    Spicy ramen with chicken
    Alia S.

My boyfriend lives in Lompoc part time and we are exploring new food places... he's been here before but this was my first time. Fantastic! Both of us love Asian food. Especially spicy! We shared spicy garlic edamame, spicy kimchi fried rice and calamari.... Both had miso soup, he had the spicy chicken bowl and I had spicy chicken Ramen. No, I wasn't kidding about the spicy part! Lol. Yes, we ordered enough food for five people. No, we did not finish it all! Yes, we did have a second serving at midnight while watching movies! The food here is fantastic. Service was great. They close a little early, at 8:30 on a Friday.... But I think everywhere in Lompoc does. There was only one other table with people eating when we got there at almost 8. It did seem like they were doing a lot of business on to go orders. But if you have not been here, I highly suggest you go try it. They have a large enough menu with options for everyone. Very cute inside. Our waitress was very helpful and so sweet. We met the owner briefly who was equally pleasant. We will definitely be back.

Excellent Asian Food & Good Service!!! Will Definitely GO Thare Again !! THE Food is Excellent!!!

Medium spicy ramen with chicken and veggies.

The ramen here is really good, I'm sick so I decided to get some medium spicy ramen with chicken to go. It never disappoints. Staff is always friendly and the establishment is nice and clean.

This place is extremely under-appreciated and slept on. Their spicy ramen is soul food and brightens my mood anytime I have it. The spicy ramen has a strong kick to it and the flavors are Amazing. Their fried rice is great too but not pictured. The two appetizers I got are in the photos and they were delicious as well. I've been coming here for years and I'll be sad to leave this place behind when I leave. The front workers are the sweetest and she always remembers your order if you're a repeat customer. This place is a 20/5 for me and if I could give more stars I would. Truly the gem of Lompoc.

Food is so fresh, service was great , amazing healthy choice with lots of flavor! Both my kids loved their bowls and praised how YUMMY it was!

    Spicy chicken ramen

It's a cute place lots of seating! The service was okay, I could tell they were busy with takeout orders and were understaffed so the food took a while to come out. Nevertheless the food was worth the wait! We got the jalapeño poppers, poke bowl, and the spicy chicken ramen it was all super yummy!

    Vegetable Croquettes!! INCREDIBLE!!

VEGAN EATERS HERE.....Lompoc has a peculiar relationship with restaurants. While there have been some unique spots including Eye on I and the former Scratch Kitchen, it is a town that seems poised on the edge of discovering people who love there actually LOVE good food. In the meantime, it does offer a few rather noteworthy establishments that just serve great food, with consistently high quality at reasonable prices where I know we always leave, thinking of our next visit and wishing was just a little closer to us. Chow-Ya is on top of this list. It never disappoints, ever and you always leave with leftovers and have paid the surprisingly reasonable cheque. Did I mention how incredibly FRESH everything is??? It is singularly unpretentious, spotless, convenient and the combination of Asian foods (Japanese/Korean/Chinese) is not muddled and ultimately super satisfying. Kind, thoughtful staff, the cooks in the kitchen always wave goodbye. Popped in the other day at the end of lunch service (2:00pm) and rather than sending us packing or worse, looking for someplace else, staff just smiled and warmly invited us in, we were soon followed by several other stragglers who were just as happy as we were. Today it was their epic Crispy Tofu Teriyaki Bowl and Vegetable Udon Bowl, both shared and still took leftovers for another full meal and the Vegetable Croquets which we'd never tried before and were worth the whole meal!! NOT TO BE MISSED. Photos as proof! If you live in Lompoc, you are very lucky.

We have been coming here for several years now. The service and food remain on point. The serving sizes are generous and the flavors are to be desired!

Delicious! I had the garlic butter seared shrimp bowl . The asparagus and other veges were perfectly cooked , and the sauce had an amazing unique flavor . I'm very sad that it's not closer to me !! Restaurant was clean and service was impeccable .

First time visiting this place. We got the sweet potato fries and it's for the best seasoning and that sauce goes so well with it. We also got the man doo and it was alright, the sauce is a little spicy but not too bad either. We also got the jalapeño shrimp and they were huge! Tasted pretty good but I was pleasantly surprised by the size of them. The ramen had a very tasty beef and it's not too salty just perfect mild spice

Friendly, attentive service. Lots of indoor seating.

Sauce came on the side - didn't really remind me of a teriyaki sauce it's more tangy and soy sauce tasting or I guess like a watery A1. Tried all meats without the sauce chicken was cooked well, not dry at all. The beef had a weird after taste. Short rib was good, nothing was overcooked. Wish the meat was topped over cabbage like other Hawaiian spots instead of a lettuce salad ( which of course I didn't eat) Mac salad had a good mayo to macaroni ratio but didn't taste like anything it was extremely bland. Musubi - wish the spam was a bit thicker but the rice ratio was good, rice was cooked to perfection. Spam wasn't cooked in sauce nor was there sauce in-between the rice and spam. The service was friendly and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, which we appreciated. It was an open layout that had plenty of seating inside the restaurant. The decor was moder, but not overdone. We were greeting and pointed to a table but that was it. I found it really odd to not even be told to use the QR code to order or be informed of anything. Stewed beef noodles with Ramen- 9/10 My husband ordered this and I tried some. The broth was delicious. Rich and flavorful but not overbearing. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the meat was tender. The bok choy was a needed touch. My husband ate the whole bowl and wanted a second because was so good. Certified Angus Beef hot pot- 8/10 I ordered this with the tom yum broth. I didn't know it was a creamy version of the broth until it was served. I'm not mad about it but it wasn't in the description in case others are dairy sensitive. The broth was flavorful and really delicious. I will say that the beef was tough and it a typical cut that overcooked very quickly in the broth. I'm not positive it was Angus beef grade. I just now realized it was missing the lotus root but gave me zucchini instead. I was also missing my quail eggs. If I didn't read the description to know I was supposed to have them, I would've missed that too. Overall, the food was delicious but the service was 1 star for sure. We were never checked on and the waiter only appeared if we pushed the call button. If you can overlook the lack of customer service, the food is really delicious.

The crispy tuna nigiri was my favorite appetizer. Super fresh with perfectly crispy rice. We also loved the firecracker rock shrimp, which was light and crispy without being oily. We got the sauce on the side so the spice was totally manageable. But the GARLIC NOODLES!! Easily some of the best I've ever had. Buttery, garlicky, creamy and everyone at the table agreed they were amazing. The shrimp fried rice was great too, and they were able to make it non-spicy for us. We obviously did not have room for dessert, so we ordered it anyway The French vanilla crème brûlée was delicious, the green tea mochi was good once I got past the texture since it was my first mochi experience lol, and my sister said the tiramisu was the best she's ever had! Peter suggested we order from the nigiri menu which is 2 pieces each, and make it sashimi style (no rice). This was a great option for us to sample 3 different types of fish (although a bit pricey imo - $16 toro, $10 yellow tail, $10 salmon). We also ordered the blistered shishito peppers ($11) but were surprised not to get a single spicy pepper. For rolls, we had the piranha ($20, my favorite) and Everybody Loves Raymond ($22). It was the perfect amount of food for us. No room for dessert. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience at Oku. I thought the price point was a bit high compared to places we frequent in the San Francisco Bay Area, but it was our first time in Santa Barbara so this may be typical.
