Food was really good! Good serving size for the price, and the chips and salsa were delicious! I had the fish tacos and they are good fish:tortilla size, because some places have the smallest pieces of fish and huge tortillas. Service unfortunately brought the experience down. We were at a table right in the middle that made it hard to get to, but she took forever to check in with us and get our orders in. As well as when we finally wanted to pay our bill and she ended up adding in an extra side order. She nicely deleted it, but honestly our other side order that we did get was 10 min after our entrees came out and should have been taken off as well. First time in and I was looking forward to a great meal and margarita. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't very good. This was on Friday, April 26th: Server: Nice enough kid but here is what I experienced. - Never asked if I want water; I had to get up and go over to the bar and ask. - After delivering food never came by table to ask how things were even though he served the table right next to me. - After I finished I flagged him down and said "All Done" and he nodded and didn't come back. - Nearly 10 mins later I walked to the bar to get them to provide my check and he walked behind the bar. I said I'm ready to roll and made a signing the check motion. He handed me the bill. - For a three enchilada meal - two chicken and one cheese along with one $12 Margarita it was $31.25. Really average enchiladas with very good mole sauce. Average margarita in small glass. $31 bucks... really? - I handed him two $20 bills and I said "can I get a little change?" And he said "Thank You Very Much" and walked away. I nearly 7 minutes and he never returned so I walked out. So there you go... $40 bucks for very avg enchiladas and a Margarita. If I'd written this review prior to the last 3 experiences we've had there, it would have been 5 star all the way. I'm super disappointed and it honestly pains me to write this, but 3rd time was the charm. I was so excited to take my Mom and Brother to dinner at Choza when they were visiting, since my Husband and I have been eating here almost weekly since they opened and have taken multiple family members here. We got there on a semi busy Sat. night and waited for about 45min (15min beyond the expected wait, but we were okay being patient). The head hostess finally came over and offered us the table right inside the door since no one was waiting and it was empty (usually it's crowded with people waiting for tables) and after a little hesitation on my part she promised us we wouldn't be forgotten (that should have been my clue to leave). We sat down, and waited for water and menus to be handed off. 10minutes into sitting, still no water or menus. I got up and walked up to the hostess area (two HS age girls working at that point, eating chips and salsa at the hostess table) and I very politely said, would it be possible to get some water and menus? They responded quickly and said they'd get some right over. One of them left the area and what looked like, went to get someone, but it was a solid 10 more minutes before she finally came back and dropped off water and our menus. (Still no chips or salsa, but it was fun to watch them eat them at the hostess table ;)) We looked through the menus and decided on what we wanted and I motioned to the head hostess who was back up there, that we were ready to order. She looked at me, smiled and gave me the "thumbs up" gesture. 10 more minutes went by, and nothing. I got back up and asked at the desk if someone would please come take our order. They assured me someone would be right over. 5-7 more minutes passed (at this point, my Brother who suffered a massive stroke about 2yrs ago was beyond needing food, his speech was basically shot at that point) and I got back up, went to the hostess table and said "you have 2min to get someone to come take our orders or we're leaving". She looked at me semi stunned and took off for a waiter. We drew right up against the 2min. mark and finally someone showed up at our table. He took good care of us from then on, offering free guacamole which was nice and we left feeling like, not a great experience but I'll give them this one and definitely return again. Fast Forward to the next day, my other Brother and his wife (on my recommendation) went to lunch at Choza. They had a very similar experience with the wait, and my Sister-in-laws tacos were so bad she didn't eat them. They said that the food tasted horrible and that they never had their water glasses refilled, and the salsa they brought to the table was a verde vs. the normal red and when they asked for the red it never came. The 3rd strike was just a couple of nights ago when I decide, OK, one last try. We'll order take out and have Door Dash deliver it. I ordered $50 worth of food for myself, Daughter, Dad and Step-Mom. A total of 6 tacos, 1 quesadilla, beans and rice and guacamole. About 30min into waiting for the delivery, the delivery person from Door Dash sends me a text and says, the order and receipt that they have here is $37 more than what you ordered through DD, I'm not sure what to do. I've shown them what you ordered, and they're telling me that I need to pay for the entire order that they have. Ummm, what? I'd never had this happen before, so she sent me a text photo of the Choza receipt and it had multiple items on it that I hadn't ordered and many of the tacos were duplicated. I felt bad for the delivery person so I told her, just pay them whatever they need and I'll deal with it myself. She finally showed up with the delivery some time later (apparently they were giving her a hard time there, I'm not exactly sure what happened) with our food. The side of guacamole that I'd ordered was a 2tbs plastic side cup with a lid, not what you'd expect for $10. The chicken was dry in the tacos, the fish was "fishy" tasting and the beans and rice weren't even half full in their containers. Not even close to being worth the $87 they were charging me. Needless to say, that was the final straw. I'm super sad because we've loved eating here for as long as they've been opened. It replaced Sandovals as our "go to" local Mexican restaurant. Looks like we're back to the drawing board. read more

The house Margaritas are made in house daily and the complimentary chips and salsa was the perfect level of heat, citrus and Smokey. What a Blend!! I got the Ceviche to start with Fresh white rock fish and pickled onions, Fresno chilies and watermelon radishes! then I got the 3 enchiladas and I chose a different meat for each (vegan/vegetarian option available) the Barbacoa was so freaking tender it practically melted in my mouth but don't let me steer you away from the carne Asada or the pollo. Tried this place once...very loud, service was ok and food was not outstanding. My husband had the "wet" burrito ...it was floating in the sauce + it was gigantic and had re fried beans. They should ask for a different bean selection. My quesadilla with chicken was different, uniquely presented and delicious. Stopped here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! Highly recommend the blood moon margarita and upgrading to the house made guacamole to start! Everything was clean and well spaced out... Excellent and a bit usual Mexican cuisine. You can get the usual sort of thing, but if you're a bit adventurous Choza has some wonderful choices. If you get the churros, though, I'd recommend knocking some of the cinnamon sugar off first, and--this is a personal choice--ask for chocolate dipping sauce, unless you're a fan of dulce de leche, which I'm not (I prefer the Spanish style, but that's just a preference). The reception and serving staff are rather off-putting and even downright unfriendly. My beautiful wife defended them, though, explaining that they are attractive young women who probably get hassled regularly and put on a calculated demeanor to attempt to minimize that sort of thing, something that she had to do at times earlier in her life. Not really a downside at all, once you put it in likely perspective. Excellent value for the money as well. They feature high quality non-alcoholic beer, which was also a plus for us. read more

Came from Grant's pass with my family and we were not disappointed! We were greated as we walked right into the doors with smiles on all the staffs faces. Sat down got drink orders with in 2 mins of sitting down. The server was so nice and welcoming. We got our food very quick. If you like Mexican food, this is definitely the place to eat at. I am always searching for the next best taco and 'Choza' not only provided me with amazing tacos, they provided me with a good selection. I tried the pollo (chicken), pescado (fish) and asada (grilled/roasted) and they were mouthwatering and very tasty. The pollo was my favorite as the chicken was not dry but moist and coming in second would be the pescado. Ordered Coca-Cola after being told they served it, didn't taste right, and upon leaving, didn't see the Coke brand on the fountain drink dispenser!!
