Our waitress has been very rude. Besides, it's taken 15 minutes before they let us know they were out of hot dogs.

Have been here several times, the chicken fried steak is seriously, my favorite in Dallas, one of the only places where the breading actually sticks to the steak. The mozzarella sticks are huge and amazing, a must app for sure. Although each time we go, we are greeted and otherwise ignored by the waitstaff. On multiple occasions, I've had to go up to the bar and get a drink or ask for the check. We'll keep going for the food... But if you don't like to tip, this might be the place for you. read more

Review is solely for service. Sat on the patio last night and went unacknowledged for ten minuets. I was ready to leave but my wife stopped me just as a server appeared to disdainfully take our drink orders. We had to shout at her to get her from fleeing and let her know we wanted food as well. The food came timely and I have no complaints regarding that. After we finished we were planning on staying a while longer enjoying the weather, but were again left without any service finally being forced to go inside and request our check. I'm not sure if this is just more of a neighborhood bar and if they do not recognize you then service is substandard, but needless to say we will not be going back to find out. Again food was fine and it seemed like a decent place to catch a game, but with the options around bad service is unacceptable. read more

The Saturday night I visited, also happened to be the night of a UFC event. So the place was packed. Got a table outside on the patio. When the waitress first came to our table, I told her we needed separate checks. (There was 3 of us.) She said she would do it at the end. Long story short, food was really good! But service, not so good. Had to ask for a refill on a coke 3 times. Asked 3 times for a take home box. And waited 25 min for our check, and then it wasn't separated. We were so annoyed by that point that 1 person paid the whole thing just so we could leave. I will admit that it was probably bc of the crowd for ufc, but I don't think that can be the entire reason. Hey, I went here during a Dallas Mavericks playoff game. The place was full of hot chicks. They served buckets of beer. I did have a problem with the smoke. I'm not sure what'd it be like on a slow night. I'm thinking it wouldn't be so fun. Anyhow, I enjoyed it when I was there. read more

Visiting Dallas from San Diego and stumbled upon this spot on McKinney, which was less than a mile from our hotel. Superb spot to watch any sporting event as they have a ton of TVs! We came here to watch the UFC fights (no cover charge), but got here while the evening games of college football were still going. Great atmosphere and great crowd of people! We ordered the nachos (loaded) and mini burgers. The food was great! I would have given 5 stars but was unimpressed with the waitress service. We would have ordered more from our waitress but she only came by our table three times the whole 4.5 hours we were there. We went to the bar and ordered our drinks from there everytime we wanted one because our waitress never came by after taking our food order until the college football crowd had emptied. Granted it was extremely busy for college football, in which case they should have more waitresses. The busing staff was extremely friendly and helpful though. Despite the lack of service from our waitress it was still an excellent experience and I would go back! read more

I've been here about 5 or so times. There is always a sewer smell in this place. They no longer have the daily mixed shot specials, so disappointing. I do like the pool tables. It's definitely the quieter bar on Mckinney Ave. The food is atrocious. Very poor quality. Nachos beef looked like dog food. This is a great place to watch any sporting event. I was able to watch the Cowboy game, Ranger game and the Olympics at the same time. Loved the chicken wings but the best part of my experience was the great attention given to our table by the waitress Yarisa. She always approached the table with a smile. She kept up with our drinks before we had to ask her to. I LIKE THAT!!! This was a very busy day but each time she came to our table she took her time with us and made us feel we were her only table. This is rare. Most of the times it gets busy anywhere you go you get less attention. This was not the case with Yarisa. I plan to return and watch more Cowboy games. read more

Glass in the food! I had a great time at Christies watching the Dallas Vs. Packers until I ordered cheese sticks and received glass instead. The manager seemed very concerned and comped the bill but the waitress seemed to act as if it was in some way my fault there was glass in the food. She was a fabulous waitress all day but her reaction to this horrific event was appalling. I cannot fathom returning to this place. It was a fun day...until I swallowed glass in my food. read more

Horrible service! I stopped in here on Saturday April 22 2017 for lunch with a friend I was in town to visit. We had lunch and ordered a drink. The waitress was not bad at all. I accidentally left my sunglasses there (TOM FORD). My friend called within about 15 mins of leaving to ask about it and the person who answered which was the bar tender that afternoon was very nasty! She lied and said she checked and they weren't there. I then called back to ask again and she was even more rude "Didn't I just tell you No" were her exact words. I told her it wasn't me that called and she made it seem as if I was lying. She then said call back later and maybe we will find them. I was convinced they were there so I called a third time and this time she answered "Hello, is this the girl about the glasses" I could t believe my ears! I said yes and asked again very politely and she said "we have them, describe them" finally later that evening I was able to go back and get my glasses!! She shouldn't be answering the phones at all ANYWHERE!!! read more

I'm rating this high because it is exactly what they advertise... A true sports bar. Tons of TVs... Multiple projection TVs... Lots of high top tables and good beer selection. Servers do a good job of rotating around and having an overall sense of service as opposed to just working their sections. What they serve to eat is bar food but it's a slight tick above normal bar food. This has to be one of the best places in Dallas to watch any game you're interested in. Traveling and the wife and we needed a place to watch our Florida Gators play Saturday.. The place was slammed with as many tvs as tables. The burger was very good and they make their own chips and salsa. One of the best places I've ever been to to watch Football, fans from all over were there rooring on their team. read more

