Food is too good that we forget to take pics every time because we are too busy stuffing our face

Food is awesome service is great, the location is in a good area in Lexington, NC and prices aren't too bad. I always get a steak and cheese Stromboli with their homemade sauce dip and mild wings because the sauce is addicting I wish there was one in Charlotte, NC because I would be there every day. I highly recommend this restaurant. Make sure you guys bring me back something if you go here.

Stopped in again the other day for the salad and pizza buffet. Was seated immediately and the friendly staff brought out drinks out quickly. Salad bar always has a ton of options, but I wish they had the available dressings labeled. Always face the classic pizzas, cheese, pepperoni, veggies, and a few not so typical topping combos here and there. Each time I come they seem to have a different dessert pizza available as well. Bathrooms have always been clean, never seems to get too noisy in the dining area, and laying at the end is quick and easy. Pizza quality is definitely better than most chains, but not wood fire/brick oven level. But for the price, you can't beat it!

Stopped in, first time in months. Service was slow but not too slow. Ordered Sub and Onion Rings. Server forgot OF brought FF instead. Back to kitchen. Onion Rings were so greasy and as shown, burnt beyond recognition. Had 2, rest were terrible. Food quality has slid downhill dramatically since my last visit. Probably lost my business!

Hanging out in Lexington so we stumbled upon Christi's Original and decided too stop in. The parking lot was pretty full, but there was still plenty of parking. The first impression is so crucial to a business which is why you need a good host at the door greeting and seating the customers. The host that seated us was dull and cold. She could have been better if she just cared a little. Now our waitress Mandy was full of energy and very attentive. The food was really good. There were quite a few pizza selections but there was no way to tell what some of them were topped with, and for vegetarian and non pork eaters that was a concern. There was a lady who did her best to stand behind the counter and tell what the different pizzas were; (in between restocking and cashing folks out). The salad bar is good, with lots of choices, but again there was no way to tell what meats were on display. The only complaint we had was that some of the food was not that hot. I would give them another try.

Had the penne arrabbiata and loved the kick of heat it brought. The sauce was tangy and spicy but didn't overpower the rest of the dish. The pasta itself had a great texture and held up really well to the sauce. I added grilled chicken which was a good call. Staff were kind and didn't rush us even though it was a bit busy. The space was open and clean with a nice view of the kitchen. I'd absolutely come back to try another pasta next time.

This is my first time at this location. We went for lunch and arrived around 1:30. There was about 15 to 20% of their tables and booths utilized at that time so not very busy at all. They had a salad bar and a pizza bar that also included dessert pizza! The salad bar looked fresh and had a pretty good selection of salad fixings.I ordered the steak and cheese wrap, which was good but also rather greasy. To be fair, my server told me that it was greasy when I was asking about recommendations but I still ordered it. I had hot chips with it, and they have the good ranch! (if you know, you know!) I'll have to go back and try their grilled chicken Caesar wrap, and also their wings which I hear are pretty great! Our server was very friendly, accommodating, and quick. I failed to get pictures of the menu, so I'll have to do that next time!

Our server was great! She was very sweet. My Green beans were a little burnt so I spent majority of the time peeling off the breading. I also got the blackened chicken Caesar and it was sooooo salty and had so much dressing that my lettuce was soggy. The Inca and fries were good tho

Christos pizza has become my favorite pizza place in Lexington. As a born and raised New Yorker Im so impressed by their pizza the cheese is so good. They also have great wings hood ranch and their mango dipping sauce is so good !

