The price was reasonable for the portion, and it was a large one at that. There was plenty of fresh tuna inside a mix of greens with plenty of additions for color and flavor. I'm getting hungry just typing about it! The restaurant is cozy and has a family-owned ambience to it. The service was great, as I arrived late in the evening and made small talk with the host as my food was prepared. I didn't have to wait long. I would definitely dine here again. Service here is good. The place is clean. My recent order were the poke and combination fried rice. The poke has plenty of everything but missing the flavor, it does not have a distinct taste, I don't know what kinda sauce they are using, could use some improvement. The fried rice was hot, really hot, must be the oil. Plenty of meats too. Flavor, I don't know if it's too much salt or oil, probably both. I went to the restroom minutes after eating it. Lol. This place is big, it can get crowded but they are fast. Parking is good sometimes. I don't mind coming here for a quick bite. It is one of Lompoc's best asian-aloha eating place. This place is new in town. Since it is really good, the wait is long. Parking is always full, so you'll probably have to park nearby and walk to the restaurant. Everything we have ordered there has been good. Sometimes the food delivery is faster or slower, but they are really busy and the food is seriously good, so that is a minor annoyance. read more

First time here. Good experience and overall a fair deal. Ordered the crispy tofu salad, served a pretty large portion which was more then enough and taste great.... Over ate and I'm stuffed! So portion to price I feel is fair, Prompt service and food was ready in little to no time. Visited this place while on a work/vacation up in Lompoc. I scoured Yelp for hidden gems and noticed this place instantly. I'm from Los Angeles, where asian food of all types is prevalent. I thought I'd give this place a shot. It did not seem busy as there was no wait to be seated. We did notice that there were several tables sat with nothing, no waters, no food. We waited about 10 minutes until a waitress came over. We ordered a couple beers and our food as we were worried if we waited it would be a while until the food was ready. We ordered a spicy pork bowl, vege fried noodles, vege fried rice, and cucumber salad. The cucumber salad came first, and it honestly looked like sliced bread and butter pickles. It tasted the same, with some sesame on top. I would not order this again as it tasted like sugar. The pork bowl had so much sauce the rice underneath was nearly inedible. The pork seemed boiled. The vege fried rice was delicious- I would actually order that again. The noodles though, guys, the noodles had a strong taste of CURRY. Now I know this is Asian "fusion" but NOWHERE on the menu does it mention that the seasoning would be different than one would expect from ordinary yakisoba. I could barely eat it because the cinnamon/curry taste was so strong. We took a few bites of everything, and took the rest to go- although sadly, it will not be eaten. The service was fine, and the food seemed fresh, and came out hot. The taste was just not that great. I probably wouldn't go back here for anything except the fried rice and Kirin. Perhaps I'm biased, but I'd expect a strong variation on a common flavor to be at least mentioned in the menu. read more

Took our family of seven there and loved it. For all seven of us, we got the lobster bowl, mango avocado salad, vegetable fried rice, chicken teriyaki bowl, chicken udon noodle bowl. Chow Ya is faster food than a typical restaurant but they don't sacrifice the quality to do it. Items I recommend: Spicy Pork Bowl; Spicy Ahi Tuna Salad; Jalapeno Bomb. The Spicy Pork Bowl (add kimchi) is great and filling. The Spicy Ahi Tuna Salad is generously portioned with a ton of fresh ahi and really filling for a salad. As a starter, get the Jalapeno Bomb -- these are great to share with the table. The service is great, the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Came in on a Saturday, 1pm, place was nice but sparse, clean though. Had been wanting to try for a while, finally had the opportunity. Seated right away, Sandy V., waitress, came to get drink order and brought it within 2 minutes. After she checked to be sure no MSG was used, we ordered the Bul go ki bowl, and a Spicy ahi tuna bowl (tuna is sushi grade). Both came with Miso soup. Miso was good,but no Tofu present in either bowl (they probably ran out, lol.) Our food arrived within another 2 minutes after finished with soup. Tuna was spicy all right, but excellent! Sandy did say they could do mild, but I wanted to try it as they normally do it, and it wasn't too spicy for me. I couldn't believe the quantity of tuna in my bowl, especially considering it was only $13.95. I highly recommend this dish. The same was with the Bul go ki bowl, the Korean BBQ sauce on the meat was fantastic, and veggies were al dente, very good. All total the bill came to $37 and with 20% tip $45 We will definitely visit again, and soon, so we highly recommend this place to everyone. read more

Came with good amount of rice, salad and tuna. I would've liked to have gotten some of the crispy wonton skins though. Also got miso soup on the side. I come through Lompoc every couple of years as part of a big cycling event. Usually the only decent food we can find is Mexican -- nothing wrong with that, but it's heavy and not at the top of anyone's healthy food list. So I was surprised to see that an Asian-Fusion place had popped up since my last visit, and decided to try it, with rather low expectations. So I was delighted and almost shocked to find that it wasn't just decent, it's good! The food is mostly Japanese-inspired, with a variety of udon and soba noodle soup dishes and rice bowls, among other things. I had the poke tuna bowl, with a little concern -- where would they get fresh ahi in Lompoc? -- but it WAS fresh, or at least it tasted that way to me.
