Interesting blend of Chinese and Country cooking. A lot of the main dishes are fried. A lot of the main dishes are chicken. The service was fast and efficient. There is a broad array of salad, soup, bread, desserts, and main courses at an excellent price.

If you plan to go on a special event day like Mother's Day or Father's Day, be prepared to wait til you are called to get a table for your group. It can get crowded, you will have to let them know your name when you walk in if there's a wait time. The buffet has a lot of food items and various dishes. It is a huge buffet area. The steaks were overcooked. The fish and seafood dishes were okay. The Asian dishes were good. Be prepared to go look for plates and utensils because a lot of the plate areas and spoons needed to be refilled. I had to walk around to look for soup bowls. I was disappointed when I seen that were some flying gnats/bugs around the salad bar area. The restrooms needed to be attended to and cleaned when we were there. I had to help with my disabled family member in the restroom and two of the stalls had trash and toilet paper overflowing on the ground and one of the restroom doors couldn't close all the way. Overall, my family group enjoyed the variety of food choices.

This is my first time here. You wait at the Hostess desk and she will seat you. At the end the Waitress will bring you your check. All went well. The food was very good. I tried a small amount of salad, fruits, shrimp, pot roast, and dessert. I opted for water. Today was holiday fee for dining $16.99. They gave me a senior discount of $1.00. I like that. The food items were very good, except I did not care for the egg roll. The line for the steak was too long, so I skipped it. I did go back for steak, but the cook for the steak might of gone on break. I left happy. Pros: food was a good temperature and taste. Waitress was very good. Cons:egg rolls did not taste good. Recommend? Yes

Arrived hungry and left this great buffet establishment fully satisfied and ready for a power nap! Hostess is friendly and professional along with the management team and staff. One of my fav waitresses named "Gigi" was working during my visit and helped make my dining experience a comfortable and relaxing one with her hospitality. My fave time is to arrive during the first half hour of their opening time for lunch. Food, service and ambiance is great for a wonderful lunch buffet meal!

For the price, I can't complain. It is very nice and clean in here for a cheap buffet! My favorites were the sesame chicken, the plantains, and desserts! Some of the food items were not good, but that's expected. Mac and cheese and orange chicken were awful, but that's fine. Good place for a cheap meal and they had some really yummy things!

Update March 2024 Went again today to see if I just happened to stop by on an off day. The table staff continues to be good but it's not getting better with the food and cleanliness. * Table was dirty and I was the first customer at that table. * Hot food - I had several items from the hot bar. None of them were hot - most were only warm. Not sure they would have passed a health inspection that day.

Rib ,steak , orange chicken w fried rice , pot roasts with potato's green beens and collards

Okay.. picture this. American Buffet and Chinese Buffet met at a Buffet Club. Things gets hot & heavy between them and they got jiggy with it. 9 months later, the couple had an interBuffet baby. Out comes to the world... Chow's Country Buffet. For me, in layman's terms, Chow's Country Buffet is a mixture of Golden Corral and Chinese Buffet. Nice ambiance, it's AYCE folks so do not expect a fine dining type setting. Get your hands dirty and eat the F up. The Good: - I loved almost everything they served. - The service was great. - Their Dinner Rolls are equivalent to that of Texas Roadhouse. The Bad: - They do not offer Crawfish. I really enjoyed this place would come back again. At $11.49 for lunch (Mon-Fri) and $15.99 for dinner (Sat/Sun). I AM SOLD. Salad Bar, Desserts and all other food selections were great. My biggest tip, it's AYCE so start with very small portions so you can get at least a taste of all of what they have to offer. .... and... wear stretchy pants !!!

We visited on a Friday for lunch, and the dining room was about 40% full--comfortable, not crowded, and easy to enjoy. ** Pros ** * Atmosphere: -- The space is surprisingly nice for a buffet. Two walls feature projected moving murals, and another showcases a large mountain scene. It creates a relaxing, modern vibe. * Food Quality: -- Everything we sampled--and we sampled a lot in small portions--was consistently good. -- Temperatures were spot‑on: soups were hot, desserts were properly chilled. -- Flavors were on par with other Asian buffets in Jacksonville, and in some cases better. -- The hibachi station is on the smaller side, offering two meats and a handful of vegetables. It's possible they expand options at dinner. -- Sushi selection was solid, with all the standard rolls you'd expect. -- The pork bun was the best I've had in town. It was light and had a great taste. * Value: At around $14 per person for lunch, we felt the price matched the quality and variety offered. ** Cons ** * Limited Variety: The overall assortment isn't as large as some of the newer buffets that have opened in the past year. Maybe the assortment is a bit larger at dinner or on the weekends. ** Overall ** We felt the visit was worth the drive from the Southside, and we'd happily stop by again when we're in the area.