The melted cheese was dripping over the sides, the bun was soft and fresh, and every bite just kept getting better. The fries deserved their own round of applause. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and so addictive I kept telling myself, "Just one more"... about 30 fries ago. I don't know what kind of magic they're working back there, but they absolutely nailed it. This wasn't one of those burgers you eat because you're hungry--this was the kind you eat in complete silence because you're too busy enjoying every bite. On top of the amazing food, the service was just as impressive. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. They also have covered outdoor picnic tables with fans running overhead, which was a really nice touch. It made sitting outside comfortable even on a warm day and gave the place a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. Safe to say this place has officially ruined mediocre burgers for me. This looks like a little hole-in the-wall type of place, so I should've known it would be great! We got hotdogs all the way with no onions, I think they called them "regular." We also got fries and drinks. It was about $24 total, which isn't terrible compared to other hotdog places in the area. Everything was served piping hot and the hotdogs I would argue are my favorite of any in the area. They are a red hotdog and the white slaw and chili are almost sweet. It reminds me of the hotdogs I grew up eating at a local drive in restaurant back where I'm from. It is a walk-up stand and you're served at a window but you can take your food back to your car and eat in the air conditioning or take it back home with you. She took a selfie with me to send to her friend, and honestly, I thought that was one of the most heartwarming moments of our entire trip. It perfectly captured what we've experienced throughout Lexington: local business owners genuinely rooting for one another instead of simply doing business. Now, let's talk about the food. If you're looking for authentic barbecue done right, this place absolutely delivers. The smoked chicken was unbelievably juicy, with flavorful skin and just the right amount of smoke. The brisket burnt ends were another highlight. Rich, tender, deeply smoky, and finished with a generous drizzle of barbecue sauce that complemented the meat instead of overpowering it. Exactly the way it should be. The potato salad was creamy, chunky, obviously homemade, and seasoned just enough to let every ingredient shine. The onion rings were perfectly crisp and light with a satisfying crunch, while the hush puppies were golden, tender on the inside, and absolutely delicious. Every side felt like it was made with the same care and attention as the barbecue itself. Every plate that came out of the kitchen looked generous and made with genuine care. This is the kind of barbecue that doesn't need elaborate presentation because the food speaks for itself. Hearty portions, perfectly smoked meats, classic sides executed exceptionally well, and the kind of meal that stays with you long after you've left the table. The bacon was thick and had just a slight chew to it. Just the right amount of mayo and tomatoes cut to a good thickness. Hot dog was pretty great. They put a real generous amount of mustard *under* the frank then topped with chili and a nice creamy slaw. If the bun had been toasted it would have been darn near perfect. You have to understand, that I am a total burger snob. As a reference point, my favorite burger in the Piedmont Triad is Hops Burger Bar in Greensboro, and I'll drive the 20 miles and stand around waiting on a table for 30 minutes, at the first suggestion, no questions asked. Also way up there is/was Big Burger Spot, but they've now slipped into third place since Guy is no longer the owner and overseer and now that I've had the burgers at Thunder Road. First off, they will cook your burger to your desired doneness. For me, that's the minimum standard that a burger joint has to meet, and my medium-rare burgers have been spot-on every time. From there, the buns, the topping, the sides have always been fresh, tasty and again, done to order to meet my picky requests! "Can I get those tots crispy?" "Since I haven't tried it, can you put that sauce on the side?" "Can you cook that bacon crispy but not burnt?" Each request was met with something like a "You bet!" and the execution of the request was perfect. I really like that each table is equipped with a roll of paper towels and several condiments including the local Texas Pete, as well as salt, pepper, and some form of seasoning salt. Often when I see these things on tables in diners they are grimy and the table beneath then is sticky and dirty, but they make an extra effort to keep them clean and well stocked. For example, last week I grabbed the red bottle of Heinz ketchup, expecting that I would need to request a swap with a full bottle, but no, it was totally full! Just like when I was a kid, I love crunchy potato chips on my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and I like fries with my ketchup! Let's face the facts that one of these days I'm bound to be disappointed in something, but from what I can see from the friendly and attentive staff, it's going to something I can overlook or that they'll be willing to address. Oh, that reminds me about the bathrooms! I often dread entering the men's room in a one-off diner or pub, but I was elated to find a clean and fresh smelling space that was well lit and well supplied. They've won us over. Last Saturday we bought three of our granddaughters, and today will be joined by my sister and brother-in-law, who are also locals and bound to become fans of Thunder Road Grill! As I re-read this before posting it, I wonder, why do I leave good reviews for places that I don't want to see become crowded and popular? Sometimes I question my sanity! Be sure to say howdy to me if we run into each other. And Fred B, I think you need to give them one more try.
