Rude, rude, rude!!! We went to watch the Lions game and it was the worst time, we couldn't even enjoy the game! We were hounded every minute by rude servers constantly coming to our table asking where the rest of our party was because the table we sat at was for a bigger party, we repeatedly told them that they were almost there. We decided to move outside to the patio once our party arrived so that we could hear the game with sound. The server on the patio (short Hispanic girl with very long black hair) was so rude and nonchalant that it was ridiculous. My friend ordered wings but sent them back after trying one because they tasted freezer burned, when he explained that to her she rolled her eyes, took the plate and walked off while he was still talking to her. I asked for some ranch for my chicken sandwich and she told me there was some already on the table (it belonged to my friend) and walked off and never brought the ranch I requested. Gratuity is included already on the tab as well meaning she got a tip that she absolutely didn't deserve. This is a nice large pub with so many TVs you won't miss a sports game. Really packed and loud due to all the patrons rooting for their teams. This place also has pool table and other games as well, pretty kewl. Wife and I ordered patty melt which came with homemade chips. The sandwich was big and the meat was thick and moist but could've had more seasoning on it for better flavoring. Corona are expensive $6 each. DO NOT go here, they are very deceptive and dishonest when they bill you. Multiple times the bartenders overcharged me anywhere from $2 to $50. They also charge 2% credit card fee. It was a few years since I been here so I wasn't sure what to expect. Back in the day this place had the best pool tables in town. They saved one of them which is placed to the side of the bar. I walked in here during a week day to have lunch with a buddy and it seems they havent missed a beat. I think the managers name when I used frequent was Justin but this other guy is good too. Skinny guy running the whole place was cool, polite, attentive and always working. I had the BBQ burger which was so awesome i went home and fell asleep. We used to get the Steak Sandwiches years ago and my buddy got one and they are still badass. I feel like the Steak Sandwiches are reason enough to come here for gameday. TVs everywhere. Ordered my food through GrubHub.com. The restaurant completely screwed up my main meal. I ordered a pasta dish and they gave me an asian rice dish instead. I contacted the restaurant and they told me that it was not their responsibility, that it was GrubHub's fault. But I am pretty sure GrubHub did not prepare and cook my food order. Went for world series game 2. Bar was not too busy so no reason it was taking 15-20 minutes for waitress to come up to the table. Decided to go to the bar for my drink, no bartenders there... they both walked up a few moments later and I realized they were busy playing the basketball game. Towards the end i went to the bar and ordered 2 shots. The bottle was just about empty, not nearly enough for 2. Bartender shook and strained and the second shot was much less so he poured back in the tin then evened them out then threw in more mixer to make it seem like more. Atmosphere is great, but drinks are not... ordered the recommended drinks which were Deep Eddy Orange Mule, Austin City Lemon, and Tres Agaves Margarita. All of which were almost undrinkable (and that's after having a few drinks). The Mule tasted like you were drinking a eucalyptus plant. The Lemon tasted like you were eating a straight lemon. I came to Christie's for the first time a few weeks ago when my mom and her friends were in town, because they knew one of the bartenders and raved about how great of a bar it was, and we had fun! I am a huge mavs fan and I watched the clippers lose during the play in and was yelling and shouting and having a good time. This last Thursday, April 28, I suggested to a group of 6 friends that we go watch the Mavs game 6 at Christie's because it seemed like the perfect place to watch a huge game. Mavs ended up winning in a close game, we were all ecstatic because they haven't won a series like that in 11 years. And of course we had all been drinking for hours! So we were yelling and loud and having fun and celebrating. Imagine my surprise when the waitress told me if I didn't "calm down" I would "be asked to leave." It was weird, rude, humiliating, and it total ruined my night. I will never come back here after being treated that way. If I was being too loud or annoying (I get it, I can be both of those things when celebrating my favorite team!) there was absolutely a better way to communicate that to me without being rude or demeaning. Christie's is a great sports bar just around the corner from Vino 100 and the MAT. It's about half and half bar seating/bar tables and dining tables/booths. Almost every inch of the upper wall is covered by a big-screen HDTV. The walls are adorable dark wood and have some kitschy pictures. For being a sports bar, the lighting wasn't bad. The service was awesome. Bad news for me... they don't carry brandy anymore. The menu wasn't bad, either. We ordered the veggie pizza with jalapenos. It came out steaming hot, the mozzarella cheese melted perfectly to a golden brown on top, and the hand tossed pizza crust was to-die-for. The bathrooms are hidden down a little hallway between the bar and the pool tables. I rather liked the women's because they have 100% private stalls with brick wall dividers and full doors; none of that metal partition stuff. I noticed a manager being very receptive to making sure requested games were shown somewhere on a tv near the requester It looked like there were quite a bit of drink specials no matter what