Fresh sushi, seafood, hot bar favorites and plenty of comfort picks stacked across the buffet. The variety is honestly impressive, so whether you're in the mood for sushi rolls, crispy fried bites or classic buffet plates, you'll find your lane fast. Service was attentive and quick to clear plates, which is key when you're making multiple rounds (and yes... you will). It's also a great family option. Tons of choices for kids and picky eaters, so everyone leaves happy. Solid buffet experience with something for every appetite.

They have many options to choose from in terms of different meats, greens, sushi, desserts, noodles, and more. How it works is you choose the soup of choice to cook the things on and then you go up and fill your place with what you want to cook. You can add things to the soup or on the hot pot to cook. They also have sushi and dumplings already made to eat. I've tried the traditional soup and the tom yum I believe it's called. I like the tom yum better because it has more flavor. You are cooking your own stuff so make sure it's done lol! Both servers both times were nice and attentive in changing out the stove you cook on and taking your dirty plates. Cool experience for sure!

We decided upon this place based on reviews, including from all our oldest grandchild, who said that he had been taken here and everyone enjoyed it. we knew it had previously been a Japanese/Asian grill for many years, but now it is a Korean style barbecue and hot pot.m, so we stopped in. first be aware that this is not a cheap meal, it was $37 per adult. that said, you get access to a variety of proteins and options. I will also say that my experience was quite a bit different than that of my wife. to start, you get one type of flavored broth for your hot pot in which to cook proteins or vegetables. The table also comes with a built-in grill if you choose to Cook that way. My wife selected the mushroom broth base and I chose the pork broth base. I must say, my wife added her own spices/sauces and enjoyed her broth so much that she shared with me and it greatly enhanced my experience. We enjoyed it so much so that we took the remainder home - there was a by weight up charge for taking this or anything else home. initially I felt that was a little expensive ($5) for taking home What amounted to 2 cups of broth, but we made Ramen out of the next day and it was the best Ramen I've had in a long time, so kudos to my wife for having seasoned it so well. my pork broth was not very flavorful, but I was being lazy and did not add any sauces to it, so I was disappointed, but frankly that is probably on me. In the middle of the restaurant is a very clean and well stocked protein buffet that has all types of seafood, pork, chicken, and beef offerings. I selected many of these, and went directly to the grill instead of cooking some of them in the hot pot. i ended up over cooking several of them before adding them into my hot pot, and they weren't good, but once again my disappointment is in part due to my impatience or inattentiveness. my wife enjoyed her selections very much because she didn't overcook her proteins. my favorite thing was the beef Bulgogi and Korean short ribs, which I grilled (or my wife did) and these were delicious, marinated in an excellent sauce and I frankly could've and should've probably just eaten several plates of this. they had a sushi/dessert bar with typical fare; my wife did not partake in any of this. I tried several of the sushi rolls and they were OK -- frankly this is probably not what you would gravitate to if you're going to a hot pot/Korean barbecue restaurant. their desert offerings were fine: I enjoyed the tiramisu and the Asian style donuts, which were very doughy, but I love them. My wife thought they were just meh. they were alcoholic options, but we were already going to be at $90 with tip and take home broth so we just had waters. I apologize for forgetting the servers name, but his service was excellent, due to attentiveness, explanation of the options, and making sure our drinks were consistently refilled. The ambience was nice, modern, clean. so my take away is that this would be closer to a 3.5 star review versus a four, as this was expensive and everything that I tried other than the grilled Bulgogi and what my wife shared that she had added to her broth) was just OK. However, my wife enjoyed the meal so much, that alone is worth it. Also, I should attribute some of the "disappointment" to my own laziness or overcooking of the proteins on the grill. I would go back for another special occasion, but at the price point, it would not be a weekly choice.
