This would be a great place to eat, if not for the terrible customer service of the heavy set woman taking orders during the rush. This is the third she has treated my coworkers or me with attitude after SHE messes up the order! Today I told her i wanted three tacos, pollo, chicken and carne asada. She takes three tortillas and proceeds to put carne asada on all of three, then hurriedly calls out next. I say excuse me, thats not what i ordered and she gets upset at me?? My friend who was next tried to order three tacos as well. He said he wanted three tacos, one of them fish. She proceeds to tell the grill man they need a fish taco, then proceeds to the next customer?? My friend had two more tacos lady!! When he tried to get her attention she ignored him. This lady is in the wrong business! Her poor attitude has no place in what used to be a great place to eat. My office will be taking our business elsewhere. This place was a nice switch up from my usual Flame Broiler or Chipotle lunch,though my experience wasn't ideal. I had never been to Chronic Tacos before and was excited to try it out. I walked in and it's like when you go to Subway or Chipotle, you get to pick what you want inside your taco/burrito/salad etc. I ordered a tostada bowl, not knowing that the "tostada" part was one of those over-sized fried crispy shells which I definitely don't care for. I nibbled a little bit of it and it was very oily so I just ate the other stuff. I ordered a grilled fish bowl. She girl helping me just put the bowl aside and I wasn't asked what I wanted or anything so I was a little bit confused. I paid for it, and I later found out the fish was still grilling. It was nice to have it fresh! I added lettuce, pico, a tasty and refreshing green salsa, some cilantro and cheese with black beans and rice. I got a side of the Baja Sauce which to me was not very appetizing at all: Congealed mayonaise with chili powder...blech!! Upon returning to my office to scarf down my bowl I immediately noticed it was Shrimp...not grilled Fish. Unfortunately I was not given a receipt either to confirm the order but I was in a rush and headed out the door. The shrimp was flavorful- a tad on the salty side. My issue with the whole thing was that not only am I not supposed to eat shrimp due to health issues and was irritated when I found out they gave me an incorrect order, but I feel like I received terrible customer service. I'm sure I'll come back again because truthfuly the food was tasty- but they need to pay closer attention and focus on the customer. read more

I have been in this place many times never fail !! It's the best service !! Best food !! We really enjoy at work !! Tim the owner he really care for his business I have never met him. But I always talk in the phone with him and replace my order via email. Last order we did for our amazing cinco de mayo party was truly wonderful . We just couldn't express the amazing service and food we get and all the sides .. We have a blast. I really recommend this place to everyone . My favorite local lazy weekend brunch place. I get a big ol burrito with the carnitas, black beans, mexi-rice, cilantro, sourcream, and some pica de gallo. Its a two fisted burrito where you eat half if your just so-so-hungry and then the other half for another meal, or if your monster-hungry you eat the whole thing then take a nap. The quality and service has gone down here. I use to love eating their food, especially their salads. I ordered a chronic salad and the lady making it only gave me a handful of lettuce! The bowl itself was huge but so empty looking. Where's the rest of my lettuce lady?! They were out of lettuce at the prep table and she didn't bother to get more! This place is epic. Great food! Carne Asada fries! Al Pastor to die for! Huge burritos! I even get random items like the shrimp quesadilla and it does not disappoint. It amazes me that there are still some good people left in this world! I love it when people actually fall thru with what they promised they were going to do! So last week was my first time at this particular Chronic Taco and I had an unpleasing experience, which I left a yelp review about. Afterwards the owner, Tim, had reached out to me and offered to make me an amazing "Surf and Turf" burrito (which he did) and give me a refund! Now that is a man who wants to make sure his business has a wonderful reputation and that every customer who enters leaves with a smile =D! The greatest customer service I have ever received. This gem is a must. Unfortunately I've only recently found out about this spot. I would describe this place as the authentic Mexican version of Chipotle. The service was great, portion is more than anyone can ask for. I would highly recommend trying the California Burrito (regular burrito topped with fries). After tonights experience, I wish I would have chose another mexican restaurant nearby. Flies were flying around the food in the food prep area. The girl making my chicken burrito scraped enough cheese from the bottom of the cheese container to put about a half a teaspoon of cheese on my burrito. I don't know why she didn't refill the cheese container. The chicken was too greasy, I bit into a chicken bone the size of a 50 cent piece, and then bit into a big piece of grissel. I have lived down the street from this place and have always enjoyed both their breakfast and lunch burritos from the time they opened. Although the prices were high the size and quality of the burritos made it more than fair. However over the last two months the size of the burritos have significantly shrunk. Their $6 breakfast burrito that used to satisfy both me and my Dad now leaves me alone still wanting more. Have I become the glutinous pig that I always feared? I think not! Great if you love the smell of Pine-Sol while you're eating. Just moved into the area and was excited to see I now lived really close to a Chronic Tacos... my first time in started fine with awesome smells keeping my anticipation up... food is ready, GREAT, I get 2 bites into my first taco when I recognize the overpowering smell of Pine-Sol... TERRIBLE !!! SOGGY!!!!! WASTE OF MONEY!!!! I decided to give Chronic Tacos Irvine a try instead of my normal sushi place next door to it. What a huge mistake!!!! It was crazy in there. First of all, some of the employees seemed clueless when preparing the food. I get that they may be new, but isn't that the point of training your employees prior to serving customers. I overheard one customer say can I have the beef taco....aka carne asada. The customer pointed at 2 meat options and he asked is that the beef? The blonde girl (employee) said "Uh I think thats the beef." She was about to serve the customer what she assumed was the beef...hesistated then asked her coworker "What meat is this again." The coworker responded "That's the carne asada" Then I looked at the blonde girl and I knew she had no idea that carne asada MEANS beef....that really made me question this place. Their menu is pretty simple pollo, carne asada, carnitas, al pastor (and a few other fish options). And everything is is laid out in seperate buckets under the glass counter just like Subway. I would be afraid if I had a food allergy and this girl prepared my food. Second, I was in the mood for something crunchy...so I ordered 3 "crunchy" tacos (carne asada, pollo, carnitas). Although I do appreciate that they make and fry the tortillas fresh, I was extremely disappointed when I ate them. The reason being, after they fry the tortilla shell and place the "saucy" meat, they then ask what toppings you want. So I ask for lettuce, cheese, salsa, and hot sauce. The huge soup laddles used to put the meat and sauce into a narrow crispy taco shell makes absolutely no sense. It spills all over the taco shell. So I paid for my food...then brought my tray directly to the table....and it was terrible. It was only 1 minute since it was prepared and the liquid from the salsa, hot sauce, and meat juices were everywhere. It was the soggiest "crispy" taco I have ever eaten. The parts that didn't get soaked where actually not even that crunchy....it was more like a stale crunch. Anyways, I really wanted to return the food and get my money back but didn't want the hassle of getting my $9 back (which is pretty expensive for 3 tacos). Why doesn't the company try their food options/preparation style that way they would have known to put their salsas in little plastic cups instead of drenching everyone's food. I felt so sorry for the lady before me who order 9 crunchy tacos and said put ALL the condiments on them...and she took her order "to-go" Third, as I looked at all the food behind the glass counter (just like Subway) it was a huge mess. Food was everywhere, all over the counter and things have been mixed together (i.e. some grated cheese feel into the salsa, the lettuce had beans in it). Pretty unappetizing if you ask me. The staff is friendly (and energetically loud) so thats why they get 1 star, but I don't go to eateries because of nice people...I go because the food is good. read more
