She simply said, "No, it's closed," and then walked away before we could say anything else. We ended up sitting directly underneath the TV, wedged between three very loud tables. We noticed there was an empty area on the other side of the bar, so after waiting until the waitress was finished talking with other customers, my husband politely asked if we could move over there because it was quieter and would make it easier for me to hear. She completely ignored him. He asked again. She looked directly at him and said, "I don't have time for this," and walked away. At that point, we simply got up and left. I own a local business in Yorkville, right down the street from Burnt Barrel, and I would never allow one of my employees to treat a customer this way. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable--we were simply trying to find a quieter place to sit because I was having difficulty hearing. People have bad days, and I understand that. But there is never a reason to dismiss and speak to customers that way, especially when they are being polite. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning.