day, but I had a long day/night of drinking ahead of me, so I stuck with beer. Our server popped up as we needed her but didn't hover. Awesome jalapenos were just that, Fresh jalapenos cored and lightly breaded, stuffed with your choice of pulled pork or spicy chicken, melted shredded cheese on a bed of lettuce with ranch or bleu cheese. I got the pulled pork *was told chicken could get dry* with ranch, (duh) and yeah. They were freaking good. Not stingy with the cheese and pork at all, and the jalapenos were a good size. Be warned, Smirnoff ice is on the menu, available in bottles. (what other way?) My friend had one waiting for me and iced me as soon as I sat down. That bastard. . I go to Christie's more than any other restaurant. I go here because its in my backyard and because I like their wings. The patio at Christie's is great for watching a game or games on their many flatscreens as well as people watching. I would give Christie's one more star if their service wasn't terrible. Word of advice - as you find a seat on the patio, walk up to the server and let them know you will be sitting there. That will at least help allow you to get an initial order and menus. Don't expect it to get much better, though. If this place wasn't so close and had a good patio, I would never come here. Hoping someone from Christie's reads Yelp reviews and makes an effort to improve their service. Such a mixed experience. Location is nice. It was roomy. Not packed but not empty. Thursday night football, Mavs home opener, and college football. Waitress was slow, rude, and inattentive. She slammed our shots down and took her sweet ass time between visits. She wasn't nice or social. Especially compared to seeing the waitress at the table next to us chatting, socializing, and being prompt and awesome with her table. Ours also had no knowledge of her menu but wasn't new. She had to grab the menu and look on each order. However, she walked our "guest of honor" out the door like an old friend, which was nice. Drinks were extremely strong, for everyone at the table, but moderately priced. Depending on your tastes that could be awesome. I hated it. Irish root beer, Bloody Mary, and honey badger shots. Mediocre but again moderately priced. Food was amazing. I had a Hawaiian burger and damn was it good. It was huge, the burger was cooked perfectly, and the veggies fresh and crisp. Second favorite burger in Dallas yet, but I'm still new to the area. Gf's brisket quesadilla was awesome too. Good meat and great cheese. The pizza looked and smelled awesome. My one concern here were the chips and salsa appetizer. The chips were dead cold, fresh outta the bag. I don't expect gourmet chips from a sports bar but cold Bland chips suck. They don't seem to make judgement calls on over serving though, as a guy next to us drank at least 10 draft beers over two hours not counting what he had before we got there. The first thing I noticed was how drunk he was. 10 beers later he wasn't getting any better. Loud, obnoxious, and drunk as a skunk selfies all night long. Someone needed to cut him off. He was there alone at first, I hope he didn't drive. Waitresses need to show due diligence. Overall I would go back. Chrisitie's is like a flagship location in Uptown... at least for me it is. From work happy hours to lunch to dinner... they are always ready and available. Beyond your usual drink choices and beer, their food is pretty good too. They are pretty accomodating with special requests too... I'm told their turkey burger is really good. I usually stick with the quesadilla but am keeping my fingers crossed for a black bean burger :) Plenty of TVs to go around and the energy during a big game can't be beat... especially if you aren't able to go to the game. I like Christie's, but I don't understand their reservation policy. I show up on a Sunday at 12:30 to watch the mavs game (game started at 2:30, wanted to come early to ensure a table), and they told me that every table in the restaurant has been reserved. There were no other parties in the restaurant at that time, completely empty. We were paying customers that were turned away. Wouldn't you want to have money now instead of saving 100% of tables that might not even show up? I understand taking a few reservations, but to walk into an empty restaurant and not get a table...it seems weird. Was here over the weekend. It's possible that it is short-staffed as there appeared to be one server for the 2nd floor. Limited menu but a spacious bar nevertheless with two restrooms and a Golden Tee machine on the 2nd floor (didn't check out the ground floor a whole lot). Got the Texas burger for $14 and it was good albeit a little messy with the BBQ sauce. The fries were a little salty but shoestring size and plentiful. Let me say I like Christies, but they continue to do something that is totally unacceptable for a sports bar - when the Mavericks are playing and a lot of people are watching you don't take the game off the big tv and take the sound away midway through the game to put it on an Indiana college game just because a small group has their watching party there. This has happened on three different occasions during this Mavs season. The sad thing is it's the owner making this decision. I guess he's okay with pissing off the locals who come there a lot and want to watch the local team just to make these small groups who only come during watching parties happy. First of all I want to start out by saying that it is called a sports bar & grill. It is not a restaurant! The food there is great for being a bar. Their mini burgers are delicious. The drinks are great also and can't forget all the TVs everywhere. Its hard to miss any games any time your there. Now the best part. TX/OU weekend is by far the best time to go there.