My boyfriend and I decided on Christies since it was a beautiful day for eating outside and because basketball was on. I ordered the Ashton burger (not a whole lot of flavor) and a watermelon-mosa which tasted as if someone dropped a jolly rancher in some sparkling wine (not good). My guy had the Jack and Grill (grilled cheese with flavorless and sauce-less brisket) and 2 of the Sunday whiskey specials ($5.50 each). When the bill came, I was surprised to see that his drinks totaled $15.50 and was charged for BBQ sauce. The waitress explained that an additional $4 was charged for my guy's drinks because the whiskey was on the rocks; on the rocks = heavier pour to which I completely understand. Now, the $1.25 for the BBQ sauce seemed like a bit of a reach given that it was brisket......what's brisket without BBQ sauce?? The waitress informed us that she had to charge us for the sauce otherwise "the kitchen wouldn't give it" to her. All of which is understandable. However, it would have been nice to know that on the rocks has an upcharge of $2 per drink and $1.25 for condiments PRIOR to receiving the bill. The only redeemable quality of Christies was that the waitress was super sweet and empathetic. Do better, Christies. read more

Where do I begin?? I fell in love with Christies years ago and have been a frequent visitor when in the Uptown area. Christies typically will offer an escape from some of the pretentiousness that over runs Uptown, by offering a bazillion tvs and fairly good drinks/specials. When it comes to the food at Christies it is extremely good. If there was a high end award for bar food Christies would take the cake. Service has generally been great, however over the years our group of regulars have noticed new staff coming on board, which is directly correlated to our last two visits being forgettable. One new staff member by the name of Stacy (young blonde) just really seems to not enjoy her job or waiting on people that she isn't personal friends with. UFC 189 my group chose to sit at a row of tables that were cleaned off and completely unoccupied, only to have Stacy come over and hastily say "those are reserved they are outside smoking". My first thought was reserved tables, at Christies????!!! As stated before our group (usually 12+) have been coming here for YEARS, and not once have we ever seen reserved tables for any event, much less a fight night. Unlike most sports bars they do not charge a cover, so regulars know you have to get here early, because after 8pm you wont have a seat. Nonetheless we abided and moved, only to notice that the party that was "outside smoking" showed up an hour later and were personal friends of Stacy. After her friends showed up service to us was pretty much non existent and I foolishly still tipped her thinking maybe she was just having a bad night. Fast forward to last night, UFC 190... Once again we are in a situation where we sit down at a table that has no reservation sign,been cleaned off and is completely unoccupied. Low and behold Stacy approaches us and says "this table is reserved, the party is outside smoking", deja vu?? Not wanting any conflict our party moves to another empty table literally right next to the one we were asked to move from. Thats when Stacy comes to our table and throws menus at us, which is the straw that broke the camels back. We spoke with the manager Tim, who apologized and said that type of service was unacceptable. Eventually we noticed that a couple of tables were open out on the patio and we jumped at the chance of not having Stacy as our waitress. At the end of the night I told our new waitress that she did an excellent job in turning a night that started off bad into a good one. She then proceeded to tell me that we were the 3rd customer to complain about Stacy this WEEKEND!! Come on Christies, you guys are so much better than this. As stated above this place gets jammed packed for UFC fights, which will tie into my next complaint/concern. Last night it was absolutely insane the amount of people they let into the building. I think it was at about 9pm when our waitress told us that they did not have anymore glassware available and then shortly after that she couldn't even take any more orders. Maybe this was an exception, because I have never seen this many people packed into this building. Who knows how many fired codes were being violated last night. All in all if you would of asked me to review Christies two months ago I would of given it 5 stars.. However with the service we have received on these recent visits, I have to bump it down to 3. read more

Yes, it's a loud, dimly lit sports bar with lots of TVs. Isn't that why you go to a sports bar?! We stopped here on our way to the airport because my husband needed to see some of his team's game! We were a bit frazzled from a long weekend. The waitress was so patient, coming by a couple times to see if we were ready to order, and always so kind about us not being quite ready. I wasn't sure when we walked in, not being the big sports fan, but honestly after we sat down, we had such a fun, enjoyable time. The poppers were fantastic. Had an array of specialty cocktails and I tried one. Seems like many beer options. If you're looking for a quiet place to have a drink and catch a glimpse of the one game on in some places, no, you wouldn't like this. But if you want to catch a glimpse of many NFL games on a Sunday on big screens with a little October baseball thrown in, this is your place! read more

We knew things were going to go wrong when the server did not write down the tables orders for eight people. When everyone's food came out, inevitably one person's order was missing. After placing the order when the rest of the table had already received the food, the order was finally delivered 20 minutes after everyone else at the table had eaten. But- THE ORDER WAS WRONG. It was the wrong sandwich. When waiting an additional 20 minutes for the order to be made again, we asked for the manager. At this point a man came over that had been siting in a large booth behind us and claimed to be the owner. At this point, he did not apologize but only offered to comp the meal that was wrong- WRONG TWICE. When everyone at the table requested more should be done to correct the situation the 'owner' started to argue, raise his voice, and flail his arms around like a child. Keep in mind, this is the man that is representing this establishment as an owner. At one point I made the point that everyone at the table was unable to fully enjoy their food because to be polite, we had waited to eat until the one correct order was delivered. The 'owner' then pointed to his wife and said "no, that's a REAL polite lady" After arguing about how 'he is doing everything that he can' and 'we need to calm down' and insulting us, he walked away from the table, got his 'bouncer' and told us to leave. As we were leaving, he gave us a business card and said, "here is my name, so when Fox Four News and my attorney contact you on behalf of ASHTON CHRISTIE, you will know why". Overall, he lost lots of money (we were asked to leave before paying) and customers all because he was unwilling to comp more than one meal. We had an appetizer and a beer tower that could have been considered, but his argumentative attitude was clouding his ability to handle the situation. This 'owner' has no sense of hospitality and what is takes to run a restaurant. The only thing keeping this place going is the location. The food was sub-par, the lemons and limes were dry, and owner is a clown. read more
