The flavor was what I wanted but portion wise it's the smalled Ala Carte taco I've ever had from this franchise out of all the locations. The cabbage was also shredded so thin it was all water no crunch & looked almost unrecognizable. It was good, not great, I'm used to Chronic tacos setting the bar higher. Chronic Tacos is my favorite taco/burrito chain restaurant in the area! My go-to's are Al Pastor and Carne Asada burritos and tostada bowls. The orange hot sauce is delicious on anything, I always get a small portion to go. Chorizo Breakfast burritos are the best morning-after cure and served all day. Blanca makes the best fresh cooked meats, hats off to her and the Chronic team! There may be a line but you wont wait long, service is top notch. Small tables with limited seating to dine in but get it togo and walk two blocks for a beach-feast. read more

I visited this location recently since the store was remodeled. I noticed some of the changes right away. I have always felt this location ( being the original ) has better food preparation then Other locations and wonder if there is a mix of franchise vs corporate with the other locations. On this trip I ordered a California burrito and noticed they stopped service fries and switched the Cali burrito to tater tots Which in my opinion is a bad idea . I really dislike tater tots. I asked the worker about this switch and she claimed it has always been tater tot's . Secondly I noticed they got rid of there orange bang - horchata - drink machine and I was sad to see this go. . I'm left wondering if all locations will make these same changes or Only Newport Beach. Just wanted to share my thoughts with chronic taco. read more

So if you're from vegas, it's way better than robertos, not quite los tacos since it's a little different. Chronic Taco in Newport Beach (Superior/Balboa Blvd and PCH) is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. We love their food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We have used their site at least 8 times for catering of family and business events over the years. They have always provided us with quality food, great prices, and the best customer service. Dina is the best person to work with when planning a catering event. In all the years and orders we have had, our orders have always been correct and more than generous. The food is always bomb when I come through to this location (compared to others) and the service is always outstanding along with its vibes/ambiance. The only thing I'll say if anything, is that this "hole in a wall" deserves more space because of their performance & delivery. I'm a Mail/Letter Carrier for the area and they say if the mailman goes there, it's a must try place. Came in yesterday during the Fourth of July and got the Carnitas Burrito Baja Style and it was fantastic. Baja sauce is great and I added a little bit of the red and green hot sauce as well. Great burrito with really good flavor and the pork was incredibly well seasoned. Ended up getting a second burrito, chicken this time, and was pleased with it as well. However, I thought the pork was better than the chicken. Overall a great burrito, especially after a long day at the beach! read more

We ordered a couple of them and had them out in the streets of Newport. Carne O sada is good too. Really big menu here and big portions of food.. So come out here with a big appetite. I placed an order online for a couple of breakfast burritos and a breakfast bowl. Drove to the place took me about 15 min to get there. When I arrived, a gentleman walked in and they took his order and got his food real fast. When they finished his order i let the lady in the front know I was there to pick up an online order. She looked at me very confused and when she went to check she gave a ton of attitude saying that I was 20 min early. As she chuckled sarcastically, she went on and did her thing. I didn't think much of it. I walked out to my car. After 6min my lady went to check on my order. When she went inside, my girl overheard them calling me very bad names and talking very bad about me in front of her thinking she wouldn't understand Spanish. My lady stood there and told her that she didn't appreciate the bad language and how she was taking about me to what she responded with "oh well I didn't know he was with you." I don't understand why it's faster to order in person than online and why they were upset that I was checking on my order.
