Enjoyed the atmosphere celebrating my son's birthday. The buffet spread had plenty of options cold and hot. Loved the chicken skewers on sticks, fried plantains and steamed greens beans. The restaurant offered plenty of seating. Shawn was a great server checking to see if we needed anything often and friendly. My family loved the crawfish, crabs and sushi. Everything was tasty, hot, & fresh. The sushi is always my first plate along with a plantain. Second plate will be the buffet food. My faves are the spinach casserole w/cheese, and the green beans. I was craving some classic Chinese buffet food and came here on a Saturday evening to check it out. Honestly glad I did! There is your usual Chinese buffet fare (black pepper chicken, green beans, broccoli beef, etc) as well as a number of seafood items for dinner (crab, mussels, frog legs, jumbo shrimp). The area is spacious and they will take your plates and refill your drinks. The surprise of the evening was the hibachi, which I thoroughly enjoyed! I'm not a big hibachi girl but thought that the beef, pork, shrimp, and veggies were really great. I also liked getting to choose my own sauces and the garlic oil was a very nice addition. This place needs a remodel! The forks are bent, carpet is filthy. I pulled out 3 dirty bowls and 3 dirty plates at the buffet. Yhe chairs and booths are all ripped up. No hand sanitizer in sight. Reasonably clean and definitely a wide variety of options here. I know that there are picky eaters who don't like "Chinese food" even if it is very Americanized as it is here, which means they have mac & cheese, garlic bread, hot wings and fries. But in addition to that, many different Americanized Chinese choices from beef & broccoli, ribs, baked krab with cheese, chicken on a stick and more. The sushi and sashimi line was really nice with many different options that all looked and tasted fresh. I was very pleased. This place has stood the test of time. Many years ago they were on the other side of the same shopping center. In just a couple of years they outgrew it and moved to the current location. Many other chinese buffets have opened reallly close to them, with more options and better food but they never made it. China buffet never tried to compete just continued to provide the same consistency they always had. THere are 3 hot bars, a salad and cold item bar, sushi bar and a hibachi. With that much variety you are bound to find something you don't like but I have never had anything I would call particularly bad. My favorite items are the egg foo yung and the bok choy. They have removed the bok choy and replaced it with regular cabbage but there are enough other things that I am still happy. It is always clean considering the amount of volume they have and some of the staff seems to be dedicated to keeping the bars clean and stocked. Many buffets wash plates but do not check them so you often find food still on the plates. I do not experience this often so I think they do a pretty good job keeping the kitchen clean. The restrooms are usually stocked OK but tidiness is not a priority. Most of the restraunt is clean but the bathrooms are dirty and dated. There was a change in ownership at some point in the last couple of years and the new owners don't seem to have the same standards as the old, but still the best chinese buffet I have been to in Jacksonville. read more

We wanted a buffet so we decided to come here. They sat us immediately and got so many different plates. Some food was eh and room temperature but others were very good and fresh tasting. The ladies here are extremely rude. If you have kids, just expect to be treated poorly. As soon as we walked in the door we were being yelled at, there was 6 of us and we got sat at a 4 top booth. The lady got our drinks and slammed them on the table and then continued to talk shit about us in her language the whole time we were trying to enjoy our food. I'm so disappointed. Pre-pandemic, I frequently went to this establishment. Today, I just happened to be nearby shopping at Party City and decided to have an early lunch. I checked Yelp only because I wanted to know if things had turned for the worse. The rating was mediocre, yet I still gave it a try. (sigh) The food was, eh, okay. But service is definitely not good. Too much to write about here. But the most disappointing thing was they do NOT honor the Yelp 10% discount. It's one thing to say, we don't honor that. As a disabled person with a none visible disability and a vested service dog the lack of regard and knowledge of ADA laws by staff is appalling. I would not recommend this place to any disabled person especially if you have a service dog. I have been here many times with my SD and despite repeatedly showing them the ADA website and information around Service dogs they refuse to educate either themselves or their staff. They keep asking for documentation for my dog when they cannot ask for that by Federal Law, even after being shown ADA website stating this. They have been reported for breaching ADA law in regards to this as I am sick of uneducated people who refuse to learn the laws. read more

Good place to get a lunch. The Buffay is only $12. It's incredible what's available at the Buffay. All types of Chinese food eggrolls even stirfry loads of vegetables and cut fruit sushi shrimp seaweed, cut ginger, even desserts, and ice cream. You name it whatever you're hungry for they have it and add a very reasonable price. This service is very good and it's very family oriented. Once you become a regular they know you by name. I like the little hole in the wall restaurants the best reminds me of my time in Hawaii. read more

