking for someone to help. Then, there are the prices. Did it really cost $6 for less than a cup of soup? Really? The avocado is consistently bad - not just somewhat brown because it's been sitting out but actually rotten. They barely add any of the toppings, and I can't even find any cheese or carrots this time. My husband's salad had three small chunks of chicken. I came back... I have been eating here since they opened... A couple bad experiences but usually OK. They are going downhill. This started before Covid. When they stopped chopping on the spot I noticed a lack of freshness and quality. I consistently ask for my avocado chopped and for extra dressing and have never actually got my avocado chopped. I received a salad so dry I honestly feel like they are messing with me. Leaves are often wilted. I have received a salad with hair in it and just can't go back. She doesn't mind preparing your salad the way YOU want it instI've seen her be very patient and helpful to new customers. She is also understanding with original customers who are having difficulty with the seemingly continuous changes to the menu and salad making process.
