Happy hour specials are great. The prices are exceptional for Uptown and I do have to be honest that I like the food and especially enjoy their mozzarella sticks!!! The best part about Christies is that if there is a good game on, it will be showing and they have a lot of TVs so everyone can enjoy their teams play! All the uptown bars kinda run together in my mind. This one sticks out for their fairly good pub food, a super nice waitress and an adorable mutt dressed as a bumble bee. Like most places in uptown, there's a nice patio, but unlike some places, it's pet friendly. We tried the pork quesadillas and the spinach/artichoke dip. How does it make sense to walk into an empty bar, ready to spend mass amounts of money; and be told that every single table in the building was reserved. There was no one there...wouldn't you want to get as much business as early as possible? I thought that by showing up at 11:30 I'd be ahead of the game, but instead I was told I couldn't get business. Doesn't make sense to me... I guarantee half of those reservations didn't show up. I visited this place on the first day of college football while visiting Dallas, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! It had plenty of TVs to watch any game you could imagine. It was also the Texas A.M. game and Ole Miss. The place was packed, so if you're not into that you might not want to come here on game nights. However, the bartenders were on point that night. Drinks were served quickly. With the amount of people there, I think they did a great job managing the drinks. When Christie's was in uptown it was a completely different vibe than this new location. I felt like I was in a dance club instead of a sports bar. The music was so loud that I couldn't hear the person I was with. I was also disappointed to see some of my favorite menu items missing from the new menu. Especially the Buffalo chicken wrap. I am willing to give it another chance in the future. Especially because the layout is genuinely beautiful and everything is upgraded. I just miss the old sports bar feel vs. extremely loud music. Usually when I walked into the old Christie's you would hear a game on and not loud music. Granted at times there was music but not nearly as loud as it was when I was there. For a sports bar I'd say this place has pretty decent food. I have been here multiple times and most recently had the pack of Dawgs and their spinach salad....Which by the way was amazing. Hard to believe a dark and old school sports bar like this would have such a great salad! The service was great and there are plenty of TVs to watch every sporting event In America at once. Use to just assume that the food wasn not good. But it is amazing! Lesson learned had the cheesy balls and they were amazing!!!!!! Also had the lemon pepper buffalo wings it is a mix wings are crispy and not rubbery like the typical bar wings. read more

My review is specifically for happy hour. They barely have one. They have a few specials for a normal HH timeframe and a few that are different each day, but none for food. And drink specials for cocktails are ~$7. Someone in my group chalked it up to Uptown pricing, but with getting a great craft old fashioned across the street every day for HH, this place can do much better for HH than a $6 Deep Eddy and soda. read more

Sports bar located in uptown that shows the UFC fights and other sports as well. It's loud inside just like a sports bar should be. It is also very smokey inside. There is a smoking patio at the entrance of the place, and the smoke tends to find it's way inside the bar. The waitress was very nice and the cheese sticks were awesome. I have been here numerous occasions to watch sports events and it's about as good as they come for football watching on Saturdays. Be prepared though- place gets PACKED. It's a really great/fun atmosphere- LOTS of TVs- just would recommend getting here early and be prepared for it to be LOUD. I've never had a problem with wait staff either- always good service. Other than that the food is pretty solid- pricey- but thats more uptown, but they do have a good menu with alot of options with salads, wings, burgers, sandwiches, and plenty of beers to choose from. We were in town celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and this place was recommended for a good sports bar. We showed up during the LSU Alabama game and it was packed of course. Upon arrival we were told to seat ourselves which would be fine if there had been a place to sit. Eventually someone got up and we got our seats. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful. The waitress recommended the "signature" sauce wings and the loaded jalapeño poppers. Let me say they were both amazing. My wife and I agreed the wings were the best we have ever had. They were cooked to perfection and the sauce is to die for. The waitress said it was a mix of buffalo and lemon pepper which sounds weird but was so good we got more to take home. If you go to Dallas drive and get some. I would have gave 5 stars but seating ourselves was less than pleasurable. With that being said we will return anytime we go to Dallas. If the owners ever bottle and sell the sauce ill buy a gallon lol. read more

I've ordered from this place twice now, both times my food was straight up GROSS. And I ordered simple things- a quesadilla and a burger. My burger was cold with lettuce that looked more like seaweed. The meat itself looked like the freezer patties you get in bulk from Costco...which had no flavor and looked half-cooked. I'm originally from Boston, MA and was spending a week in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. The restaurants are phenomenal in Boston and even though i did not have much experience with restaurants in Texas, my expectations were still very high. My first impression as I walked in was that it was a great place to grab a drink and watch a game-I don't drink and it was a Tuesday afternoon so the most exciting thing on was a tennis match. Even though there was only one other couple sitting down to eat, it took roughly 30-45 minutes for our order to be taken. To make matters worse, our server, who was also one of the bar tenders, barely made eye contact with us as we were placing the order. He practically had a conversation with a guest while we were asking questions about the food. The only thing we really enjoyed while being here was the food. It was delicious and did not take long to be taken out to us. Probably because it wasn't served by the guy taking our order. All in all, it as a terrible experience. I'm sure it's just like a typical sports bar on game days but I would not recommend you come if that's not the case. There are plenty of other restaurants on Mckinney Ave. A lot of which I'm sure are a lot better than Christie's. read more

I came in last Sunday for the first time. I picked it solely because it had multiple tvs and I wanted to watch all of the games. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. I asked where we could find a particular game and it was one of the few you couldn't view for the bar. Someone showed us a high top we could have to watch the game. I went over to sit at it while my boyfriend closed our beer tab. To this point, everything was great. Thennnnnn the waitress came over. She asked if I wanted a drink and I said just water and a food menu for now since I had already ordered from the bar. She brought a food menu and when she dropped it off she said "I'm you're waitress by the way so you don't need to go to the bar" in an extremely rude tone. I tried to explain to her that we had been sitting at the bar and had to move to watch the game but she walked away WHILE I WAS SPEAKING TO HER. Unacceptable. Every time she came to check on us she was super short and rude with us. We ordered food and five more drinks total. I only stayed because the games had already started. I have a friend visiting from out of state. He wanted to go to a sports bar to watch a soccer game. With myself being new here I did not know where to go. The hotel he is staying at suggested to go to Christies. The hotel called and asked if they were playing the game. They said yes so we hopped in the taxi and headed over. When we got here. The game was not on, and a little upset. We asked the bartender to change the channel for us, and of course he did. One problem, the bar was not subscribed to the soccer channel. The owner overheard our conversation and got directly on the phone with directv. Within 5 minutes, the channel was on for us. The owner added the sports channel to his package just for us. I am sorry but I do not remember our server but she was very nice and was able to help make our bar crawl so much better. After we paid our tab, she wrote us a note and told us to go to another bar and give the note to the bartender. When we did, we got two free rounds. I really appreciate servers that actually want the people to have fun, even if it is not at their place of work. The food was great and the other patrons were really friendly. About a hour into our time there, we were buying eachother drinks. The food was great but a little slow. I will give them the benefit of the doubt because they were slammed that night.
