The absolute best place to watch the OSU/ichigan game while visiting Houston! Christian's Tailgate serves as the local alumni club watch restaurant/bar. The whole restaurant was filled with alumni and fans and there was even a DJ. It was a fantastic experience. Our waitress was a little dazed and confused the whole time, but it was a very busy day. They have a good drink selection and $10 mimosa pitchers. The food menu is a good size. I opted for the chicken tenders with a side of Texas Toast and it was a perfect halftime meal. Food came out very quickly considering how busy it was! We sat on the patio, but there doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the house and there are plenty of tvs. Great game day spot! read more

Their fried shrimp IMHO are the best, the coating is just a thin crispy flavorful crust and the rest is delicious shrimp. I normally dislike fried shrimp because they are usually too much coating and super greasy. Here they do them right. They also know who to cook a steak. We ordered the monday special steaks and they did mine a perfect medium rare, with a delicious parsely butter and seaoned just rigjt on the grill mmmmmm. I know these two things are chefs kiss! I ordered a pound of the peel and eat shrimp as an appetizer and it arrived after the meal. I literally received about 12 small-smedium pieces of shrimp. The plate I ordered was more than likely microwaved since the bowl to the mac and cheese I ordered was hotter than the actual side. Good (not great) beer selection. Food is subpar: Sysco foods in small and overpriced portions. This is sad, because the original Christians that was on I-10 @ Washington had great burgers. Horrible experience my first time here at Christians Tailgate. First of all we waited 20 minutes for someone to even come over to our table. Then when the girl came to the table she was rude And said that we had to order a drink for the taco Tuesday special. My best friend who's been coming here for years said that she'd never heard of that. The snobby waitress said "I've been working here for years we've always done that" So she made us all order a fountain drink. When the food came i asked the guy who brought the food out to get the manager. We asked the manager about the drinks for taco Tuesday and he said that they don't do that. When she came to the table with the drinks we told her to send it back because the manager said that we didn't have to get them. Then the waitress never came back to check on us after we got our food. We had to ask the manager for the check. When i tried to explain to him the service that the waitress gave us and that she never checked on us he shoo'd me away and said that he'd bring the check. He brought the check with the drinks on the ticket. We said that we didn't order the drinks and he seemed annoyed. OVERAL HORRIBLE SERVICE food was OK i make better tacos than them. Well this was my first outing since March. Only a few people and staff hanging outside on the patio. My husband and I decided to sit on the patio where we found a couple sitting with their very large dog and the staff and friends were smoking. We decided to sit away from the smoke and dog. The fact that no one came to our table wasn't the problem. We're kind of use to the bad service the same thing happened at the one on Hwy 6. Any who the thing that disgusted me was the waiter who looked at us and still did not come to our table and playing with the dog took a napkin from the table after he said oh man you got me. The dog had put a wealthy amount of spit on his hand. Well you would think he would go and wash his hands nope he took the glass of another customer to get a refill. So gross! So happy there is a location close to my work now! Had a great time there watching the World Series. It was crowded, but that's nothing crazy for the World Series. Bea was my server and she was awesome! She suggested the burger with onion rings and it was amazing! Not crazy priced for a burger and a beer either. Normally, I do not leave reviews. We frequent this place a lot. The food is good and the wait staff is always friendly. Today, something happened that gave me pause. I went to the ladies room and discovered all three toilet stalls were clogged and unusable. I mentioned it to our server and his response was, "All three? I thought only two were clogged." DISGUSTING!! And, no action is taken if one or two toilets are clogged? Just to close the loop, my boyfriend checked out the men's room...two stalls, both clogged. And, they have run out of clean beer glasses and are serving in plastic cups. Gotta say, I am rethinking this place. read more

This place is great for little ones of the weather is good. The play area outside is perfect. My 11 year old watched my 4 year old and they both had fun. I think a 13 year old won't like it, but under that you're good. The reason for the three star is because my kids were entertained. The food wasn't Special. I reserve 4 stars and above for outstanding food or service. My California wrap was tasty and the kids liked their burger. But it didn't stand out amongst wraps or burgers we've had before. My onion rings were cold right when I got my plate. I tried to find my waitress, but she disappeared. The other servers couldn't find her did at least 15 minutes. But she was a nice lady! Landed here with some friends on a Saturday afternoon for drinks. Our waiter was GROSS! He was intrusive and obnoxious and in need of a good teeth cleaning. He coerced us into ordering what he considered Top Shelf shots claiming he would buy his own. Turned out he had water and a lime. When the bill came the shots were WAY over priced compared with the regular bar menu offerings. As another reviewer said, the booth was sticky and the whole place was sketchy. I have had a wonderful experience, i have been coming to this establishment for over 4 years and Javi has given me the bet service from a bartender that I could ask for. I felt like I was at home and taken care of 100% of the time. I highly recommend if you want to go to a bar Christians tailgate on Kirby is the place to go thanks to Javi. I haven't wrote a review in a while but... I arrived and every surface in the bar area seemed "sticky" and "crumby" as in it wasn't cleaned after someone has already eaten in that spot. Anyways, I ordered a burger which took almost 30 mins to arrive ... Of course it's cold. Cold fries, cold burger and cold customer service. Service is abysmal, you almost need a blow horn to get their attention. And they make it a point to NOT make eye contact.
