Great service and size clams in the clam cakes! (From a Rhode Island native ) will come back

I went the other day. Ordered the clam chowder.The chowder has too many potatoes in it. Clam chowder should be clams.

Was really looking forward to steamers an lobster, maybe take one home. Steamers luke warm, with used oil instead of tasty butter. Cancelled meal and booked out of there. Meal epic failure. They need to focus on quality. Really disappointed. read more

Classic New England style seafood. The chowder was awesome. Honestly haven't had a good chowder in quite some time, so this was a pleasant surprise. Plus, since the weather has been unseasonably cool this week, soup was a nice touch. Came for lunch so sandwiches were on tap! Rolls to be exact. At lunch time, you can get the lunch portion (6" roll) or dinner portion which is an 8" roll. I went with the crab salad. And this was no hot dog roll, this was the real deal! Buttered and toasted and delicious! Really enjoyed the crab. Came with fries - but there are other things you can get too (onion rings, baked beans, cole slaw) - Fries were nothing special but with malt vinegar took it up a notch. My husband got the scallop roll. 5 large scallops blackened and cooked perfectly. They were fantastic! Nice beer selection, attentive service. Will keep this on my list for lunch and possibly even try for dinner. read more

this place is probably around 45 minutes from my house but my mom and i can't stay away!! we come probably every month for our mommy daughter lunch date and we are NEVER disappointed. My recommendation is the Ipswich steamers (to die for), the pan seared scallops, the old bay seasoned fries, and complete your meal with some DELICIOUS peanut butter pie! find me at chowder heads in seafood heaven. read more

I was so excited to come here . Facebook does a great job advertising them . The one star is for marketing . Kelly our server was in such a hurry , she would just blurt out hi ! I lll get your order in a minute etc as she ran by . Two hour lunch with just appetizers because according to Kelly , the head chef takes Monday's off and well ...this chef is slow . Our bill comes and it has our table and several others on the tab . She runs our tab , we notice , and she reversed the charges . This is the most overpriced flavorless restaurant I have ever been I had to go to McDonald's after and I don't eat McDonald's! If you are someone who likes seasoning or flavor you will be extremely disappointed! After seeing how many people give this place more than 3 stars I now understand why if you have any bit of melanin in your skin you will not be happy! I gave 1 star simply because the service was good but the food was horrible and they have the nerve to have too fine dining prices ! My wife and I had wanted to try Chowder Heads and do finally took a leap. Wow it was a fun place for sure. Christina was our waitress and Jud was the cook. Had a nice chat with them both. My wife had a lobster roll which contained a whole lobster and said. It was amazing. I had fish and chips. The cod was fresh and flaky. They said all the non Local fish was flown in every 2 days. I think that reflects in the quality of the food. We both had their gazpacho and it as really outstanding. Next time we are in the Juno Beach area this will be a place we will visit for sure! read more

Sunday late lunch. Our group tried the crab, tuna and clam strip rolls with fries and a cup of chowder. Service was excellent. We sat in our courtyard with my doggie at an umnrella covered table with a soothing fountain running the in center. My doggie was offered a water bowl, but he was fine. The best sandwich was the clam strips. They were lightly breaded and fried. The clams overflowed my roll and filled half my plate. The clam chowder was delicious, left us wanting more. This is one of our favorite places to visit every year. Well, that is, until this year. Came in early on a Monday for their signature dish and crab cakes but unfortunately they were out of both items due to the crab shortage (this is understandable). Several other dishes were also unavailable. Unfortunately, the CHEF is not flexible at all and refused to make an adjustment to their $23 burger. I asked to replace the burger with grilled chicken (which is on the their menu) and told the waitress I would pay whatever the upcharge was for the substitution. The CHEF just flat out refused!! With limited options, it must not been worth his time to make a customer happy. This will be our last trip here. Its too bad, we have always really liked it. read more

Tried this place because I had a craving for fried shrimp. The service was friendly and the food was fresh and good, but the portions were small. If your not a big eater or really hunger, this is a great place. If you looking for a big meal at a reasonable price, you may want to try one of the other restaurant in the area. read more

Stopped in the for the first time on a Monday with my family at 6pm. We were one of a few tables but they were "out of" lobsters, crab cakes and scallops. Basically most of the menu outside of frozen, fried stuff. I would not recommend or return. read more

So I'll start by saying that the food was enjoyable. Their soups are delicious especially their clam chowder. I had previously had a very delicious lunch at the Jupiter location. So there is that, no doubt they deserve to have something positive said. But here's the thing I mistakenly chose to bring my husband there for his birthday. For the first 10-15 mins we sat and no one came to take our drink order. There was literally 3 other tables there with 1 person there at each table. They weren't even remotely busy. Once the drink order was taken it took a while for the server to come back around to see if we were ready to order. Once our order was in we sat for some time with empty drinks. Again one other group came in and sat at the bar ( and got over served I might add), but not much additional business to cause the sort of service we had. My husband sat with his cup empty during his entire birthday meal. No server in sight to ask either. We barely got the food cleared from in front of us as they placed desert on the table. Honestly, I feel bad for the owner. I know good help is hard to find. I know it's hard to run a restaurant. But seriously for the prices you could at least have people with half a noodle to manage taking orders for a mostly empty restaurant. I felt bad I brought my husband there for just the incredibly terrible experience on his birthday. From sitting forever to just get our drink order to making checkout a whole situation. I honestly can say I'm not interested in coming back. And just a side note, their ventilation system isn't great so anything they fry makes that strong sensation in your eyes and nose that you're too close to the fryer. Just a heads up. read more

Rating -0 Strongly Disagree I can't rate this establishment they deserve a -0 , for The treatment that my family received from the employees of this restaurant today, was very disrespectful and unprofessional, and prejudice towards my family. They were very reluctant to seat and serve us, they made them wait for a waiters to come, they were told they only carry a selective of drinks, you had to have a reservations, to eat at ChowderHead today. This is a shame, I won recommend this place to anyone and I'm going to call corporate to complain about this in ridiculous treatment they received. read more