This is one of the only Chinese buffets I will eat at in the Jacksonville area. There are tons of choices on the buffet. If you've ever been to any Chinese buffet, I'm sure you'll be familiar with them all. I really like their honey chicken and their seseeme chicken. They have good fried rice and lo mein as well. Love their won ton soup. It's some of my favourite in the jax area. Out of all the offerings on the buffet, those are the main things I eat. I'm pretty simple that way and I don't like change. No matter the time of day, even during the slow times, the food on the buffet is hot and fresh. They keep it replenished often and keep the area clean. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating. Waitress are ok. They take your drink order and bring it to you. Most of the time, they are good about keeping the glasses refilled. They do have crab legs on the buffet which you can have for a few dollars more. I've personally never tried them. If I'm going to have crab legs, I'm going to a seafood place where I know they are fresh. After all, we do live on the ocean and there are much better places to get crab legs. Overall, I have no complaints about this China Buffet. I've been eating here for many, many years. Probably since around 2000. This use to be one of my daughters' favourite places to go when they were growing up, so it holds a few fond memories. I'll never forget the time my youngest (when she was around 8) was reading the Chinese Zodiac and asked me very, very loudly, "Mommy, what's a cock?" I used to go to this place when I was a kid all the time and I stopped going for a whole but idk if it's Covid or just time passing but I remember it being super packed and the food being hot. Now the food seems a lot less in quantity and quality... it's really a hit or miss with this place though nowadays. The food is warm but not the good warm. Not a fan of this one, I've had better. Walking in it seems to be pretty packed. 12.99 for Sundays. Food looks mostly fresh when we walked in. But when looking closer.. even the green beans looked shriveled like when it usually looks when it's towards the tail end of the pan. I noticed the Chinese hot mustard to be really watered down, very runny. The rolled sushi if you look close the color of the fish that was used is off-colored. It was brownish which means it's on its way to being tossed into the trash. No sashimi should be discolored even when rolling it with rice. Egg foo young had NO taste and one side is burnt while the other side looked fine. The gravy that is to be used on it was old, the top was crusted. They did have sashimi salmon and tuna but it was on the slimy side when I tried some. Boneless bbq also had no taste. BBQ ribs were extremely dry. Baked salmon was drowning in its tasteless sauce. The selection of their sushi is very limited. If you still want to go there please make sure to take a good look at the raw fish before consuming. If it's discolored or slimy avoid for your own health safety. Needless to say we won't be going back, there are other Chinese buffets that is much better with taste. read more

Food was very good. Great selection for a Chinese buffet, including sushi that was very good and made to order Mongolian BBQ that was great. I sampled about 15 different dishes and my only negative was that my chicken teriyaki skewer was a little dry. Panko covered shrimp was some of the best shrimp I have ever had. Service was very attentive for a buffet, and the physical setup is good - lots of seating and space between tables. And finally, at $14.50 for dinner during the week this is a great deal for food this good. We will definitely be back. read more

I'd given up Chinese buffets on the count of I feel like I don't get my money's worth for an all you can eat challenge. Little did I realize that I was entering this contest the wrong way. I needed to go with a completely empty stomach and I did so after catching a movie at AMC. Mom and I hadn't been to this restaurant in ages and since we feeling nostalgic, we decided to head over. Not much has changed on the inside as you can tell from the photos of China on the walls that are now faded, but the food was just as good as I remembered with a couple of items I hadn't had there before. For example, the Seafood delight which was shrimp, calamari rings, and squid. I couldn't resist and got a big ol' helping of that. Mom pointed out that they had frog legs as well. I've had them before but had forgotten what they were like. I got one, bit into it and then I remembered that I did like it. It's like a cross between chicken and fish and they were fried just right so that it wasn't oily and you didn't but into a mouthful of breading. They also had another favorite dish of mine, Octopus, but fried. I could taste the oil in it and it tasted like the same oil they fry all their seafood in. I still ate it while also scarfing down the cheesy spinach. I think that's a staple on every chinese buffet. All in all, it was a good meal and I'm glad we went. Will definitely we back. read more

Most of the food was not a good recipe. I published a review in 2011... Was hoping the place would have changed, but still the same. The weirdest thing was how some of the wings in a sauce (wasn't sure if they were considered buffalo wings), and the fried breaded wings, still had feathers in a lot of them.
